Oishi Express Japanese Grill

I had no idea what to expect when I first pulled in, but dining at Oishii Express Japanese Grill turned out to be a fabulous experience! I got the Bang Bang Roll and a Shrimp bento box. I would order both again! However, next time, I am trying something new because I want to see what else they have! The inside of the restaurant is decorated so cute. It's also very clean. We were served by the owner. She was exceptionally kind and accommodating and I would add an extra star for her service if I could. Highly recommend if you are a fan of sushi and/or Japanese food.

I'd never had a bento box and was looking for something close to home. This is a small place located in a tiny strip plaza on the main drag of 42 in Florence. The setting is casual and perfect for small groups. The bento includes a small sampling of ginger salad, appetizer, rice, sushi and protein. The teriyaki chicken was terrific, as was everything else. I will definitely be back. Kudos for perfect customer service as well! :)

We pass this place weekly & finally stopped in! So glad we did, we will be back. I am giving this 5 stars for a casual sushi eatery with fair prices for the food provided. Service was quick & attentive. Store was clean & organized. Food was fresh, well presented, & tasty! It is a casual dining experience, this isn't a fancy sushi place. Great stop for lunch or a more casual dinner.

Feels homey, and a family environment. Server was very kind, cute little girl running around. Large, but not overwhelming. Tasty food, and pretty good wait time. Overall 5/5!!!

This is a solid 4 star restaurant but I'm rounding up to 5 because it's honestly the best sushi place in the area, so if you're looking for a solid place to get your sushi and teppanyaki/bento box fix in NKY, this is THE place to go. The sushi is ALWAYS fresh, and the flavors are good, and you can just tell they put a lot of care into the rolls. One thing that always amazes me is how neatly the rolls are made and how the rice ratio is absolutely perfect every time. I feel like the sushi chef MUST be a perfectionist like me :) They ALWAYS get my order correct and I've been here at least dozens of times. We have gotten so many dishes and everything is always so good.These are our go-tos:Sunday Morning: they roll and fry these to order and it's always perfectly crisp, hot, and cut every time. I love the flavors of this roll. I always get 2 (one without the spicy mayo and one with, since some of my family members don't eat spicy but even without the mayo, it's great).Megan Roll: is another go-to now. One thing I also appreciate is that their shrimp tempura is perfect every time and you never have to worry about the tail, so it's all shrimp. The flavors are great and the salmon is always fresh.Philly Roll: Again, fresh salmon, perfect fish/cream cheese/rice ratios make a solid roll. Alaska roll is similarly wonderful with avocado instead of cream cheese. One of my kids like the California Roll as well (but they're crab stick style, not crab mix so not a traditional CA roll from CA so I don't usually eat it)--we always get the 3 Rolls special as you get some savings ordering 3 at a time.Umami Roll: we really love the torched salmon on top. Always bring out a different but nice flavor to a roll with salmon (can you tell I love salmon?). A bit more torching on the salmon could bring out the smoky flavor even more but it's still very enjoyable as is.Filet Mignon Bento: The meat is delicious and well made. I love the broccoli that comes with it to round it out. I always get the crab rangoons. We usually get the Philly Roll with it.I've visited every 4+ star sushi place in NKY due to having to make many trips out here. Oishi beats them all and is my go-to.

I come here almost every week and mentioned to the chef that I remember curry from when I lived in Japan as a child! This isn't on the menu, but he made it for me today. Incredibly beautiful and just as delicious! Almost made me cry, bringing me back to Japan with my grandfather.

My absolute new FAVORITE sushi place!! We had Crazy Spicy; Bang Bang and Superman rolls and they were fantastic! One of the noticeable differences in this sushi restaurant is there a lot less sushi rice and a lot more of the yummy stuff!Based on other reviews, we can't wait to try the hibachi!

Food is amazing!! As well as the owners are the sweetest! Overall a wonderful place. I got the steak hibachi, was very filling for the large. I took some home too!

In a party of 4, we all got something different and were able to try each other's meals. I got the Godzilla sushi roll, YUM! We all enjoyed our meals. Absolutely delicious food. Came highly recommended and my family and I highly recommend as well. Our thanks to the chef and staff!

I found this wonderful Oishi Express restaurant 2 years ago by accident but it became my favorite instantly. It is small but very personable and welcoming. I have now tried most of the selection of rolls and many of the other dishes offered and always satisfied with the quality and flavors. I always order extra rolls to take home with me as well. I have now been in northern Kentucky for going on 25 years but I lived a lot of my life in San Francisco area and was raised around Chinese/Japanese/Hawaiian cuisines and culture. Oishi is a wonderful addition to my favorite places to eat and take friends/family and surly for anyone seeking good service and good Japanese food in a relaxed environment with very reasonably and affordable prices. Look for me there as I go often.
