Louisiana Fish Bar

HORRIBLE!!!!!! Went in tonight for a carry out order. Placed a $30+ order and stood inside waiting while it was being prepared. This place is a mad house...with the employees using profanity-even when speaking with customers at the counter. None of the employees looked like they wanted to be there...even aggravated that they had to do any kind of work...which is really the reason for my review. There were 2 ladies handling the register and bagging the finished food. 2 guys in the back by the fryers. One cooking and the other grabbed a box from the freezer...that's all he did the entire 30 mins I was there. There was a couple of orders in front of me and they got their food and left. The lady in the front is answering the phone and bagging. And answering everyone's questions....younger lady long black hair. She didn't look like she wanted to be there, but was working her butt off. The other lady decided it was time for her break. Made herself a basket of food and walk over and sat down to eat. The guy cooking finished my food and and walks it over and puts everything I ordered on the table where they bag the food. The lady grabs some of the food and puts in a bag...then she's back on the phone taking orders. The other 2 guys are standing in the back area BSing with each other not caring at all about anything else. And the other lady is still enjoying her dinner. After about 10mins of watching this and with my food sitting on a table...I ask the lady-while still on the phone if I could have my order please. And she's says we're still waiting on your shrimp??? It's been sitting there for 10 mins?? I say it's all right there(pointing) and she gets a attitude like no other....grabs the containers and tosses them in a bag and says here u go....with that same shitty attitude. Here's the topper.... I'm standing there, waiting on someone to bag my food. I see the older guy(has a ponytail.) that got the box from the freezer...drops a piece of cooked fish from someone else's basket on the nasty floor. Picks it up and puts it back in the fryer.....15 secs later it was back in that basket, being carried out to a customer at the bar!I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!!!!! Horrible service and of course cold food!

#ReadAllReviewOver the years, I've had fish all over. Local, regional & beyond. I almost tried it in the summer of 2016 as their joint-venture " Murrays" was in Cincinnati's #BURGERWEEK. While Murray's deserves a -1 star (hot beer, hot room, terribly rude bartender, worst burger in the world)... this above average "Fry-house" offers many choices of fish & sides. The price is appropriate for the quantity. Comes with fries/bread/peppers&onions. Very tasty, not greasy, thick meaty pieces! The 2 employees that were there on 2/17/17 at 1:30 pm. were friendly, informative & relaxed. 3.99 stars overallBottemline: it's good enough to drive an extra 5 miles passing a top "Fry-house" on the way. Eat, smile & return! Yum

So, the only reason I came here is because there was no parking available around Alabama Fish Bar. I'd passed the place before, so was aware of the location and let me say: I took one for the team so you don't have to. I got here Saturday around 6pm- no line, no wait, to go order. I ordered a Walleye (breaded) dinner for $10. This gets you 1 large piece of fish with too much breading. I think this is supposed to be corn meal breading- it was not beer batter. Also, soggy fries and a choice of onions & peppers, with 2 slices of bread. I am a seafood lover, so let me tell you with tears in my eyes: this ish was FLAVORLESS.The only bright point were the friendly, efficient staff- nice folks. Looks clean. I have no need to ever eat here again... but the tartar sauce was good.

How on earth has this place not been reviewed yet? So much better than Alabama fish bar. We'd go waaayyyy past Alabama fish bar to get this fish almost every Friday at lunch time (we tried to avoid it at Lent because OMG the wait was FOREVER but sometimes the cravings just got to us and we'd go). Prices are fantastic and it's the best fried fish I've ever had. I moved out of Cincinnati 8 years ago and I still have dreams about this place and haven't found anything near as good in Milwaukee. The fried peppers and onions they serve with it are fantastic. Simple place, family owned. Friendly people. Anybody knows a fish place this good in Milwaukee, let me know.

This place was just not that good. Tried it after a few people told me they had good fish and wings. The first time I went we ordered garlic wings. They were decent, well sized and the sauce was pretty tasty. The fries I ordered left much to be desired. The second time I went I tried the tilapia. It. Was. Terrible. Over cooked, hard, and the breading or whatever had no flavor. I'd ordered a cod sandwich for my aunt who couldn't even fish her meal. I appreciate that they have more fish choices than Alabama Fish Bar, the food doesn't even come close.

It tastes like they season everything in the same batter: Mississippi river dirt. I couldn't tell the difference from the fries, to the whiting, to the okra. Bland and disgusting. I had to smother it all in condiments. I didn't think Alabama Fish was all that until I had this. I am now humbled and I need to make a run out and get something else for dinner. Probably Alabama Fish Bar. Jesus! I just opened the coleslaw and it smells like socks. The bread is even nasty.

Great fish if you can get them to fry it hard. Customer service will make you exercise patients. 5at a time in the store last time I checked.

Service is pretty good except the employees go just outside to the fenced in area to smoke with the doors wide open and are basically smoking inside because the cigarette smoke is blowing right back inside. The smoke gives me a headache. Some of them even walk back inside while still exhaling smoke which make the dining area stink. I won't be coming back here and do not recommend it just for that reason.
