Northern Ky Ice Center

I felt this event space deserved an updated review, see updated posted photos. The older reviews were old=1 yr-10 yrs old and upon reading them before arrival I was horrified with the upcoming visit & what we could expect. Don't get me wrong, this place needs work, but it's not as bad as it the "years ago reviews" or could be. We played a high school hockey game here, visiting from out of state. It was extremely cold inside, and I've visited A LOT of rinks over several years. There were mounted heaters above the stands, but they weren't on or did not work. I didn't visit the locker rooms or men's restrooms but told they reeked of urine and were very dirty. The ladies room in the rink area had 2 extremely small stalls and very dirty toilets but had necessary supplies. There was just an excessive amount of rust with any steel, screws, or supports, questioning the stability. Parking was minimal, with overflow needed across the street area businesses. Luckily it was a Sunday so no issues. The staff/players/parents we encountered were all nice.

This place is disgusting. I can't believe it's still up and running. The smell of bleach or whatever that's burning our eyes is clearly masking the smell of mold, mildew and stench of urine. The locker rooms have carpet on the bench that haven't been clean in years. There is rust everywhere. Not just a little it's fully caked on. You're not sure where to touch or hold onto when sitting on the bleachers that's rotton iron and wood. I am shock health inspector have not closed this place down. Or the owner must have paid them off.

I would highly recommend the skating program. Really good. Also, the american pie show is really good, and the people made a huge effort. But, the skates are absolute crap. BRING YOUR OWN IF YOU PLAN TO LONG TERM SKATE HERE!!! Unfortunately, it is really dirty and old. Please fix the parking lot. It is extremely hazardous. If this place got remodled, I would give it five stars.

I don't know how this place is rated so low. It's definitely not the prettiest but when your ice skating I don't really think that matters. They take good care of the ice and it's never very crowded so you can have a lot of room to practice. The music is always good and they have a small concession stand with amazing hot chocolate. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because when you want your blades sharpened it can be a wait or sometimes the person isn't there at all but other than that I love practicing here!

We were there for a hockey tournament last weekend. It has an ice rink that is all I can say. Owner obviously does not want to maintain the property, fix or clean anything. Bathrooms and the locker rooms were disgusting. During the game is was raining on the players on the bench through the ceiling. It was also the coldest rink of 10 we have traveled to over the past few years. There were heaters in the ceiling above the stands but they were not turned on, likely broken. Parking lot a total mess. Really bad. If you bring your kids for a skate make sure the are bundled up and don't use the bathroom. Maybe the owner will see this review and actually do something about the problems.

They should have torn this down along with Hara and Cincinnati Gardens. But it is ice, so there ya go. The place is dirty, seating is petrified wood that hasn't been cleaned in ages. Restrooms are not kept up. I just pray I don't catch something everytime I'm there. The ceiling is falling in, even places they can reach to stuff the insulation back up, they don't. The parking lot is one big pothole, grass isn't mowed.

Not great. Dirty, old skates. Teenagers that worked there were nice enough, but the place was run down and definitely hasn't been taken care of super great.

This rink is a fire hazard. I swear you need a tetanus shot just for walking in. The back of the bleachers are rusted and someone is going to fall through. The whole place needs bulldozed. If I could give it a negative star I would.

The Northern Kentucky ice center is our favorite place to skate! The coaches are far and away the best in the area. The staff works incredibly hard and they are so friendly and helpful. My whole family loves coming here!

It may be a little rough around the edges but I actually like it better that way. Honestly it feels so chill. The ice is just fine which is the main reason people go to ice rinks right? It works for what I want and what I need. The people are nice, they even have an ice guard during public skate which is super cool. Don't judge a book by its cover. Maintaining an ice arena is expensive so it makes sense that somethings aren't kept in pristine condition.
