The waitress was very kind, the food was great, and the restaurant is clean and quiet. Great for a birthday!I liked the geisha roll best. The beef yaki udon has great aesthetic though!

Came here for a sushi dinner, not hibachi, so this review is solely from ordering off the menu.Atmosphere: dark, run down, a portion of the back was all blocked off for repair, and when we walked 3 employees were trying repair a light issue right above the sushi bar. Both we were seated were all ripped and table with stickiness on it. Food: expensive menu, mostly standard items for sushi restaurants, we ordered sushi, sashimi, tuna and mango bites which were pretty fresh; soft shell crab good flavor but a little over fried; yakitori, came out with large chunks and heavy sauced definitely NOT Japanese style and the chicken came out dry; spicy tuna phoenix was ok, nothing too special just spicy tuna wrapped with avocado and the plating was a bit messy; pork gyoza came out with poor presentation and tasted so-so. Maybe my standards are a little different from others, as a foodie who has traveled and tasted many authentic Japanese restaurant. This restaurant is shame to be called a "steak house" nor a good "Japanese restaurant". I ordered a hot sake, and it came out warm, NOT hot, and deflated, tasted the alcohol was already half evaporated. Service: the lady who served us was very pushy, she came over almost every 3-4 min to ask us if we want to order more food after we have just ordered 7 appetizers and not all of them were even came yet. I told her several times, we will see how we feel after these appetizers, but seemed she did not understand that. We had the chopsticks wrappers place on the edge of the table for her to clean up, but till we finished dinning, she never cleaned it. Overall, we had a very unsatisfactory experience, we checked out without ordering any dinner items, just had to get out of there. Therefore, @WineDinenVacay does NOT recommend this restaurant.

Osaka is mediocre at best and way overpriced. I was here for a friend's birthday and was completely underwhelmed. We started at the bar and all had some beer and sake while we waited for the party to arrive. They do have a nice bar with a fair selection of beers on tap, but I would expect this from any establishment charging so much for dinners. Once everyone arrived we moved to a hibachi bar for dinner. Each dinner came with a "salad" (pictured) which was basically a bunch of cheap iceberg lettuce with a squeeze of some pretty generic ginger dressing. For dinner I had the steak hibachi. It's cooked up on the hibachi in front of you along with a very bland fried rice whose only real seasoning was soy sauce. Very boring, very bland. The steak was a cheap cut which looked pretty once cut up but again was extremely bland and chewy. No seasoning or any love at all. I unfortunately would not be able to recommend Osaka. If you're looking for good Japanese or Chinese cuisine there are many great restaurants in the Dayton area that have both at half the cost and 10 times better taste.

Tasty dinner and a show. I didn't love the craft beer I chose, but I loved that they had craft beer. Eddie cooked our meal to perfection and the service was very pleasant. I found the place spacious and welcoming. I'd go back.

Got Hibichia filet and shrimp. Food was ok. Veggies aren't traditional Japanese fair, more American with broccoli, carrots and zucchini. Most disappointing was the $5 upcharge on the filet. It's under the pick three option therefore it's not clear. Dont recommend. V

Honestly this place was where my husband and I had our first lunch togather. We stopped to have dinner there tonite. The place looks very different! They have all the tables spaced out, and even got rid of the ugly carpet. The population was pretty sparce. The waitress was attentive and prompt. I did a sunshinrle rol, tuna roll and a green roll. It was pretty all right. My husband did a pick 2 (chicken and steak). We enjoyed our meal and our waitress kept our drinks topped off.General population, I would recommend this place. If you have seafood allergy (like my husband) i would not recommend it right off the bat. We informed them he has allergies, but half way through his meal he had triggered reaction typically associsted with indirect contact (so maybe a tool that sliced shrimp was used to cut veggies). They may not be as familiar with allergen cross contamination.Overall good place unless you have allergies

We had a group of 8 people for hibachi. Although it was really fun, I ordered shrimp and steak for my meal. One couple split steak and shrimp too.My meal consisted of a few veggies mostly onions, 5 tiny steak bites and 6 tiny shrimp. The other couple although splitting a meal got way more food. Disappointed, because I paid 30.00 for a tiny meal. Won't ever be back.

Called ahead before we made the drive to see if there was a wait. We were told no problem not busy at all! We arrive 10 later and are told the chef just started a table and there will be two more tables ahead of us Asked estimate of time, a bit asked will it be 15 minutes 30 minutes? He just kept saying a bit and would not answer- we left!

I ordered a sushi roll and a tempura appetizer to be delivered through DoorDash. they delivered the wrong sushi roll and the tempura was missing completely. even though the bill was $40 the only refund they were willing to make was $10.61. I talked with the restaurant as well as DoorDash. The answer was the same for both. and the item they delivered was less than what I was charged for. So I guess this is a ding on both the restaurant as well as DoorDash. DoorDash is very difficult to deal with. The only point of contact is through their robot on their website. The restaurant found it much easier to make it a DoorDash problem when in fact, it was their error as they prepared the wrong item and omitted the other. I will not be ordering from them again.
