I've gone to Murray Bros. For years. I always get their blend of chili powder, which I use in multiple recipes and rubs. This really is a unique store, besides the spices, each visit is a walk back in time. I see candy that I haven't seen in decades.

This is your old time candy store and lotto stop. They definitely do the lotto business as most people coming in & out are purchasing lotto tickets and scratch off cards. When I called to find out if they carried this candy the associate was very friendly on the phone and if you're looking for any special candy you're likely to find it here.I picked up Goetz here or bulls eyes, carmel candy my bosses favorite, as a treat for his birthday. My Dad loves Mary Jane's so next time I'm looking for some I will find them here.

I remember coming to this place as a kid. The only thing I saw was candy. As I got older, though, I realized that Murray Brothers was about more than just giant boxes of candy you can buy in bulk. They have a nice sized selection of spices and extracts you can buy in bulk, too.I really used to like this place back in the old Surrey Square days. You know, when the inside looked like an old-timey street thoroughfare? The quality has gone down. I took my two little nieces there and let them pick out some bulk candy and some of it was stale, as was the Chinese Five Spice blend I got.I don't want to give up on this place, for nostalgia's sake, but I probably won't be making any more special trips.

This store always brings back memories for me so when I'm at Surrey Square I sometimes will stop by. I remember this store back in the old Surrey Square when it looked like an old city street on the inside and there was a Thriftway and Media Play as anchors (God I'm old!). I will agree with previous reviews that the store has gone down in quality from what I remember as a child. I bought a bag of assorted candy that I picked from different barrels myself and I got home to find a lot of the candy was kind of stale/not fresh. It seems like the lottery is their big business and main focus, not candy.Probably will stick to my random drop ins but I probably would not be a regular unless I'm feeling lucky and want to play some numbers.

Was walking past, saw the window, HAD to go in! Besides all the candy your childhood can remember they sell lotto tickets. But lets get back to the candy shall we? OMG!!! They had candy cigarettes! Yes I know that is not PC but screw PC! They had the things I used to pretend were the same cigs my parents smoked. They had pixie sticks! They had stuff I haven't seen since dinosaurs roamed the earth! And they had barrels where you could take a brown paper bag and load up on whatever loose candy they had that you wanted. Can you say Tootsie Roll pops and peppermints for days? And at great prices. Plus the owner at the counter was the sweetest lady to talk to. Oh! They also have spices that you can buy as much or as little as you want too. This store is just too much fun :)

Talk about a walk back in time! I grew up in this neighborhood. When I was a kid, this was Surrey Square Mall and Murray Brothers was inside the mall. I can't go in this place and not get a pickle from the jar. This is mainly a lotto shop now and with only one employee today, there was a bit of a wait. If you're looking to buy loose spices, this is a great place for that as well. Besides all the lottery business, this is very much an old time candy store.

Stopped in here the other day just because and I still love the place. Every time I go in this store I feel like a kid again. Sometimes there is a crowd when people are buying lottery tickets but I don't mind at all. Plus I think they have a separate line. Anyway, they have awesome candy that sometimes you can't always find as well as old favorites. I say get over there and enjoy!

Embarrassing place of business - the owners have left a "Now hiring" sign up for months, and have a stack of applications as large as a phone book, but they aren't actually hiring at all more so as they're abusing the "nobody wants to work" narrative. The owners have no respect for people & their time, and their claims to be such "kind & respectful" people are proven wrong quickly attempting to converse at all outside of lining their pockets. If you want to be disrespected or over charged this is the place for you.
