Nasu Japanese Steakhouse

I've come here many times mostly sitting on the habachi grill side. However this time we sat on the normal seating side. Honestly this was way more convenient because you can order the same food that's on the habachi side without the clanking. We were sat quickly and served in a timely manner.We started with the crab Rangoon and you get 6 and they were fabulous! Most of the table got the typical hibachi meal and it was also great as always but my mom got the chicken/shrimp teriyaki and she thought it was great but said if she did it again she'd just do the shrimp. Like usual we had leftovers so a nice portion!

The service was amazing as always! The music was also particularly good, not too loud. The food was very delicious, although today's visit granted my mom and I a free meal! We sat in the restaurant area today, and I had ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box, and my mom ordered the Chicken&Steak Hibachi dinner. We get our usual house salad, miso soup and gyoza (all were very fresh and delicious) and soon comes my mom's plate. Mine seems to be running behind, which I am okay with as I am just chatting my with my mom. I didn't get her name, but she was very apologetic about my meal being mixed up and brought me the Chicken Teriyaki plate as they had made that one without looking at the rest of the order (Bento Box): So to make up for it, the Chicken Teriyaki plate was on the house! I'm very great full that Nasu staff is attentive to things such as wait times for meals, and my mom and I really appreciate the extra plate! I will always recommend Nasu for a delicious dining experience!

We arrived at Nasu Japanese Steakhouse a little before 6 pm on a Saturday. Friends were on their way to meet us. We were going to a show in Newport at 8 pm.FYI - they don't take reservations for parties under 8 on the weekends.I put our name in for a table. I found out while we waited that our friends wanted to sit at the hibachi. I mentioned this at the front and was told it would be a 45 - 50 minute wait. The wait, unfortunately, was not going to work for us. The folks at the front were very accommodating with our wavering. I understand the restaurant used to be a burger joint. If I hadn't known, I wouldn't have noticed. The decor was decidedly Japanese.We were pleased to find out the hibachi meals were available at the table. While we missed the hibachi experience, two folks in our group were able to enjoy a hibachi meal.Our server was very attentive. The food arrived quickly. My Sashimi Deluxe arrived well before I finished my salad. The Sashimi was good. It wasn't extraordinary, but it was quite tasty. I even made a yummy sound or two.Mark had the steak hibachi. He mentioned it was okay. He guessed it would have been better fresh off the grill had we been able to sit at the hibachi table.We enjoyed a leisurely dinner until we realized it was 7:30, at which point we started trying to track down our server for the check. She'd gotten very busy and it took a while. Thankfully the theater was very close by and it all worked out. I'll mention we ended up at Nasu because we failed to make reservations prior to the day of the show. Though dinner was pretty good, if a similar evening pops up, we'll plan better. I'm not sure we'd come back to Namu.

food is always amazing. services is excellent. one of our favorite go tos and their prices are great!

Parking great , customer services is good. $65 for a dinner for 2 plus drinks. Food good! Your typical hibachi experience. Not a long wait to be seated ...we went on a Sunday evening.

Decided to make the drive over and try a new (to us) hibachi restaurant. It did not disappoint!We sat in the regular dining room, as it was no wait to get a table.Nice ambiance here, easy to have a conversation, and nicely decorated.I ordered the tuna tataki for an appetizer, and my wife ordered the gyoza. Both were brought out quickly, and both were really good.For our entrees, the wife ordered the hibachi steak and shrimp, while I tried the filet and scallops. These came with soup and salads. I thought the salad was one of the best I have ever had at a hibachi restaurant. Very fresh, and their dressing was good. The soup was good also. Serving sizes were very good on our meals, and everything was cooked well, especially the veggies on the side for the hibachi meals.Will definitely come back here again, and absolutely worth checking out!

Great food for the price and same goes for the drinks too! Wish there were more sides of sauces provided when we got all the food. The sushi we got was okay, the rice was a little hard and chewy but the fish itself was great.

If you're looking for a dinner place for date night or family night, NASU will not disappoint. NASU occupies the previous Flip Daddy's stand alone building in Newport with a newly renovated modern look. The staff was accommodating with our reservation and service was prompt. Our hibachi chef was friendly and welcoming. I ordered steak and shrimp and it was fabulous. I was surprised how big the shrimp was because most restaurants provide you with the tiniest shrimp. But this place provided a generous amount of shrimp and the food portion was enough to make 2 meals out of it. If you love ginger, you e got to try their ginger sauce. Packed with tangy, sweet and salty flavors all at once. Love this place and will definitely be back.

Marissa was ok. She didn't give very much attention.. But I saw her give plenty to big parties.... Idk if it's Marissa it's the name on the ticket. Thin black mixed girl... with not a very good attitude.

Fresh food, great service. If you want a lively environment, choose the chef cooking in front of you side. If you want a quieter dining environment, choose the regular dining side. Budi is our favorite waiter there. Drinks are great!
