New Garden

I love the charm and ambiance of the old town restaurant. Our server was kind, sweet and friendly. The eating area is quite small but sort of adds to the charm. Food was good but not great. There were three of us and we ordered from the lunch menus. Portions were large and generous, all the food was fresh, flavorings were just not excellent, good, not excellent. We enjoyed our time and the place was hopping with take out orders. There was a non stop line of people coming in to pick items up. I would probably eat here often if I lived close. But I won't drive a long distance to visit

I'll start by saying that the family who owns/runs the restaurant was extremely nice to us and made sure we had everything we asked for. They came back many times to refill our drinks and make sure we didn't need anything else. Our food also arrived timely and warm. Inside the restaurant is a quaint environment with cozy booths and tables that were all quite comfortable.As for the food, their presentation was very nice and inviting! It wasn't the best Chinese cuisine I've had but not the worst either. The appetizers (dumplings and crab rangoon were actually fairly tasty) but the orange chicken we ordered (not pictured) had a very strange aroma to it just before biting into it and then didn't actually have much flavor at all. I ended up ordering the sushi because many of the positive reviews talked about how good the sushi was. I'm inclined to disagree though. I ordered the Dragon and Sunday Morning Rolls (usually two of our go-to's anywhere we go) and they both were warm and mushy in places they shouldn't be. The salmon in the Sunday morning roll tasted like it was maybe smoked salmon from a package instead of fresh raw salmon and the inside of the dragon roll (which is usually cold and fresh) was hot and mushy. This was an out of the way place for us that some friends chose so I don't see us going back but if we did I'd probably get just the appetizers again. Those were actually pretty good.

Egg rolls were very good. Pickup was fast. Order was right! Food was warm and tasty! I had crab Rangoon and hunan beef.

Well priced food that hits the spot, especially when you're craving that salt and MSG. The sushi here is a hidden gem, and isn't available for online ordering. Don't miss out on it though, call your order in or stop by in the restaurant to check availability! It's 100% worth the extra steps, with the Sweet Potato sushi roll being my favorite I have found in the tri-state.

The food for me like the flavor and it didn't taste like your typical Chinese American food.

The service was good, but the food was just OK. We had salmon sushi (pretty good) and I had beef and broccoli.

Food:We ordered an assortment of maki rolls. The fish was fresh, but we found that most of the rolls had the same flavor profile. The eel roll was packed full of eel and avocado. The rainbow roll had a really yummy sauce on top which was a nice twist. We weren't the biggest fans of the spicy tuna and the volcano roll was underwhelming. One other note was that the content of most of the rolls weren't explained on the menu picture or online ordering platform. I'd be curious to go back and try their Chinese menu sometime!Wait time:We ordered carryout sushi on Christmas Day and they said it would be done in 20 minutes. When we arrived, they hadn't started making the sushi and said it would be an additional 30 minutes. When we came back 30 minutes later, it was an additional 20 minutes. I understand it was Christmas and they were short staffed, but it just took much longer than we were anticipating.

Really good food -- we've had sushi as well as other items -- big portions Recently went for a special bday dinner and they did not disappoint Try it out -- you'll be back

I loved New Garden. Fort Thomas doesn't have much too eat but the few things they have are worth your time!!! The people who work at New Garden are friendly and willing to answer any questions. Not to mention the decor. It feels invite and cozy. If you have the chance go to new garden. You will not regret!!!!

If only the food tasted a bit better, then this would be our go to Chinese restaurant. The price, quantity, and service for our take-out order was great. We got a mix of family favorites to try including: sweet & sour chicken, chicken lo mein, Szechuan Beef, Crab Rangoon, and Wonton soup. The crab rangoon were nice and crispy, but like most of the items they lacked flavor. We'll give the place a second chance in the future and try their sushi menu. For now we'll drive a little further to find tastier Chinese.
