I am a local wedding photographer and was looking for a place to do pre-wedding photos for an April 2010 wedding. The ceremony/reception venue was nearby in Loveland, but we wanted an outdoor location for some pre-wedding photos. So, I was checking out local parks - until I discovered Peterloon. WOW - that's all I can say. The photos we took before the wedding were beyond gorgeous - so many amazing places to take photos here. And we didn't even go around most of the property - we mainly took photos in the side yard and front. The stairs were perfect to show off the bride's train and do photos with her maids. The front steps worked great with the guys. Even the long drive in gave us some awesome photo opportunities. Peterloon does weddings - and I'm sure they are spectacular events. We were lucky enough to see a little of the house - the inside is as gorgeous as the outside. Definitely one of the most beautiful places for a wedding/reception or photos! I hope to return soon and often.

Peterloon is an absolutely gorgeous estate. I went there for a charity event, but they also accomodate weddings, showers, meetings and usually for one month a year they open it for tours. The grounds are amazing, beautiful terraces, patios and architecture. It is not air conditioned, but when we went on a summer evening, it was not too hot.I'm not sure how 'secret' they like to keep their secret passageways, but the groundskeeper definitely did not tell me about them when I asked. Once you're there, it's very obvious to see a 'hidden' 2nd floor from the exterior and from the library. It's also easy to tell when you're taking the stairs from the first level to the bedroom level that you're going up more than 1 story. I wonder what they did in there!?! My guess is that it's nothing nefarious, but rather a more cozy home quarters for the family that lived there. The rest of the house is just too grand to live in like a home.Overall Peterloon is a great place for an event. Especially for those who like more classic and traditional buildings than modern. Lots of really neat Cincinnati history!

One of the most beautiful venues (if not the most beautiful) I have ever seen in Cincinnati. Until this past weekend I never even knew this place existed. We were here for the Greenmarket Community Dinner. Vendors set up in different rooms of the mansion and there was also a stunning white tent in the garden. The entire time we were walking around I felt like we were in a dream. Everything was so lush and green. The oil paintings of the children on the wall, the antique furniture, this place is astonishing. Each room is perfectly preserved and the caretakers keep this place immaculate. For being over 100 years old I could not believe how clean and what such good condition this place was in. We got to tour the old estate, and even walked down to an overlook to the Little Miami River. This is the perfect venue for that unforgettable Gatsby-like wedding or event. It will cost you a pretty penny, but it will be worth it.

Peterloon was a beautiful estate and a wonderful place to attend a party. I had no idea that it even existed all the way back there in Indian Hill! I will now recommend this spot to anyone looking for a big venue in Cincinnati - wedding, etc. It was a magical place! I was really surprised to learn that there are only 2 older caretakers for the entire estate. They clean the house and they mow the lawn (said it takes 4.5 days), all without any outside help! WOW.Be wary though, I've heard there is no A/C. It was a very nice day when we attended, so I didn't notice any heat, but I imagine that could get pretty bad in the middle of summer!

I came here for a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraising event this weekend. While I had been here the year before (for same said charity event), I had forgotten how absolutely beautiful this estate is. The house itself is enormous, but still manages to feel intimate, with beautiful terraces and patios popping up randomly. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and everything is exquisitely maintained. Beautiful setting to hold a special function.

This is a beautiful place and amazing for photographing but this is private property. We did visit and took a couple photos. We knocked but no answer and then saw a gentleman calling someone on the phone. We then decide to leave and stopped at another building inside the Peterloon property to find out from another that they rent these buildings and the owner does not like trespassers and the police are called a lot. They don't know why people are showing up so please be cautious and considerate. This might not be the best place to schedule an appointment unless you talk to the owner first.

ABSOLUTELY CHARMING! Peterloon made all of my wedding dreams come true. My first attraction to this venue was the fact that you could have every wedding event in one spot - ceremony, cocktails, and dinner. Upon visiting Peterloon we were in love -- the charm is unmatched. We had our ceremony in the sunken garden, cocktails inside/outside, and a tented reception. The following really made the day spectacular:- Jamie and the Peterloon staff went above and beyond to meet any needs we could have.- After a rainy week the grass drained really well and pavers were perfect for the reception.- The air conditioned bridal suite- Ability to use baby grand piano- Fans in house- NO CICADAS SOMEHOW!- Working with Samantha Joy Events - she knows everything there is to know about Peterloon!Despite being a 90 degree day, guests were mostly in the shade for the ceremony and could cool off in the house all night long. If you have any hesitations - I truly think a rainy wedding at Peterloon would still beat a good weather day at any other venue! Thank you for everything, Peterloon staff!Photos: Megan Noll Photography - the best in the biz!
