Phan-Shin Chinese & Thai Restaurant

The service is friendly, timely and attentive. The menu is comprehensive with plenty of options and the prices are fair. The food was just so-so. I ordered the chicken broccoli and found it underwhelming.

My girlfriend and I got a table at Phan-Shin and the service was great. Apologies for not writing a review sooner as I can't remember what we ordered (I likely got general tso chicken and she likely got some form of lo mein). The food was honestly just alright. I wasn't blown away by the taste, but it definitely wasn't a negative experience. If I visit again, I will likely update this review with more details. The interior was nice and very clean, no real notes there.

Didn't really care for this restaurant. When I see Chinese characters on the menu and the little chili pepper icon, the bar is raised and I'm expecting something very exotic and as spicy as I want it. The recipes may be 'authentic' as to the owner's family but they are very much Americanized. I'll go further in that they are Oxford, Ohio-ized and let's just leave it there.The spice level is non-existent, and it's their policy to not ask you for a spice preference. They go on the assumption everyone wants it bland. The owner also took pride in telling me their food is 'healthy ' due to using very little oil and salt. Which explains the bland taste and the toughness of much of the meat in the dishes we got. You will not find any chili oil here although they do have a chili paste condiment but it was weak.The names of the dishes called to mind others I have enjoyed elsewhere but they are not the same. Chili Wontons are served in a (bland) broth with a little chili flake on top. "Lamb with Cumin" bears no resemblance whatsoever to the Szechuan dish known as Cumin Lamb. It does however resemble a dish full of chopped sweet onion.It was bright and modern looking inside. Service was not good, never checked on. Bathrooms are a long way off. After learning of their position on spiciness I got a Pad Thai to go and I asked for the maximum 10 out of 10 spice. This was a bare flicker of heat. Happily I had some Thai spice at home and was able to salvage it.Yes, it's cheap, and you get what you pay for.Phan Shin might be a good choice for someone taking their first tiny steps to venture from Egg Foo Young and Chow Mein on the way to more authentic cuisine. Maybe it's for you, but it's not for me.

I feel the food has changed since in the new building not quite as good as it used to be . Still love their egg rolls some of the best. Service is good and building and restrooms clean. I usually get Thai spicy noodle bowl extra spicy or orange chicken. Both are good.

Go here for the lunch specials - plenty of delicious food for only a few dollars. You really can't go wrong here, I haven't had a bad experience.

I was craving some Chinese food so after grocery shopping I made a quick call to Phan Shin to order lunch. The woman on the phone/working the register was super sweet and bubbly. Phan Shin is open for pick up and delivery, dine in is still closed. They have a plexiglass wall up between associates and customers. Associates wear masks and gloves. Customers are required to wear masks. I ordered a lot of food, I always do when I order Chinese. We got an order of Coconut Cream Shrimp w/o Steamed Broccoli, Bourbon Chicken (Teriyaki Chicken), Orange Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Crab Dragoons. Everything was amazing! Coconut Cream Shrimp is one of my favorite dishes but it's hard to find. At Phan Shin it comes with Steamed Broccoli (I'm not a fan of broccoli so I opt out and add rice). It's so delicious, could not get enough. I could of just ordered that for me and been happy. Bourbon Chicken is or kind of is just teriyaki chicken. The chicken was super tender and the veggies were cooked perfectly. Veggies include carrots, shoots, snow peas, mushrooms, broccoli, and onions. There may of been something else but I can't remember now. The Orange Chicken was super tender too and had great flavor. The Crab Dragoon's were very good but had a veggie in them that I wasn't used to but I'm not sure what it was. Sweet and Sour chicken is always bomb. They add some pineapple chuck in with it and it's so yummy.

This place is absolutely amazing. From the kind and attentive staff to the delicious food it was the perfect mid day lunch for my friends and I. We ordered an obnoxious amount of food because of how cheap and plentiful it was. The lunch specials are super worth it, definitely go and get that deal immediately. We love it here. 10/10.

Good is always great! Eat in or take out. Owners are good to help with gluten free options too.
