I found this shop on google maps and inquired online if they do deliveries. I wanted to support a local business and Spencer immediately responded and helped me with the order. He did a fantastic job selecting a Barolo, packaging and arranging delivery for the wine gift to a local resident. The packaging was beautiful and the recipient loved the wine. Thank you for your attention to detail and help with this order from out of state!

An absolute hidden gem. The wine selection is amazing and the staff are helpful and courteous. They have a lot of main stream brands like Caymus, etc. but the real treasures are more off the beaten path in the staff can walk you through all of them. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

It's more than a wine store! I just came back from Napa and this is how good their customer service is. I was able to talk to their wine specialist while I was in California to see if I could get certain years and types of wine. They can get anything you want, almost!! They are always super helpful, knowledgeable, and have the best cheeses! Best wine store in Madeira, a hidden gem in the Kroger plaza.

Small wine store but excellent selection with a wide variety of price points to suit one's budget. I went in for the first time recently and the owner and his wife were extremely helpful and friendly. Their recommendations were spot on, we loved everything we bought!

As an avid small business supporter, I am surprised they don't seem to understand the importance of treating customers with kindness and respect. This place is full of pretentious jerks. If I don't feel like changing out of my workout clothes before going in to pick up a bottle of wine, then I shouldn't be treated like garbage and looked down upon. I happen to be a huge wine lover and thought this place would be lovely to go for some new recommendations, but will never return due to the attitude and literal side-glances I received while browsing the shop. Spirits of Madeira is far friendlier and you don't have to throw on your designer clothes before you enter.

Best selection of wine and cheese in the city. If you're looking for Italian wines they have at least one wine from every region in Italy. Lots of hard to find high end allocated wines from all around ver the world.

I'd like to give this place a better rating because the wines were great and the snacks they served at their wine tasting were excellent but..... Apparently my $25 is not the same color green as that of the other people attending the wine tasting I went to. I was served 4 tastings about 2 tablespoons worth each while I saw other people swanning around with almost half a glass. This happened each time I got my tasting even when it was right next to another person who clearly got an ounce or two more than me.

Piazza Discepoli has been offering "fine wine and food" for 19 years, ever since Guy Discepoli and Marty Piazza opened Piazza Discepoli Wine Merchants in College Hill in 1989. Nearly two decades later, Piazza Discepoli has four locations including the eight-year old Madeira store, run by Piazza himself (Discepoli still runs the College Hill store). I was in the Madeira location yesterday and saw what a great store it is. Sure there are other wine places in the Greater Cincinnati area, but Piazza Discepoli offers great products while providing really great and friendly service. While Piazza Discepoli specializes in fine wine AND food, it's apparent when you walk in that they have their greatest focus on wine. There are all kinds of great wines filling all ends of the store, while there are the necessary accessories to accompany the wine such as cork pullers. You can make a real evening out of their store as they have candles too and plenty of great complimentary cheeses and fancy crackers and biscuits. They had samples when I was in the store of both cheese and fig bread and they were both very good. There is also a refrigerated section with gelato and Good Wives brand foods, while on the opposite end of the store there a ton of cute and colorful napkins to go with your wine and food.Overall it is a really nice store and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The Madeira location is really great, while if you live in or near College Hill, Glendale, or White Oak you can also stop on in and see what the hype is about.

Ive never been to the store, so I cant comment on the retail space or service. That being said my review is regarding a gift basket we received from a colleague.First of all the preparation of the basket was nice, and very aesthetic. I'm sure our friend spent quite a bit of money on this basket, so I feel bad his good intention was so poorly executed by the vendor. Their were two cuts of cheese included in the basket. After opening the cellophane bag the basket was wrapped in, our house was inundated with the most god awful smell. Upon inspection we found the cheese, which was wrapped in saran wrap, not shrink wrapped, was completely dried out along the edges, no not the rind, but a hand cut block. It was speckled with mold, no not a bleu cheese, and smelled so badly we had to throw everything, including the basket outside in the trash. We did salvage the wine bottles after a thorough washing in the sink with soap. Merry Christmas
