My first time eating here. For being a 68 yr old family business that has survived the ups and downs of the economy, this place is a gem. It is a diner that serves diner food. Yes, there are fancier places to eat breakfast, but you should not expect more when you walk into here. That is why I'm giving them five stars. They met my expectations perfectly. The waitresses were friendly and talkative, and even the elderly Marine who was busing the tables spoke to everyone. -- As far as the person who reviewed this place 30 days before me and accused them of racism... That is a bunch of baloney. I saw ALL people being served. Some would walk in and greet each other like it was a Cheers bar. Go and enjoy a neighborhood diner!!

Don't need to mention the smoking as that topic has been mentioned a lot. Still unbelievable though in the year 2024 people smoke in public. Smokers haven't changed much over the years, still selfish and oblivious to others being able to breath fresh air. The clients in this place look like a scene from the Mickey Rourke movie Barfly or perhaps the bar scene in a Star Wars movie. Stopped in as I never had their chili and this week is Cincinnati Chili Week! Chili not too good as possibly food service. The cheese tasted freshly grated, however. Knocked this one off the old bucket list!

Terrible staff and management. Sat down and was not served. Everyone that came in after was serviced. Was told they do not serve black people. Another server apologized for the situation and confirmed they indeed discriminate based on race. She was tipped $100 for her honesty. And left. Do not eat where you are unwanted simply based on the color of your skin. I pray this place gets shut down.

This place would get 5 stars from me except for two things . . 1. Smoking - there is smoking allowed in the dining room. As a non smoker it gets brutal if everyone is smoking especially when the non smoking section is rarely open. 2. I got food poisoning from here the one time I ventured away from my usual - learned my lesson. Besides the above I love the country fried steak from here! It is delicious and cheap for a dinner that will fill you up . My mom loves their breakfast which is also inexpensive. She loves their pancakes and omelettes. The staff is always nice ! I don't recommend the Mac and cheese or the meatloaf as that's what I think gave me food poisoning .

We came here on Easter and the employees were wearing bunny hats which was fun! I ordered the biscuits & gravy breakfast which came with a side of hashbrowns, which I got loaded (ham, peppers, onions, cheese). I also got a side of goetta since it's a Cincinnati classic and it was my first time in the city! Loaded hashbrowns were great, I think I'll start doing that when I make my own. I also enjoyed the goetta and the interesting, grainy texture that it has. I definitely got more food than I could finish. My friend got the country ham breakfast and also enjoyed it! It was less than $30 total for both of us combined which is a great deal. I found it interesting that people were smoking inside?

We. Love. Pepper. Pod!! This little mom-and-pop feeling restaurant delivers great service whether through order-ahead or UberEats. We frequently order through UE and consistently receive what we are looking for. In the past, there have been issues of ordering multiples of the same kids menu item and not receiving more than one of that item, but it has not been an issue lately. Good food, great prices!

As non-smokers, we still found this to be an incredible gem of a restaurant. When I saw the inexpensive prices, I was worried food would be mediocre, at best. However, we found every bite to be fantastic! If we are traveling within 30 minutes of this place in the future, we will definitely return. We are still talking about the delicious omelette, bacon, biscuits and gravy and perfectly cooked hash browns 3 days later so I decided it was time to offer a review. All items pictured were a total of $24 with drinks! Service was fantastic! Enjoy!
