Pepe's Mexican Flavors

A little taken back walking I the door. Looks more like a dessert spot than anything else. There are big bold graphics, reminds me of walking into a gyro joint in Greece. Order at the counter and wait. The staff has a since of urgency and pushing though all of the orders. Its truly refreshing to watch. Ordered empanadas (chicken and pork), steak burrito (not on menu), papas a la Francesca (French fries) and Taquitos dorado (Mexican mashed potatoes). Overall good food for the price. My fiancée and I stopped here on our way back from Indianapolis when we were passing by Dayton. This place is awesome! The food is great and the staff is so friendly. The people that are giving this negative reviews maybe came on a bad day or are just uncultured! Some of these reviews are ridiculous. The food is great and authentic! Give this place some love!

I visited Pepe's as I was visiting family out of town and the taco truck near their house was not open. I ordered a carne asada torta. The torta was really good. The quality of the cheese was solid. I also ordered tacos and a tamale for the wife which she enjoyed. A solid lunch choice.

Best tamales I've had since living in Mexico in the 90's!! Walked into this simple, BRIGHT, unassuming eatery and KNEW it was going to be good; it was FULL of Mexicans looking for REAL home cooking (not sloppy, overly cheeeeeeesy N. of the border interpretations)!! Come here hungry, you'll want to try one of just about everything in this simple, vibrant eatery. Check out their menu ahead of time, if you can, there's a lot going on there. Almost everything is sold a-la-carte, you can pick and choose and make your own "combo," which is what I did at lunchtime on a busy Saturday. I got a chicken tamale (great!!) and a chicken gordita, which was a little tortilla pocket of deliciousness: spicy chicken, chopped veg., and a sprinkling of cheese on top... Yum!! Wanted to try more... They've sell individual tacos, enchiladas, pampazos, tortas (sandwiches), burritos,, soups, and some full meals, but I was FULL!! Next time, I'll be back for one of their HUGE variety of smoothies, fresh fruit popsicles, churros, and more... SUPER quick, friendly service, and VERY reasonable prices. Come hungry, leave FELIZ!!!

Place looks very colorful and clean that's a plus, the lady at the counter friendly that's why they get one star. But the ice cream not good. We got the paleta de chamoy and it tasted like it was frozen for days. We Tried mangonada the worse I ever had starting with the small amount of mando in there stingy! The ice cream tastes like they bought it at the Kroger's, the mango ice cream not fresh nor authentic. I think it was mik base not like the soft mango sorbet. The horchata is good.

This place is expensive, they over charge at the register and the food is ok. You be the judge...

Loud, bright, expensive...not very good food...seemed like an ice cream shop for kids, not a Mexican restaurant....

Fast service and good food. I love the tacos. Everyone is super friendly. The place is really nice too.
