We usually dine at other Mexican restaurants in Bargersville, but we decided to try La Herradura for a change and were thrilled with our decision. My daughter ordered the Taco de Asadas, while I opted for the Quesadilla Birria tacos. Both dishes were excellent, and the Birria tacos were the best I've ever had. On top of that, we had a wonderful server. Looking forward to exploring more items on the menu next visit.

Water tasted like chlorine, salsa was watery, and the poblano had this weird chili sauce on it that tasted horrible. This isn't the first time I tried this place. The last time was the same but we tried to give it another try.

The food is pretty much run of the mill Mexican. Drink prices are way too high. But it's convenient for Bargersville.

This little Mexican restaurant is a fairly recent addition to Bargersville. I had been meaning to stop by and try the $5.99 lunch offered on the sign outside. The aging building is not upscale and there are a number of potholes outside to maneuver. The chalkboard inside advertises the daily drink and meal specials. On Saturday domestic beer is $2 and imports are $2.50. The service is good. Attentive and friendly. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought to our brightly colored carved table. I had 2 enchiladas with rice and beans as one of the $5.99 lunch specials. The food came out quickly and hot. The food was ok, nothing special, standard traditional Mexican. My husband had the burrito and was pleased. All in all, an ok place for a quick bite.

Driving by you would never expect this place to be the quality that it is. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. I bring all my friends and they love it. BEST SERVICE EVER. (even during rush hours) Not only do they have the best service of any other restaurant i've been to (other than chic fil a) but the food is PHENOMENAL. I come here ATLEAST once a week if possible. Try it. You won't regret it.

My wife and I stopped in this relatively new business for lunch. Some things they do really well, and there are a couple smaller things that I hope they can fix. After parking in the spacious lot (it wraps around to the west too!), we entered the second door to wait at the host/hostess desk to be seated. We were greeted promptly and taken passed the kitchen area through a dining area with a huge colorful mural and ornately carved (and also colorful) booths. We passed the full service bar and were seated at a booth that was in a room where I could see the outside patio. We thought about sitting out there, but since the place wasn't crowded, we thought we might not be able to see our waitress for longer periods of time, so we stayed put.The menu is large, but not ridiculously so. We were quickly able to find the items we selected: My wife likes the Taco Salads whenever she goes to a new place; I decided to go with the Taco Platter which comes with three tacos with my choice of tortilla shell and meats, beans and rice. The Taco Salad arrived looking a bit dark, but wasn't burned. The shell was crisp (which she really likes) and it stayed pretty crisp without turning soggy on the bottom like some places. She also thought the inside ingredients tasted fresh, but a bit under seasoned. I'm not sure if they have a mild taco sauce available, but that would have been an ideal solution.I went with three different meats on my tacos: Asada (steak), Al Pastor (marinated pork), and Pezcado (fish) and had them on flour tortillas which I prefer. The tortillas were prepped on a grill and had a bit of crispness that I really liked! The slight crunch made the dining more enjoyable and kept the shell from turning soggy from the marinated meats inside. Each of the tacos was served as just a marinated meat with cilantro and red onion on the side. No tomato, cheese, lettuce, or sour cream here. And that was okay. They wanted the flavors of the meat to shine. I was also offered a hot sauce, and when I said I didn't want anything too hot, he suggested another (I think it was a tomatillao). It still had plenty of heat for me (too much for my wife's palate.) I started with the fish. This was a white fish with a light marinade, but no breading. It wasn't some Gortons fish thrown into a taco! Instead, this was a delicious and moist piece of filet that was the best fish taco I've had! I did add a bit of onion and cilantro, but not the hot sauce. Yum!I moved to the Al pastor which the first bite allowed me to tell it was served fully seasoned and with some kind of grilled fruit (I think). Unfortunately, it was way too salty. I mentioned it to the host when he came around and he seemed like he was going to talk with the kitchen about it.The third taco was the Asada and again, it was delicious! I added the sauce to it along with the onion and cilantro and it was so good! Just enough heat and lots of grilled steak flavor without being dry and chewy. Very tasty!Oh, and the flavor of the beans and rice was really good too! The rice tasted like it was freshly made, was still moist, not dry and pasty, and had a nice flavor. The beans were mostly creamy in texture with a few whole beans left and topped with a bit of melted cheese.Side Note: The ice water in Bargersville can have a strong chemical taste so I recommend getting something like a soda or alcoholic beverage instead. The host mentioned they were going to have to put in a filtration system to combat the "off taste".Overall, the service was efficient and seemed to take my comments seriously about the water taste and the pork being too salty. I appreciate their listening without being offended.I would gladly return to try another meal here but it would be challenging to not order the tacos again. I hope they get the al pastor fixed because I sensed that with less salt, it could be as delicious as the other two!Review #2634

I visited from San Diego, California, about a week ago and was taken to this new MX restaurant in town. I have to say, this place is a breath of fresh air for Mooresville! I came in to this restaurant reminding myself, I'm in the middle of the country and not at a border town. The Great - The margaritas are good! The Good - The meat was cooked nicely. - under seasoned but cooked perfectly. The Bad - Our server seemed really confused the entire timeThe Ugly - Our server actually disappeared and when we went to pay the bill, the lady @ checkout said, maybe he went on break (REALLY?!). My family lives in town so I expect I will be back. Service could have just been that one guy, so it wouldn't keep me away. This is the best MX place in Mooresville / Martinsville

We were looking for a new Mexican restaurant and we definitely found it. The salsa is so fantastic, we ordered some to go! All of the food ordered was hot and delicious! I ordered sour cream and guacamole to go with the salsa and it was not brought out until after we asked later with the food. Our waiter disappeared and did not return after taking our food order. The service could have been better, as my husband's drink was empty for half of the meal. However, the food was so spectacular, it made up for the lackluster service. We will definitely be going back.
