I hosted 20 people here last night, as a goodbye, since they will be closing on March 9. And it was even more amazing than I remembered. They seated us on the second floor in a beautiful solid space with thick wooden tables. Our waitress was wonderful -- she was efficient, knowledgeable, and timely, and had her own efficient system for making sure the orders were accurate (and they were, to the person). And the food was as spectacular as always. We shared each others appetizers and bites of meals, so I had a lot of opportunities to taste. My favorites were the Hungarian Goulash soup, the sauerkraut balls, the brussels and bacon, and the goetta bites (a really spicy sausage, with dip). Among the entrees I loved the Hortobagyi crepes (I could have drank a cup of the cream sauce by itself!!), the wiener schnitzel, and the sauerbraten. It's sad to see this Cincinnati icon go after 50 years. But it was good to savor their unique flavors one more time with friends.

We come here often as it is right up the street from us. The parking lot was empty last night so it was a delight to be able to get right in. I always get their French onion soup, which is one of my favorites around town. We also asked for bread, it used to be they would automatically bring you bread, and then they changed it to you can only get bread service if you ask for it, and then we were told that they are not supposed to bring you bread if you only get soup. That's a real disappointment.

Looking for something different, we headed to the far East side for some Eastern European food. After some interweb digging I found Lazlo's. The place was busy, but we were seated quickly, even though it was a Friday. It took a while to get a server, which was a theme for the night, but it did eventually happen. There was live music upstairs and outside. But no guarantee of non-smoking outside. We chose inside and were seated within 2 feet of another table. A loud, political table. Ugh.Not the restaurant's fault, other than putting tables so close together. I had the Szekely Goulash, while decent, the sauce overwhelmed the other flavors. I understand the idea behind a strong flavor, but this was too much. My wife had stuffed cabbage and unlike my goulash, her's was bland. Her born in Poland grandmother would not have been pleased. We did have some tasty potato cakes for an appetizers. They were decent, not Izzy's, but the what can really compare?Overall, kind of disappointing. We won't be back.

Great food and friendly welcoming service! So hard to choose from many great sounding things. We will definitely be back for more, we had schnitzel and poutine and both were absolutely phenomenal with good sized portions. Definitely worth your time to check out.

Laszlo's is a local fave. My go tos are either the sauerkraut and kielbasa or the skillet meatloaf. The mussels are great and so is dessert. They make all of their desserts from scratch, in house. Their beer and spirit selection is vast. Service is always top notch.

Stopped by on Friday night to celebrate a friend's birthday she wanted to try Laszlo's for some time as she's heard wonderful things about it.They were busy, Stephanie greeted us and sat us a 2-top table gave us menus to review and explained the nights specials. We started with drinks friend with red wine and I enjoyed German beer on draft Weihenstephan hefeweizen and also had an order of the homemade sauerkraut balls which came hot from the ovenThen to the menu, Stephanie was great explaining everything to us and we went with the evening specials (I can't remember the exact names), friend went with the cream sauce with mushrooms, pork and potato pancake plus a side of the hot bacon slaw.I went with the other special with the dark sauce with mushrooms with chicken (instead of pork) with spaetzle and potato pancake. Our meals were both delicious we enjoyed every bite. Stephanie was amazing, checking in on us, making sure everything was too our linking. What a wonderful evening of great homemade food, service and restaurant. We will be back for more wonderful local homemade food!

This was the place of choice for our monthly family dinner night. Plenty of parking, we were seated right away. The place is clean, service was fast. I wouldn't say I fell in love with my meal but I will say that has probably everything to do with me and not with the restaurant. I'm positive this is very authentic, regional cooking; it just wasn't my particular taste. (Although I will say it was EXCELLENT heated up for lunch the next day, lol) The portions are great! The only reason I didn't give it a 5th star is for the price. Just a little too high; especially in this area.

Wow wow wow! All I can say. This place never misses for us. We have been countless times and the food is delicious every time. The workers are always so nice and the restaurant has a nice homey feel. Highly recommend the livers and the szekler goulash!

What a great place for German & Polish foods. Had dinner here tonight. Hubby had sauerbraten with German potato salad. He said it was delicious! The potato salad was different than we've had - really delicious! I had the chicken paprikash with spaetzle - it was delicious. The chicken had been simmered in the sauce perfectly - it just fell off the bone. The service was friendly and efficient. This is a great family place with an old world bar area. Very homey. Highly recommend.

Being second generation Hungarian, I had to try this place and was not disappointed! We started out with palinka flights and their pork crackling (sertés tepertő) WOW! I then had the Szekely Gulyas (Székelykáposzta) it's just like how my Mom and relatives made it. This is worth the trip to come again!
