If you're into eating healthy on the cheap, or if you're a young suburban hipster out to compile a list of the best local places nobody else has heard of, you're in luck! Loschiavo's can leave you pretty much set for twenty or thirty bucks. While it's largely a produce market, there are just enough other options to offer some variety in your sparse but tasty diet. The shop, which is about the size of two or three living rooms, has two aisles of fruits and veggies, with various nuts, noodles, soups, and sauces tossed in above and below. There is a small refrigeration unit at the front with milk, hummus, cheeses, and a handful of other odds and ends. The back is your standard deli, with hams, bacons, beefs, and goetta. Go with the Goetta. Not so much because Loschiavo's just does goetta better, but because it's goetta. Goetta is the best. There it is: the whole food pyramid in like a hundred square feet. And always at good prices. They have a little closeout section where everything is a dollar at most, usually tomatoes or celery or something fairly common like that. There is the errant bag of potato chips or candy, but for the most part it's the place to go for inexpensive fresh or whole foods.

Great little produce market and deli! Like Karina wrote in her review, the selection and prices are excellent! I purchased red potatoes and strawberries, as well as turkey for sandwiches and chicken salad from the deli. The chicken salad is homemade and is a little sweet for me, so I'll probably try something else from the salad selection next time. The place is super clean and neat and the employees were very friendly and helpful.

This store is very cute and clean. I found some really good deals in their discount section, and some really nice avocados and snap peas from the main displays. Since this is not a huge store, the avocados were not all squeezed and bruised by hundreds of shoppers. I did not purchase anything at the deli, but it looked like they had a good variety of items, nicely displayed. The only thing that kept me from giving this gem of a store 5 stars is that I prefer to buy organic and did not see anything labeled as such. If they added some organics, this would probably become my "go to" store for all of my produce!

The service is great! I stop in for an old fashioned sandwich often and am able to pick up fresh veggies for my smoothies and juicing. He also has a last chance section that I LOVE.

Think of a Loschiavo's as a year-round, indoor farmers market. With an array of moderately priced fresh fruits and vegetables, this green grocer is a great way to steer clear of chain supermarkets. During my recent trip, I loaded up on red potatoes, huge zucchinis, Vidalia onions, red grapes, and a red pepper--which altogether only cost $10!Loschiavo's also has a small deli that sells meat, cheese, and salads (which look like they're homemade). Additionally, they sell a variety of bulk candy, trail mix, and nuts.

Loschiavo's has been around for years. I always buy my fresh fruits and veggies here, even if it is a little out of my way, because they stay edible longer in my kitchen than produce from big chainy places. (Not to mention shopping here is a great way to stay away from those big chainy places.) They even have a nice reduced price section if you're doing some last minute shopping for dinner and can use it quickly. I've managed to leave Loschiavo's with a 1/2 lb of spinach, two heads of lettuce, a really big bag of green beans, some blueberries, and some of their homemade caprese for under ten dollars. Did I mention they have candy? I remember going into the store with my grandma to buy Sixlets when I was a child, back then all I cared about was the candy selection which, by the by, is impressive. All and all it's a great little store--cheap, easy to find, and the men who work in the summer are strapping lads who are always nice. It may be prudent to point out that they are closed on Sundays as well. Hope you all check it out.

I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. There are only a few things you need to know about Loschiavo's.1. They are locally owned, and operated. This is a quintessential small business!2. The produce is super fresh, and very delicious. 3. The prices were comparable to places like Kroger, but the quality surpasses them.4. They aren't open on Sunday. So plan accordingly.

A bit pricy but super convenient and I like supporting local businesses. I also like their spice selection...which is affordable.

I live out of town and was looking for a place to order party trays for a memorial gathering. I called, the manager accommodated a special request, and my sister, who picked up the order, said the trays were beautiful. The entire process was easy. The quality of customer service and products is superior to any larger store in the area.
