The perfect blend of rustic feel, super well trained professional staff, and a great kitchen. Menu found the perfect sweet spot of casual to higher end fare, perfectly cooked. I will not go through analysis of the dishes rather, I will tell you the end result. This place was highly recommended the university of Kentucky parent website. It was my son's birthday, and we drove down to celebrate his birthday with him. He rarely articulates a preference of a restaurant. His best buddy flew into town today and guess where they went? Here. Clearly left an impression on a youth who has grown up with a platinum spoon in his mouth. I think that says at all.This place is a must try.

I had a great last minute bday dinner here. We found ourselves oot for some family celebration and needed a good meal. OBC came through and provided some nice memories.Due to my egg and dairy allergy I struggled with the menu quite a bit but did my best given the circumstances.I wasn't really in the mood for bourbon but my mom was kind enough to share some la Marca with me and that was delightful. I was however truly annoyed by the "check out out iPad experience." It was really an mis match for the dark library esque romantic vibes for me. The last thing I want to do is look at a screen at dinner!We started with the iconic maple bacon, it was fun to try but ours seemed a little over. Our party liked trying the PB sauce but it wasn't for me. The little bread rolls they brought out were fresh and very delightful. After I inhaled an entire roll , later the server tells me they are dusted with cheese. This seems like a missed opportunity as I disclosed my allergies when starting our meal with the server. My parents both ordered the halibut and really enjoyed it, I had the short ribs which I though were just okay- a little dry- the greens were lovely - I came to order the scallops but the server said the risotto had too much diary, ... I should have ordered the ribeye but I didn't think I would finish the whole thing before my early flight. Le sigh. Babe loved his wagu bacon cheese burger. The cinnamon sugar donuts were a lovely finishing touch but I only tried one bite dt my allergies. They were freshly prepared and warm with a couple different dipping sauces. A sample of regional fare with a hint of fusion. Kind of drafty near the door- glad I had my layers .

We were in town for work and were recommended a stop at OBC mainly for the bourbon.Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and patient while we decided what to eat.We had pork belly burnt ends, cornbread, entrees, dessert, drinks. Everything was absolutely delicious!The restaurant was very lively and we had a great time! We will be back when we visit again!

Reservation is a must! We didn't have one so we waited. They are super busy. Food was really great and service was excellent. We had Calamari for apps and wild Mushroom Risotto and Seared Halibut. Were not Bourbon fans so we paired our meals with delish Cakebread Sauvignon. Though we ended up buying 2 bottles of Elijah Craig which per our server was a good brand of bourbon. Btw, they have over 700 bottles of Bourbon! How about that?! and so many delicious cocktails to offer. Our server was knowledgeable and created a cocktail for me. Happy Tummy!

I recently visited OBC Kitchen for the first time, having enjoyed other BHG establishments in the past, so I had high expectations. I'm happy to say that OBC did not disappoint! The ambiance of the restaurant was fantastic, with so many little details that added to the overall experience.For appetizers, we ordered the Thai calamari and Wagyu meatballs. While the Thai calamari was delicious, I wish I hadn't ordered the Wagyu meatballs. They didn't wow me, didn't come out super hot, and the baguette on the bottom was super soggy.For our entrees, we had the prime ribeye with potatoes, truffle mac and cheese, and a kale quinoa salad with grilled salmon. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. We also got a bourbon flight to try which our server was super helpful in describing and helping come up with a list of bourbons to try. We heard that if you want to get into bourbon or are very into it OBC is the place to go.Overall, I loved my visit to OBC Kitchen and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

This place had been on my list of places in Lexington to check out for a long time. We finally got a chance to stop in when a friend was in the area. We enjoyed a really nice brunch. Out of all the items in the brunch menu, the Birria Burito was calling my name the most. While the burrito was pretty tasty, I was a little disappointed with the portion size, and I left hungry. Everyone else really enjoyed their meal.The place seems like it's pretty swanky, and we were definitely not dressed for it. It's like a place to go to celebrate your grandpa's birthday. We sat outside at the patio, feeling a little bad about even thinking about sitting inside. Otherwise, the staff was pretty nice. Overall, good experience. I'd like to come back to try their lunch or dinner menu, maybe dressed a little nicer.

WOW. Best brunch I've ever had! Bloody Mary was incredible and every dish we ordered was literally perfect. Even our 8 month old loved it! Pimento cheese dip, Belgian waffle, crab Benedict and grits. It was worth the drive from Louisville. We will be telling everyone about this place

We came here for dinner on a weeknight and the place was very busy! We loved the dark library-esque vibes.Drink: Better In than Out- well balanced cocktail! They have an excellent selection of Bourbons, including bourbon flights. They are living up to their Old Bourbon Country name. We ordered the Short Rib with cheesy grits which came with a yummy salad. The short rib was tender and paired well with the savoury grits.Shrimp Gnocchi with sauteed spinach. The shrimp was nicely cooked and went really well with the gnocchi. It was a tad greasy for my taste, but to be fair- it was described as a butter sauce.
