Loved the boba tea and miso soup. The chicken was also pretty good. My only complaint was the egg roll. It's massive, hard to eat, and had way too much cabbage. The wait staff was nice and I enjoyed watching people cook on the large television in the center of the place. This seems like a nice place to stop when you're around NKU.

Walked in the restaurant & it was very very clean, greeted immediately by staff very politely. Waited maybe 6 minutes on our take out. We live 25 minutes away & food was still hot when we got home! the food taste so amazing! Definitely will be coming back here!

While undergoing offsite training nearby, I was pleasantly surprised to find a non-chain lunch offering nearby and promptly decided to visit Maki Asian Bowls for lunch. The restaurant is very clean and decorated with eye catching murals along the walls. There were great lunch specials on offer and I opted for the shoyu ramen, which came with a choice of miso soup or salad (I went for the salad) and an egg roll for $13. I suspect that everything is freshly made, since it took a while for our food to come out. The salad featured a delicious sesame dressing that was outstanding and the veggie egg roll was gigantic and very filling. By the time my ramen came around, I was feeling pretty full, so I brought half home with me. The ramen featured thin pork slices, chopped green onion, spinach, bamboo, a soft boiled egg and wheaty noodles in a thin broth. It was OK -- I've definitely had more flavorful versions -- and it benefited from some hot sauce when I enjoyed it as leftovers the next day. All in all, a good bargain for a lot of freshly made food! I'll be back next time I'm nearby.

I ordered the orange chicken bowl with rice and a order of egg rolls. It took only 10-15 minutes for my order to be completed and it was right after they opened around 11 am. I was greeted upon walking in and had my order taken and was seated while I waited. The waitress/host also got me a water for my wait.I am super picky on my orange chicken and I must say it's the best I have had in years. It was big enough that I was able to eat half during lunch and the other half at dinner. The egg rolls were a meal on their own and definitely exceeded expectations. I am looking forward to coming back and trying everything else in their menu.

My wife and daughter went here today. The waitress told us they had opened only this week! The service was extremely good: prompt, considerate, and friendly. The waitress was very sweet to our little daughter. We got the egg rolls as an appetizer. I am a big egg roll fan and can be a snob about it. These egg rolls were as fresh as can be and quite good. They come with a sauce that paired well with them. Maybe a bit of a splurge for us, but it was worth it.I ordered the Katsu Curry with chicken. It was delicious. It comes with breaded chicken on rice and a Japanese curry. The curry especially was good. I would get this again for sure. The price was also very reasonable I thought. My wife got the Tonkotsu Pork ramen because the waitress said it was the most popular. It was less expensive than a lot of the restaurant ramen we have had at other places. And for the price, it was especially good.We asked for some more lemons for our water and I always appreciate when a restaurant obliges that request. The place has what appears to be hand painted art on the walls, which is nice. There is a framed dragon sculpture on one wall which I remember from when this was the Gourmet Wok when I was a child and I appreciated seeing that again.I am giving a 5 star rating because my meal was very good and the price was right and the service was remarkable. I think the ambiance could use a little work, but I know they only just opened. Give this place a try!

The restaurant was very cute decor wise. The service was alright, they only had one server working the front so you had to wait if you ever ran out of a drink or wanted to check out. The food just meh. The gyoza was the best part of the meal. My partner had the chicken katsu ramen and I had the orange chicken entree. Both of us agreed that the food quality was just not what we expected. The breading on the orange chicken was good and I enjoyed the sauce but the quality of the chicken was just bad. I don't mind dark meat but this was dry and tough. When it came to the chicken katsu ramen, we both agreed that the chicken katsu cutlet was rubbery and the ramen broth wasn't flavorful. It was our second time there and unfortunately I don't think we'll be back for a third.
