Merkel’s Tavern On Central

Fantastic Wings! I found this place about a month ago. My wife and I have eaten there 3 times since and believe the wings are Middletowns best. The burgers are good along with Poppers. Looking forward to trying other things.

Really thought this might be a good place for our dart League. They let unsupervised young kids run around on the weekends. The Wi-Fi for the remote dart boards goes in and out which was a big problem during dart league. The bartenders don't have a clue. Won't be back

Stopped in here with my bff to try the burgers since a friend said they were good. It's a bar with a game room including pool tables. We placed our order with the friendly bartender & sat down at a booth to wait. Our drinks came out quickly. Within 10 minutes, our food was delivered. I got the 1/2 lb cheeseburger ($8.95) with cheddar, pickles & onion. Potato chips came on the side. Mustard & ketchup was on the table. My friend ordered a 1/2 lb bacon cheeseburger with lettuce & tomato & paid extra for a side of onion rings. We both agreed it was the best cheeseburger we've had in years - thick & juicy! She loved the onion rings. The bartender checked on us periodically. Great service & great food! I may have to try the wings on my next visit & there will definitely be many more visits!

If you're looking for good service, accurate orders, and timely food delivery DO NOT go on Sunday. The bartender/waiter is more concerned with flipping his hair and going outside to smoke than he is with properly dealing with his customers. The food is fantastic if it's not sitting under heat lamps. One person in our party waited 45 minuted for a club sandwich, while burgers and (cold) boneless wings took 25 minutes. Again, the food is amazing if it comes out when it's done.

If you're looking for fine dining, ya better keep looking. If you're looking to have the time of your life in a bar and eat some bar food however, they welcome home!This place has it all! A bar with every beer your pretty little mind could imagine, a kitchen that serves up the best bar grub this side of the Mississip, games galore from darts and pool to shuffle board. Even got touch tunes and phone chargers! The folks that frequent this place and the staff are the life blood of Merkels and what makes merkels the merkeist place around! If ya ever find yourself in the tropical paradise of Middletown, this place a MUST!!I'd recommend ordering yourself a sampling of the menu including jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and wings. Then try to drink one of each beer until you can't remember where you are. Merk it up!

Doesn't look like much as you walk past it in fact I didn't know what it was it's a very soft but up kept place food is great!!!! Out in a timely manner and perfect for taste buds very polite bartender beer was on point and kept my soda filled! Price is fair for what you receive plenty of drinks to choose from definitely my new bar

We heard of the new bar opening in the old Order of the Eagles lodge and had to stop in. The place looks great--lots of exposed wood including a beautiful looooong varnished bar, and it makes great use of this glorious and spacious old building. There are lots of local and regional beers on tap, great games, and the best wings in town. Worth the drive from Dayton or Cincinnati. Well done, Merkel's!

I almost gave this John 4 stars, but as I received my meal which consisted of 10 chicken wings for the low price of 6 DOLLARS, and sat down to the seemingly miniature sized Booths to enjoy their Flavor Packed Meal I realized that I was mistaken, as a customer sat across from me measured at approximately 5 foot 4 inches, and extended his leg to it's full length. Surprisingly It did not extend to the edge of the booth, but fell a few inches short instead. At this moment I reconciled, and realized that their booths were a very adequate size. This is my first 5 star review in my long time career of reviewing restaurants and eateries of many varieties. You could fit 3-4 dwarves on each side of their booths OR a clan of dwarves at a single table. They also have reasonably sized pool tables at their establishment. The $3 chili burgers are immaculate, as they made my taste buds crinkle in orgasm. I felt like Stan Marsh on that one episode of South Park.

Ordered a 1 lb dBm cheeseburger and onion rings. Freaking delishous ! Wife got a club sandwich which was prepared to perfection. And 3 shot of vanilla whiskey...We will definitely be back soon.
