Patty's Old Fashioned Popcorn

I love stopping into Patty's Old Fashioned Popcorn whenever I'm in Hyde Park Square; it's such a throwback little shop with fun snacks, and not so surprisingly, they have fantastic popcorn! What I never expected was that Patty's would be integral to my wedding planning process as I started to identify welcome gifts for our out-of-town guests. As my goal was to put together an overflowing bag of Cincinnati goodness, Patty's staff worked with me on specialty/miniature popcorn bags (go-to flavor: Cincinnati style!). They were the perfect addition to our welcome bags. Don't go to Hyde Park without making a stop!

This place is adorable and the staff is SO FRIENDLY and knowledgeable. Though the place the is tiny, it is stocked full with goodies and multiple flavors of popcorn! They have everything from chocolate to gummies, Harry Potter Chocolate wants and even peanut butter dog treats. The main event is of course popcorn and you can even watch them make it behind the counter. In the front, they have samples you can try before you buy it and if you have any questions feel free to ask the staff. Today they said there signature flavors were the caramel corn and their seasonal cranberry mix that also contains white chocolate.After trying a couple I went with the Chicago twist (caramel and cheddar) and cookies n cream. The cookies n cream even contains bits of oreo throughout the bag!I definitely recommend stopping here soon to buy some treats for the holidays or just to treat yourself! A 7 oz bag of popcorn was only $4.95. Their prices are quite reasonable given the quality of their product!

Wow! I honestly am not even a huge popcorn fan, but this place blew me away! It's kind of like a hidden gem that we stumbled across when we went out for the Hyde Park Blast. My boyfriend and I had friends who live there and we noticed this shop off of one of the main side streets. My boyfriend LOVES popcorn, so initially all we did when we walked by was take a pic outside.However, later that night (at almost 12a that Saturday), we were walking by and they still appeared to be open and music was pumpin.' The owner, DJ, came out to greet us and enticed us inside with a few popcorny puns! He was so hospitable as soon as we got inside. He gave us so many free samples, as he stood behind the counter spewing off the ingredients he uses. I could barely keep up with it all! He gave us an entire bag full of freshly popped corn with truffle seasoning. The base popcorn was good and fresh but the seasoning was too salty for me. However, we spent quite awhile at the taste test bar where he has samples of all of his creations. He mentioned he uses Ghirardelli chocolate for a few of his sweet options. I was sold! There are also an endless array of candies, jelly beans, etc. I also saw a soft serve ice cream machine, but not sure if it was working or if it's something DJ serves regularly. We ended up getting the Cookies & Cream popcorn for me and the Cincy Style Mix for my boyfriend. Truly, I wouldn't have let us leave there without buying something because DJ was so amazing and kind to us. He is an owner that knows how to treat his guests well!Would definitely recommend this hidden gem in Hyde Park. Even if you're like me and not crazy about popcorn, you'll find something you like!

We absolutely love Garrett's popcorn in Chicago... well if you are anything like us and live in Cincinnati and don't have access to Garrett's everyday you have found its match! Patty's popcorn is an old fashioned, popcorn, candy, and ice cream shop quaintly tucked away in Hyde park. The popcorn from there is superior to anything else we have tried of it's kind. We often get popcorn from there to watch a movie at home. They have a large variety of flavors. Some of our favorites include movie theatre popcorn, truffle popcorn, and the cheddar corn. Everything is always fresh and served with fast friendly service. I love having this place so close to home and look forward to many more future visits. Give it a shot if you want superior popcorn!

I visited Patty's Old Fashioned Popcorn a few weeks ago on a visit to Cincinnati. I love flavored popcorn so I was super stoked to get some. I ended up choosing 7oz bags of white cheddar and rainbow. I didn't eat them day of and had the popcorn a half of a week later. The popcorn was still very fresh when I started eating it! I really liked the funkiness of the white cheddar and the rainbow reminded me of shave ice or snow cone flavored syrup. I enjoyed both bags of popcorn and would definitely support this business again if I come back to the area.

Slapstick popcorn, really nice owner who often gives discounts to the wee lil'uns, good pops, insanely cheap candy, you should like, maybe go here or something

This shop literally just won my heart over. The new owner, DJ, is extremely passionate about the products and the shop. He was a doll and an absolute pleasure.My sister and I walked in and were greeted by the extremely friendly DJ. We told him we hadn't been in the shop before and he was ready to help answer each and every question we had. We asked him about what some of the flavors were like, and he enthusiastically described how each of the flavors we asked about were made. I can't say enough about how incredible the customer service was.He told us how he was about to make a new batch off their salted truffle popcorn (very good but rich) and literally made a full scoop for us to try, bagged it up and gave it to us as a free (giant) sample! I couldn't believe that.The shop itself is darling. They had tons of old school candy, and my sister got some candy cigarettes. For the popcorn, they have samples out so you can try each and every flavor before you buy.Then, we proceeded to tell him how much our mom loves popcorn, and he gives us a popcorn ball to take home to her, free of charge! This place was too good to be true.After that, he let's us try the cookies and cream flavor (amazing!) and we were sold. We also got a bag of the regular salt and butter. Really reasonable prices. They have Hawaiian Shaved Ice, fresh squeezed lemonade, and soft serve for the summer!I can't believe I haven't been here before! I will definitely be back!

Old Time popcorn and candy shop. The popcorn is outstanding, the candy selection has something for everyone, but what really sets this place apart is the ownership and the employees. Every time I have set foot in here, the staff has been super friendly, super helpful and just a pleasure to interact with. Around the corner from Hyde Park Square (behind the firehouse), it's a little out of the way, but do yourself and seek this place out for a snack or a treat. I guarantee you won't be let down!

Ordered Bengal's can of popcorn; half yellow cheddar and half white cheddar. Smartly packed the popcorn in plastic bags. Called the day before. Birthday gift for my 7 yr old grandson. Customer service excellent. They made the popcorn fresh. I love Patty's Old Fashioned Popcorn. Highly recommend for holiday gift giving and all occasions. People go crazy over this popcorn. It's that good! My personal favorite is a mixture of carmel and white cheddar.

Stumbled upon this place today!This is a cute little popcorn shop with fun flavors! I got the Yellow Cheddar popcorn and it was delicious. Can't wait to go back again and try some new flavors!
