A unique small town Farmers market that's on the small side. However it's quality and draws not only from Oxford, but surrounding towns. The market is open year around on Saturdays 8-12. I found it to be a bright spot of my visit to Oxford. Parking is off street by meter. Local vendors had everything to flowers, plants, bakery items and even custom made jewelry. The market is dog friendly on a leash and there were a lot of them enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. If I'm in Oxford on a Saturday morning find me at the Farmers Market in Uptown by the city square.

I love the farmers market. When I go I'm not usually looking for anything particular and I always end up buying something or multiple somethings. Everyone there is always super nice and helpful. They are very knowledgeable about their products and clearly love what they are doing. I went last Saturday I think. They have stayed open during this and have been doing a great job with social distancing and still having an enjoyable market. It helps that it is an outside event. We got a couple tomato starts from Stoney Hedgerow Farm. Craig knows his stuff!!! They have these wonderful laminated sheets that breakdown each of the tomato starts they have. My dad was looking for a yellow tomato so we got the Persimmon. Craig sold us on his Sun Sugars. I'd never heard of them before. They are a yellow cherry tomato that are apparently incredibly sweet. We were told that they are something like candy disguised as fruit. I am very much looking forward to these getting fruit. Can't wait. I also got a Sweet Almond Ring and chocolate chip cookies baked by James. I don't remember his last name. I've had his stuff before and it is all delicious. He offers a variety of breads and sweets. Yum yum. The sweet almond ring was amazing. Baked perfectly. So were the cookies. I love me a soft cookie and James knows how to bake them perfectly. They are also the best ratio of chocolate chips/chunks and dough. I also grabbed a bottle of Sangria from Swine City Brewing. I haven't unfortunately popped the top yet but I am very excited about it. First I didn't know they made wine!!! Second I have been wanting to go to the Brewery for a while then this craziness happened. I was excited to see them there. Their bottles look like beer bottles but they are wine. Definitely stop and see what they have don't pass them up thinking it's beer.

The Uptown Farmers Market is a crucial part of the Oxford food scene. 'Nuff said. While a good farmers market is a great thing for any town, it works especially well here in Oxford where we are surrounded by small farms and talented bakers, canners, and picklers. All of the vendors are organic, local, and/or home-spun, and the market operators make site visits to ensure that farm products are indeed as advertised. Home-baked goods and jams by "Just Like Mom's." Olive bread and lemon-goat-cheese pillows by Terra Nova Bread Basket. Pork, chicken, and eggs from Morning Sun Farms. Too many vendors to list here, but all are worth checking out. Handmade soaps, pottery, flowers, and a host of other goodies as well!May - November Saturday mornings until noon. Dec - April: The 3rd Saturday of the month, 9-noon.

Absolutely stunned that such a cool farmer's market could be found in such a small town! JustMoved here and went for the first time this week and, honestly, expected it to be fairly meh but was so pleasantly surprised! All kinds of great fresh veg and fruit and lots of bankers goods but also a lovely Persian family selling falafel, hummus, and babe ganoush, Llamas to have a chat with (I saw a lady having a chit chat - I'll try that next time.) and friendly, smiling people all over the place. It is just such a pleasant surprise and proof that there is so much good around, if you look for it. Lovely!

What can i say about one of the best farmers markets I have had the pleasure of bing both a buyer and seller. My selling days are long gone but I do love to visit and buy the best the region has to offer in local produce, meats-you can get Organic and/or pastured chicken, lamb, pig and cow as well as eggs. Need soap, try one of the several hand made soap sellers. Need bread? you will have a lot of choices and it will all be AWESOME!! How about handmade jewelry, they got that too as well as pottery, textiles and more. There is even coffee and baked goods for breakfast. Don't forget to get one of Norma's pies or cakes!Lets talk produce as that is what I sold there for over 7 years. There are always at least 6 farmers selling stuff they grew themselves because the OFMU don't let resellers in and that is important to any serious locator and should be important to everyone. Even in winter these people show up. Yeah, that's right this market runs in winter every 3rd Saturday (the rest of the year it is weekly) so you don't have to go 4 months with no local goods. But I digress. This market has some great growers, some have been doing this all their lives and others are people who got into farming through other means than it being a family tradition. There is an amazing variety of produce. want tomatoes, you will fond 40+ different kinds. Zucchini? there will be 10+ varieties. Apples, there is one farm that has over 60 different kinds, most heirloom. There are lettuce, onions, garlic, melons, kale, celery, chard, cukes, corn, peaches, pumpkins and much more. And it is all fresh and local. The Oxford farmers Market Uptown is THE place to meet and greet and get great food in the process. After all they are cultivating community.

The farmers market in Oxford is a fun place to go on Saturday morning. I'm hoping in the future that there are more stalls and it is larger. The products that they have are very good and I enjoy shopping there except at times it can be rather busy.

i have been going to the farmers market for about 10 years...love the vegetables, desserts for one, and bread. i have just recently been handicaped in walking (and i suspect dementia also). i went to the farmen's market today driving an enterprise car since mine is in the shop. i lost the keys. a few young boys were wonderful about trying to find my keys and a mr slocum even took me home, or i might have had to stay there. i had left my cell phone at home to make room for more goodies in my purse. enterprise is closed on weekends. i'm stuck at home now and that is where i should be. all this is to say god bless you mr. slocum!!!
