A super intimate spot to discuss and taste some fairly good bourbon. Off the beaten trail, but worth the trip. A taste of four for $10 or all for $15. My wife and I split the four taste as we were going to do a bourbon tasting at The Last Queen. The funny thing is that the proprietor of TLQ told us all about Indian Creek distillery recommended that we visit. Nice little gift shop as well. There's some room on the grounds to picnic if you bring your own. Five stars in our book.

Great visit to this historic distillery in Ohio. One of the oldest. Now run by 6th generation Staley family. Two nice tasting areas for big or small groups. Reasonable price to sample 4 or 7 whiskies. Plenty of parking. Nice gift shop with all sorts of logo items and home decor. Prices of whiskey products from $50 to $80 per bottle.

What a wonderful experience that I never would have expected in the middle of no where. The tour was short and to the point while the tasting was out of this world. As a straight whiskey and bourbon drink and was impressed by the complexity and variety of flavors. We will definitely be returning to but more.

Out in the middle of nowhere is a quaint little Whiskey Distillery~*Indian Creek Distillery in New Carlisle. We aren't big whiskey drinkers but we had to at least do a tasting. Our favorite one was the Gypsy Gin. Such a cute little place with great service They also have chairs and fire pits set up outside to enjoy

My husband and I went to visit our in-laws in Tipp City for Thanksgiving and they were so excited to take us to this distillery. They've been a few times and really enjoyed their experience, plus my husband is a big whiskey guy. Upon arrival, we were surrounded by a super cozy gift shop. They were selling all kinds of cute stuff, including homemade coffee grounds, maple syrup, spirits, cute home decor, bar gadgets , and more! We were greeted by an employee who gave us an informal tour of the distillery. He showed us their stills, one of which is the oldest still in America and the 2nd oldest in the world! We got to see some of the alcohol being made outside and they told us about the new tavern they're opening up behind it. After, we sampled some whiskey at their downstairs bar. We looked at their upstairs bar, which was super nice! All of the little glasses were labeled., which made it easy to keep track of which we were drinking. We tried about 6-7 spirits as well as their maple syrup. They were all really good! We wanted to go there but they had a tour scheduled for 30 minutes later. The tour never ended up coming so we went upstairs after the tasting. We ordered a cocktail and asked the bartender what she recommended. She ended up making a whiskey cocktail mixed with ginger beer. It was delicious and refreshing! We went back the next day for their Christmas open house and tried their Christmas punch which was good as well. Overall, we had a really nice time and it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the Dayton area!

I had to think hard on if I should give Indian Creek Distillery a 4 or 5 star rating. I enjoyed the beginning of the tour when the fella talked all about the location, the family and how they came about. I enjoyed the ambiance and how there was so much to look at everywhere that was distillery and family oriented. The fact you can rent this place out for parties and family events was seriously cool. Next time I'd go is during warmer weather as we were informed that they hold events for food, music and just plain ole hanging out and drinking during the warmer weather. The original distillery across the street is open and it's apparently like they just got up and left it 'as is'. Numerous generations where they left identifying family marks on their operations. The folks here are super nice, the buildings that are open during the winter are cool. The bathroom is a bit dated. We were told that they are in planning of another barrel storage barn and also a new tavern!? That woulda been cool. They do sell the used 10 and 30 gallon barrels to the public so if you're looking for one. Then why I was contemplating a 4-star... the tastings. Our bar tender Sarah was super nice and knew a ton about the distillery offerings. Provided is a with a few drink recipes as she was a bartender. They were super small samplings. Unfortunately this didn't really bother me much because a few of the offerings were kind of awful. We discussed taste buds and how my all people like it. A sort of love/hate relationship I was told. The 7Stayley's and 1820 were more my pallet but the rest were not. They all shared the same aroma & flavor profile and it was just not for me. I'll go back during the summer and enjoy the atmosphere as I did notice they have a pizza oven built by the gathering area.

This was an extraordinary find! Nicole grew up in the area but had not heard of this place so we decided to come and see for ourselves. Very quaint and original you really feel like you are in a different time. The family did a wonderful job preparing a small batch distillery which has educational tastings upstairs open to the public (age 21 only). The family, currently in its 5th generation, in the US stopped making whisky during the prohibition period and decided to reopen the original copper stills that had been sitting around for nearly a century, in 2012, which apparently are now this Countries oldest operational stills. Quite remarkable the flavor that can be exacted from distilling mash from white and rye. They also make a bourbon but I prefer their whisky which is authentic to what the family's heritage. This coming summer the family plans to open up the venue to back yard bands and pick-nicking couples. What a fantastic idea. I purchased a coupe of bottles for Dad and can't wait to come back this summer. Perhaps even lure a nice Americana band to come play under the starry Ohioan skies.

My rose colored glasses: I grew up in Bethel Township, and have been in this area for more than forty years. This is home. So, we have this little distillery, outside this little town, well past where the suburbs die and the farm lands take over. Drip by drip, they are distilling rye whiskey and the American Experience.Protip: If you choose to take a tour, recognize ahead of time that you will be in close proximity to two big, old, copper stills in operation for a long period of time. What does this mean? It's a lot warmer in the still room that it is outside. There's a reason why the Staley Boys took two months off a year back in the early 19th Century. The tour was pretty interesting. It's fascinating how they've weaved together some of our natural blessings, such as the Great Miami Buried Valley Aquifer, some of our early 19th Century industrial heritage with their 200+ year old copper stills, local crops, and modern entrepreneurship. The water and the industrial process Indian Creek uses creates a whiskey that they describe as a sipping whiskey. I'm in agreement. This especially applies to the rye whiskey that we tried.

EXCELLENT tour!! BEAUTIFUL setting...!! TONS of work went into putting this amazing multi-generational gem back into operation, and it really shows!! The owners take you through the history and process behind this family farm and distillery that goes back to the early 1800's. We just took the informative tour of the facility, and really learned a lot... Thanks once again to a Groupon 2x1 offer that gave us the extra push to go check this place out!! Hidden away in one of the most beautiful corners of Miami County, a must-see for anyone interested in learning more about the history of the area and how a 200+ year old family tradition has been revived and preserved!!Tastings, monthly musical events on the grounds (I'll post info on the event soon...) and more await!! Check it out!!

Simply amazing. That's all I can say!I went here with family while visiting Ohio. We decided to go during the week. The distillery is on a large property. While driving up, you instantly get a sense that this is a well preserved historical location. When we entered, the gentleman behind the counter let us know that we would be going upstairs where Missy would help us and we could just pay after our tasting. When we got upstairs, there was a small room with a small bar. Missy gave us our tasting sheets. Then, she did a guided flight with us and a couple who were also at the bar. We got the history of the farm, family, each drink, and prohibition. We also learned about the cooper stills they use to distill their spirits. You could really feel Missy's love for her family history and distilled spirits. As for the alcohol, everything was very good. Even their white whiskey had a nice flavor that I didn't expect. What shocked me was the fact that the 1820 Bourbon didn't taste young. It was aged 9 months and was still very good. Oh...and the syrup. Wow!I definitely want to come back for a full tour. If you are in Southern Ohio and love distilled spirits, you have to go! You won't regret it!
