This is the only place I will use. I drive over an hour to do business with these folks.

recently had a hole butchered at JNL's previously we were happy clients not so much this time . paid for the whole hog picked up some of it weeks ago and was told the smoking of the hams and bacon would take a few weeks six weeks later we finally called back to find out. They don't know where ours is at that. It must've had the wrong name on it and now they've given us a few little hams and a few packs of bacon. when I asked where the rest of the order was, they said that was it that was definitely not it and we won't be taking our hogs there anymore. If that's the kind of work they do.

I would not recommend taking anything here for processing unless you want to donate your meat to their contract with a dog food company. I have received two cowes from them and feel cheated every single time. I got more suspicious after the second cow that was even bigger yielded me less meat than the first time. they do not give you all the meat they are supposed to give you if they are processing it. They are keeping way more of your meat and tossing it in their throwaway bin than they should be. I have process smaller cows at other processors and gotten 25% more meat from it. I will never pick up another cow from this place ever again.

They truly do a beautiful job! they are very clean, and i love the clear, shrink-wrapped packed meat. no more unwrapping to see if that is the piece that i want to use. it is also less bloody than we were getting from our old butcher. and, when i put a piece in the fridge to thaw, i NEVER have a mess like i would before. it's nice to just place it in the fridge without finding a place to put a large container to catch the blood that seeps from regular paper wrapping. this is our first year using J & L , but we will be using them again!
