If you're craving that juicy Indiana style chicken, look no further. They have it nailed with that peppery coating and intense flavor, so moist and juicy and not at all greasy. It's an old establishment and a bit on the grungy side, in a good way. Service was friendly and we were checked on. We sat at one of the tables on the bar side. There was some kind of delay in my husband's order and the waitress brought him an extra chicken leg to make up for it. Nice. When you walk in you're on the dining side and there is a fairly high wall separating from the bar. So you may want to mosey to the other side to get noticed. I can see where you could get overlooked for service if you're on the wrong side. The bar has a classic appearance and the decor is country. The parking lot is weird and small, looks like you could get boxed in if you're not careful. There was metered street parking too. Hours of business seem to be in a state of flux so I would definitely call ahead.I was disappointed and very surprised to see they still had Covid fear signs, enough to be annoying, including a request to wear plastic gloves for the salad bar. You kidding me?Five stars for the chicken and hospitality, one for the Covid posturing. I hope to see that long gone when we get back here again.

Well where do I begin. The place was busy and unorganized with mostly local clientele. I ordered the chicken basket based on the recommendations and it came with three of the tiniest pieces of chicken I've seen leg/thigh and a back with no meat on it. The salad bar was mostly empty so glad I didn't get it but noticed a lot of upset people complaining. Service took forever and no one greeted us to let us know whether to sit or wait for a host. This place looked like it was straight out of the 70's so there is some nostalgia there. They were playing wheel of fortune on the TV so a bit odd for a Friday night bar-restaurant. Highly unlikely that we will be back but give it a shot if you are up for an adventure and a good story!

Stopped there for the first time. As soon we got to our table, we waited 20 min before being served. Then waited little over 45 min for our food. Our waitress never bothered to check on us for refills on our drinks. When the waitress finally checked on us to see how we doing, I asked where is our food? 15 min later we got our food, minus the chicken livers! Then after 20 min, we got our chicken livers! We will never go there again. Their service is horrible!

The first question I have to ask myself is "would I go back again"? The answer is no. Service was the minimum, barely. I got the chicken which they are supposed to be know for. Way over cooked. Three tiny pieces of chicken $9 but a whole cooked chicken $12? Also a tiny portion of french fries. My wife got a burger, again overcooked. Her words "it was as if someone squeezed as much juice out of the burger as they could, once nothing came out it was done." I love mom and pops but I would skip this one. I stopped to get a snickers bar when we left because I was still hungry.

Small town dive bar and restaurant where the locals hang out. Nothing fancy but great food and hospitality. One of the only restaurants you can get good cold beer at in Brookville, IN.

Not too bad for a greasy spoon/dive. Several different selections between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Biscuits and gravy are served 24/7. I ordered the steak hoagie with mushroom sauce, fries and slaw. Pretty good. Slaw was delicious! Steak hoagie was good, more like a JTM. Probably was. Haha! Anyhow, I left stuffed and don't have anything bad to say. Actually, by the time we left, there was a decent crowd.

Very good food. Excellent and friendly service. Clean rustic decor. We had the biscuits and gravy which was very good. They have a soup and salad bar which looked fresh and inviting. Prices were very reasonable!! Dinner entrees we're almost too inexpensive!! Very good little place to eat.

This was truly one of my worst experiences in a restaurant. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was fried, except the fries... No one was there to greet us when we walked in and the waitress never once asked how our food was. She randomly put to-go boxes on our table and even grabbed a plate I was currently eating from. At one point, it even began smelling horribly of cigarettes. The food was really overbearing and I felt as if my heart was going to give out right after I finished my meal. The one thing I can say I liked was the bathroom; it was big enough and smelled pretty nice, but the door was really hard to open. So, if you enjoy a three- course fried meal, this might be the right restaurant for you.
