HUGE FAN OF LIVE THEATER! This is a small community theater in the heart of Mariemont. It actually is in an old school house. When you walk into the building, you enter a lobby. In this lobby, there is a place where you can sit down or stand and talk before entering the auditorium upstairs. They usually have drinks and a few snacks provided during intermission and sometimes even before the show begins. On this floor, there are bathrooms. Since it is a very old building, it is built more vertically than laid out horizontally. You have to walk at least two flights of steps to get to where the show is performed. If you want to use the larger bathrooms, they are downstairs two flights of stairs. Last time I was here, I realized there is now an elevator. You can reach that door by going outside of the lobby--such a great addition for those who cannot handle the steps. The theater is very small, as the auditorium holds about 110 to 120 people. It is pretty packed where the show is performed, as the seats are close to one another. There are rows A through G with about 18 seats in each row. There is not a bad seat in the house, but if you are in the front row, you are almost on stage!I love how intimate this theater is. All of the shows that I have seen at Mariemont are high-quality. In fact, those actors and actresses have to be high-quality, as the audience is so close, there is not really room for error. I've seen two shows here in the past year: Harvey and Dearly Departed. Both were great! Looking around the audience, most of the audience members were above the age of 60. Lots of older women and gentlemen, and in my conversations with the people around me, I really do feel like this theater has a large audience of return members. The older gentleman sitting next to me at the last show said he and his wife have been coming to see all the shows here for the past 20 years. He was at least in his 80s. I love seeing the community rally around their community theater and supporting the arts! Thanks for a wonderful time! I can't wait to be back.

I am in love with this Theatre! It gives you that very intimate, absorbed-into-the-show kinda vibe. The building itself is just cool, and... unique? You honestly wouldn't think this building is a theatre let alone anything really... I believe it used to be an old school, as the toilets are about a foot off the ground.... But it's very neat. Good luck finding it as well. Even with my gps screaming at me that it was right there, I felt slighty deceived. In fact you've probably driven by it and not even noticed it. But fyi, the door is in the back, on the first floor, right off the parking lot. There's roughly about 100 seats, set up stadium style on the top floor. If you're in the front row and can just about stretch your legs out and touch the stage. The lighting is very well done, the sound makes you feel more like you're right there than you are, and the whole style lets you be completely immersed in whats going on. The concession stand is also the box office on the first floor. They have soda, coffee, crackers, candy, and other small quick snack foods, for donation. They don't charge you for them persay which is awesome, and makes me want to give them more than its worth. The restrooms are located in the basement in an incredilby neat arched hallway, that makes you feel like you really are stepping back in another time. Supposedly in the boys bathroom you can see where the cornerstone was painted over and it dates back to the mid 1800's. All in all I'm not sure how they could do bigger productions, or at least ones that have more than maybe 4-5 people in them, but I'd love to see them do some new big productions there and pack the house every weekend. It really is a great place to check out if you ever get the chance.

I love this theatre! The quality of the acting and overall ambiance of the performances are outstanding. I am a season ticket holder and generally would never miss a play. However, I am appalled that during the worst covid outbreak that we have ever seen in this area, they are not cancelling performances. Apparently, their love for the almighty dollar outweighs their care and respect of their audience members. I was grateful last year when they cancelled the whole season. I even donated my ticket (4) costs and I would do so again if performances were cancelled. I am fully vaccinated and boosted, however I still don't want to get covid. So, I will not be attending any performances until the covid pandemic has subsided.
