Newport Syndicate

We went for NYE 2024 and it was a good time. There was a good age range and two rooms open so you could bounce back and forth. Only downside is that one side had a smoking room so as people came in and out, the room got smokier and smokier.

We had my son's wedding reception here. A couple of things were disappointing for me. When all the guests arrived, they were supposed to have two bartenders and there was only one which meant out guests had to wait in a long while just to get their first drink. Their sound system is only good if you want to have a dance party there. Many of my friends said that they could not hear my speech as well as some of the other ones. I ended up having to send them a written copy of my speech later. While the speeches were given, they did not turn the music completely off. Then when the music played it was so loud that many our guests couldn't have a decent conversation. The final blow was that they ran out of the buffet food for a table of three very very dear couples. Very embarrassing. They hobbled something together but that is inexcusable especially since they said that they usually have so much food left over that they donate it. You can't do receptions over again.

We were married at the Syndicate in March 2019.Obviously, the venue has an amazing and unique style - that's one of the first things you notice about it, and it's best seen in person. We were married in the Grand Ballroom and had our reception in the Ambassador Room, so our guests got to experience the whole place. We had around 250 in attendance, and there was plenty of room for them.During the planning, Betsi and Sam were helpful, energetic, and organized. They are both knowledgeable and they really put in the effort to make sure we had everything we needed. If I have one piece of advice for couples, it's to make sure you do your part to stay on top of communication, because there is always a lot going on here.On the big day, they were on top of everything, attentive to our needs, and made sure all the vendors and wedding party were where they needed to be. The entire event went off without a hitch, thanks in no small part to their diligence.I especially want to call out Betsi and the chefs for going the extra mile with our food. We wanted to go all-vegetarian, and there weren't that many options available on their "stock" menu. Betsi and the kitchen worked with us - we traded recipes, Betsi arranged special tastings, and we iterated until we landed on the perfect menu, which they found a way to make for us without any extra cost. We got tons of positive comments about the food and couldn't be more grateful to the Syndicate for going out of their way to make it so tasty and memorable.

Great place for a multitude of events! Plus, I lost my wallet here and it was returned to me with everything still in it. Couldn't be more pleased with the service and spot.

This is beautiful event space. They are very flexible with what you need, and really do try and tailor things to how you need. The atmosphere is gorgeous, and there are multiple rooms/setups to choose from! Most recently I attended a job fair there, which utilized almost the entire space. The basement would be a really fun place for a party, as it is darker and a little less flashy. The main room is absolutely beautiful, this is perfect for a wedding or reception. There are a couple small side rooms/bars that are great for a meeting or small gathering of people! Definitely going to be keeping this venue in mind!

I have gone to the Syndicate for New Year's Eve 2 years in a row because of the entertainment and atmosphere of the place. The place rocks! They have 3 different types of music to listen too. The Griswalds on the main stage, a dueling piano in the dueling piano bar and in the basement a rocking DJ! Service is excellent and I'd highly recommend going to here for New Year's Eve!!

Very disappointed in venue for my son's rehearsal dinner. The entire process very disconnected and lack of communication. Said there would be several tastings in summer and only had one but we were not told until I called (we were told we would be called). We had planning meeting, went over EVERYTHING and 2 days prior we were called apparently the information was not wrote down. Night of, NOT told of parking issues, the "up charge" dessert option had Milano cookies (I could have gotten from Kroger)., y try hey told me chocolate covered strawberries however no chocolate strawberries there. And my second glass of iced tea was severed in a MASON jar- stemware for everyone else!! Really??? No other event that night so I know the glasses were not all dirty. Very disappointed and shocked regarding the serve from this establishment!!! Think twice before booking!

Some friends and I just attended the murder mystery dinner.What a BLAST!!!Good bourbon, a delicious dinner of chicken marsala, vegetable lasagna, carrots, rolls, salad, and dessert. Analyzing the clues to solve the mystery was a lot of fun and lots of laughs. Also... the dueling piano bar after the mystery makes for a pleasant ending.An excellent night out.We highly recommend it!!

Went for the murder mystery, horrible experience. Completely unorganized, didn't seem like anybody knew what was going on, food was OK but not redeeming enough for 2 stars.

the murder mystery was honestly a joke. very poorly executed and not organized at all. the paper the host gave us didn't really make sense according to who committed the murder. some people said they got different clues. the food was fine, but not good enough to give it another star. would not recommend this.
