Milton's Donuts

Milton's Donuts (Carlisle, OH).I am not a big breakfast or donut person, but I found myself craving donuts early in the morning and thought I would give Milton's a try!I'll start with the good. The cream horns, are to die for! It's like biting into a cloud. It just flakes off into your mouth so perfectly, that you question if you even actually took a bite. The apple fritter. The perfect little crunch on the outside, and delicious apple and cinnamon on the inside. Their yeast donuts are huge! You can tell by the photos the clear size difference between the yeast and the cake. The cake donuts were also delicious! The fried sour cream donut was amazing! The not so good. Their glaze is a little heavy for my liking. I can't do the super sweet stuff, and this is a bit much for me. But that is completely personal preference. The fruity pebbles donut was a bit out of my wheelhouse, but I wanted to try it. Not good. The fruity pebbles are soggy, and somehow completely lost their taste. The glazed croissant was a bit of a letdown. It's one menu item that people rave about, and I thought it was just okay. Again, strictly personal preference.The really not so good. I like my cookies crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. But these cookies are hardly baked at all. I'm not a fan. I also ordered one each of M&Ms, Reese's, triple chocolate and oatmeal raisin. I requested a refund if any of these weren't available, (DoorDash order). Instead, they gave me two Reese's, and something that looks like a blueberry white chocolate chip.One of my donuts was completely smashed.I ordered a glazed twist, and was given an original glazed ring. I requested on DoorDash for them to contact me if anything was unavailable. Of course, they did not.Finally, I was charged additional $5.25 extra for the $18.50 dozen. I contacted the restaurant directly, and the woman who answered the phone explained to me that it was because I chose three specialty donuts, and I could only get two. I advised her that that's not what the menu says, and I read the menu directly to her. She then said that she just checked the menu herself, and I was wrong. So she puts me on hold and I hear her in the background talking to someone else. When she comes back to the phone, she then tells me that it's because I got filled donuts and they are also considered specialty donuts. That is not what the menu says at all. Neither the DoorDash menu, nor their website menu. I suggested that they look into that if they can, and she got snappy with me and said she would let her manager know. She told me that they were unable to adjust the price, and, of course, DoorDash wouldn't fix it either. My overall issue with this experience, is the poor customer service. Not calling me with changes to my order as I requested, and arguing with me over what the menu says, and then changing the story when they realized that I was right. I'm not writing this place off by any means, but I definitely won't be spending 40 bucks there again!

Local bakery, out of this world taste! Ordered the 12 random packed box and was surprised at how large all the donuts were. Large variety from cake to yeast to glazed and filled. The chocolate frosted with sprinkles was a marble donut, delicous!!!

MILTONS doughnuts from Middletown have opened a location in Carlisle. The doughnuts are FABULOUS.. they also sell bread, cookies and buckeyes. I have tried several of their doughnuts .. My fav is the glazed cressaunt and the yeast doughnut with white icing and sprinkles. The cherry cheesecake cups and fried cheesecake doughnut were also amazing. Some with peanut butter and chocolate were overpowering sweet. My only complaint is they don't post what's in the doughnuts or the prices... you have to ask.

These are the best donuts I have ever had. Now every time I come to Ohio for a visit my step dad gets a dozen. I had 3 on the plane on the way home this past Monday.

Wow! These are really good. I'd put them right up there with Bill's Donuts. These are larger than Bill's. Good because they taste great and lots of filling. Bad because I want to taste 3 or 4 but can only get two forced down! Ended up cutting them in half so I could make that happen. The apple fritter is larger than what should be allowed! Massive! Location is out of the way for me so I will rarely be there but when I can, I will return. The ladies helping with your selections were real nice too.

There is something very special about Milton's Donuts. Hands down, some of the best donuts and pastries available.
