Lumenocity 2016 was held at the Taft Theatre this year. What sets this year different from other years is that the light show was indoors this year. And, since it was indoors, they were able to offer more tickets for everyone to come and see the event. In addition to that, there were about three-four shows for each day the event occurred, (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Getting to Taft Theatre was pretty easy, and since there wasn't a game going on that weekend it wasn't super crowded in downtown Cincinnati. Parking lots were easy to find. Once you parked, the block party they had in front of Taft Theatre was easy to get to. There were about five or six food trucks, and lots of activities for kids. There was even police presence throughout the festival. This year, you were able to get a wristband ahead of time once they scanned your ticket to expedite getting into the Theatre. But really, it was pretty easy to get in even without getting a wristband ahead of time. They did a great job at handling the crowd before the show.Once inside, it was easy to find your seat. The show started on time which was great! And, it was only 45 minutes which is long enough to be able to enjoy the music, but short enough that all the kids in the audience would not get bored.Seeing the light show indoors was nice, because the lights came out more vibrant compared to watching it outside projected onto a wall. And, you had assigned seating, so you didn't have to worry about saving your seat ahead of time. If you didn't want to pay to see the show, they also broadcasted it outside where the block party was.Overall this year's event was enjoyable. They had some technical difficulties leading up to the event, but it was solved by the time the event started. (The company they used to email the etickets to everyone somehow had their emails come up as spam so a majority of people did not get their tickets by the Monday it was promised. They updated their website letting people know that they were working with finding a new company to send out everyone's etickets. The tickets were delivered on Thursday night).

Amazed I'm the first to (create/review) this absolutely amazing event. This is the second year for Lumenocity, and it was Fantastic!! I was out of town last year at Lollapalooza, sleeping on a boat, when the inogural Lumenocity happened, but luckily I have a friend that was so impressed that he got Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra season tickets JUST to be eligible for the tix to Lumenocity 2014!The event 2014 had food/beer(Rhinegeist) trucks down Race Street, all kinds of vendors, food and Cincy local craft artists in the treed part of the park. This part was open to people without tix to the actual event, and it was food/art festival that was more attended than anything I've seen in Washington park, and I'm there weekly. The show:The show was spectacular. YouTube it. If you haven't been, YouTube the hell out of Lumenocity, and share it. Make it viral. One of the best symphonies in the world, synchronized to amazing digital graphics, using one of Cincinnati's best landmarks(Cincinnati Music Hall) as a canvas. It is amazing, emotional, and one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time.

Lumenocity is truly magnificent. Using the backdrop of Music Hall from Washington Park was so perfect. The music and light show was magical - I especially enjoyed the Charley Harper tribute. It was so delightful to see his creations fly and run to the music. Glow sticks were also distributed, which was a fun touch. The only aspect that was a bit more challenging was that, while the light show was something of the headliner, there were also presentations by groups like Cincinnati Ballet, but it was pretty much impossible to see from a number of sections. The symphony and light show were easier to see from most areas of the park. The Lumenocity Village, which was open to all, was a nice option, especially since seating was first come/first serve for the show. It was enjoyable to walk around and look at all the different food and art booths and kid activities and to experience the excited atmosphere. The festive feelings put me in the mood for dessert, so I was happy to see plenty of such options - Dojo Gelato, Graeter's, and Streetpops (I'm an ice cream/frozen dessert kind of person, ha!).A terrific experience!

We wanted to get tix to Lumenocity last year, but alas....sold out in minutes :o( This year, however, our friends invited us! They are symphony subscribers, so they are able to order tix before the public. They went early to put out lawn chairs, so we had fantastic seats! You have to attend if you can get tickets!!!! The light show is unbelievable! The orchestra and symphony are amazing! The ballet was supposed to perform, but the stage was wet so we missed out. Understandable, but I would have loved to see the ballet! The crowd was friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!

This was the 3rd year for Lumenocity and what an amazing feat it is bringing the Cincinnati Symphony, Pops, Ballet and creative community together - Brave Berlin creating an amazing event for Cincinnati showcasing our city through music, light and sound! This year's theme, Masters & Dreamers showcased the manufacturing history of Cincinnati as well as the dreamers, creative, artists who make this city happen. The tickets this year, reducing capacity to 6,000 each night made the event much more enjoyable as in previous two years. This was the second year for the village showcasing local artisans, arts organizations, restaurants and craft beer. Rhinegeist made special Glow craft beer with a touch of melon which hit the spot on warm summer night.Thank you to all of the sponsors US Bank Haile Foundation, P&G, P&G Design, The Cincinnati Symphony, Pops, Ballet, Brave Berlin, volunteers and many others who make this spectacular event happen in Cincinnati!

Amazing! This event seems to get better every year. This year they sold tickets at very fair prices and only allowed in half as many people. It was a much nicer experience to not be crammed into the lawn. Loved the show! Get down there and see it!

This is such an awesome event! Loved the Cincy theme this year. The music is great and the lights make it a stunning event that can't compare to anything. The architecture of Music Hall make the best back drop for the show. We will do everything we can to get tickets every year! The village is also a fun collection of vendors and tasty local restaurants.

I've been to lumenocity all 3 years, and this year was definitely a bummer compared to the first two. Not because of the show itself, but because of the crowd and logistics. First the good - the lumenocity show is always excellent! The graphics and music are top notch, and the stories they portray are perfect. This year was definitely more Cincinnati themed, which was fun to see. But now the bad - the fact that you had to buy tickets this year and that space inside the paid area was limited, meant the crowd and logistics sucked. I don't mind paying for the experience, but next year I'll definitely skip paying and watch from outside. We had gotten there very early to put our chairs down and get decent seats, as did a lot of people. We left to get some beers, and when we came back, another group of people had moved our chairs and taken our spaces. They rudely declined to move, even though others seated nearby said they saw the group move our chairs. We ended up having to cram in between people that were there, as did many other people... walking and seating space was very limited. Hopefully next year, they will rethink the seating logistics a little better.
