The best Indian food in Cincinnati by a wide margin! However, perfection does take time. I wouldn't recommend going there is you were in a time crunch. However, the wait is always worth it! I drive past 4 other Indian restaurants to get to New Shaan!

Rubbed me the wrong way when the restaurant refused to refill a dish. 12:30 I waited for a refill. Nothing. It was 1pm when I asked if they could refill and she said no. I can understand if you're close to closing but your buffet is open from 12-3. Additionally, I don't need you to tell us that it's a buffet so I should try other dishes. I like what I like and I paid for the buffet. The full buffet. It's not like it was a different kind of curry I could substitute for the meal. It was the tandoori.

This is my experience with New Shaan and DoorDash so not in restaurant service. Just their customer service for online delivery orders since the add ons are all handled by merchants not DoorDash. At any Indian restaurant I can get a side of onions with masala (very common Indian way of eating this with your food) for free and I added a note and was charged $3 extra. The meal itself was $14.50 and you're charging 20% of that for a side of sliced onions? That is absurd when an entire bag of onions costs $3. I would not order from here again for DoorDash. I get Indian food delivered all the time from Taj Indian and never get charged and they give a HUGE amount and include jalapeño peppers too. They are just taking advantage of delivery orders. The food is good though that different than many others Indian spots in the area so I will continue to get my food from unusual spot when DoorDashing so I am not unexpectedly charged extra.

We enjoyed a great Indian meal at New Shaan. It has a bustling carry out business but we ate in. The food was very good.We started with Chicken Pakora, which was served piping hot from the kitchen. Delicious! For entrees we had Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry, along with garlic nan and rice. It was all excellent - the meats were tender, the sauces mild (as we ordered) and so good. The 3 of us enjoyed, even hubby for whom this was a first-time-having-Indian food experience.Ambiance is minimal - it's a nice clean strip mall restaurant, and the employees are very nice. Our dinner was not quick, but we took that as a sign that everything was freshly made to order (not precooked and reheated). We ordered "mild" on everything but I think I would up that a notch next time. Definitely try it out!

Great food, super friendly owners! I get take out here every few weeks and it's always hot and fresh. I love their lamb curry. A hidden gem on Red Bank.

This is an addendum to my original review. As I sat waiting for my food tonight, I checked Yelp to see how Kellie was doing, and I noticed that not only had her review been put in the "Not Recommended" pile, but it had been removed from the site altogether for violating Yelp's Terms and Conditions policy. Honestly never seen that before. Way to go! I'm the words of the great Clark Griswald, "Yay, though the Hindus speak of Karma..."

Really good saag paneer and the chicken makhani is pretty good too. Super clean restaurant. Could use some decor to make it a nice place to sit. My one request...please stop using green dye in the chutney. I love that chutney but cant eat green dye. It's really toxic and unnecessary.

I had to try the restaurant because of all the positive reviews. Now I understand. The food is exemplary: authentic Indian food achieved by using fresh ingredients and a complex combination of spices, with no shortcuts. The chicken curry was fresh and delicious. The poori was authentic -- you could tell it was made in house -- and the mango lassi was excellent. The person at the counter was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I was considering it for a venue for a once-a-month dining group I organize, but unfortunately the restaurant was too small to accommodate it, and didn't have public restrooms. But I'll come back for carryout for myself, and maybe occasionally for their lunchtime buffets. This is a real gem!!

Randomly stumbled upon this place & i'm happy i did. Have only tried the buffet so far, but everything from there was pretty good. This particular day was saag choley, punjabi curry, chicken curry, chicken tikka masala & shrimp vindaloo. Everything was pretty cool, only thing for me is if i ordered them separately, I would go up on the spice level. Aside from that, the customer service was good. Not too much of an ambiance, but it's okay since i'm there to eat & go on about my day. Would definitely try again when I'm in that part of town
