I had Hungry Bros at the Cincinnati Rollergirls opener yesterday. They were the only food option so the line was long, but service was fast and friendly which saved this from being a one star review. I've recently gone vegetarian so all options were out for me except the fries, but I was cool with this. I've heard people rave about their poutine, so I thought the fries had to be a great base.A friend told me to "live a little" and get the cheesy fries for $2 extra so I went for it. I was dreaming of the ooey-gooey cheesiness when my order came up. The wave of disappointment immediately hit me. I just spent $7 on what looked like waffle fries from the freezer section and a package of stiff, shredded cheese thrown on top. Really? Ugh, a total bummer. I would have been happier if there had been a little care put into my dinky little item or at least if the cheese had been melted. Half of the time when I tried to eat the fries the cheese was falling off and was noticeably cold. A serious letdown and not worth the money. Hard pass in the future for Hungry Bros.

I caught this food truck outside of the Florence Best Buy and they were featuring Django Tacos. Oh my gosh. Everything was delicious. I ordered the wings with sweet chili sauce. The wings were so good I didn't want to share. I also ordered the jerk chicken quesadilla and there was a delicious sweet/spicy dip that added so much to it. I also ordered two of the fried chicken tacos and two of the carnitas tacos but one of each was with no cheese because the person I was sharing with is dairy free. I have never had a fried chicken taco but mine had pimento cheese on it and it was perfect. The carnitas had such a good Smokey flavor and the toppings were great with it.

I love me some Hungry Bros. One of my favorite local food trucks to spot when I'm out and about, my first time having was at Bunbury a few years back and I always enjoy seeing it around the city! This most recent taste was for the food truck rally voting down by The Banks for this years Taste of Cincinnati. My friend had never experienced their take on waffle fries so I knew it was a must try for her while we were at the event. We decided to go with the Vladimir poutine which is root beer and dried cherry braised lamb gravy, Wisconsin cheese curds and the option to add a fried egg which we went without. While making our way to the front of the line my friend made the impulse decision to get the fried cheesecake which was food porn goals if I do say so myself. The fried cheesecake is topped with a strawberry preserve topping which is a delicious touch.I cannot wait for my next stop to see them and hopefully it's bunbury this year. However I know it will be their first year at the Taste of Cincinnati on Memorial Day weekend. If you haven't experienced these waffle fries make it an effort to this summer! You won't regret it.

Out of the 10+ food trucks lined up on 2nd Street, among the bustling downtown lunch crowd, Hungry Bros' menu is what caught my eye - namely the word "poutine." I always try the poutine at a new restaurant I visit and this time was no different! Their Vladimir Poutine ($9) was DELICIOUS! The seasoned waffle fries were a touch on the salty side but the slight sweetness of the lamb/gravy combination tempered it a bit. (Lamb is braised in root beer and dried cherry!) Also, there was a perfectly cooked fried egg to top this masterpiece. Here are some other thoughts:Price: Main dishes range from $8-9. Side of fries and ice cream floats are $5. Drinks are $2. You can find cheaper food but overall this is the expected prices for a food truck . I'm definitely not complaining! (They give hugs for free!)Service: Really fast service keeps your food hot. The guy taking orders today (didn't hear his name) was super friendly and cheery. Definitely made a positive impression!Food: See above (tldr; Vladimir poutine is delish). Other options on the menu include waffle fries with chicken, ranch and bacon (Kevin Bacon Ranch) and braised lamb sliders! If you come across this food truck, definitely give it a go!

I have been waiting for Hungry Bros food truck to open in full force and yesterday on opening day was their "Grand Opening". So when seeing that they were parked in OTR while we were in Washington Park my boyfriend and I made it a small mission to go and find them.I must say, the mission was a success. Their menu had four items on it that day and the first one and the one we automatically decided on trying was the Breakfast Poutine. When handed to us through the truck window with two forks stuck in it my boyfriend and I geeked out from how amazing it just looked. We went and found our place for the parade and sat and took a bite of our Breakfast Poutine. That bite turned into us inhaling the whole thing. The Breakfast Poutine is the best food I've had in a long time from a food truck. Their menu looks to me very unique for a food truck menu. Other bonuses, the guys running the truck are really nice and cool. They seem to be enjoying what they are doing. Also, they have Dr. Browns soda and Ale 8. Basically the best non-alcoholic drinks ever. I can't wait to catch them again and try some of their other food items. Even if you are over this food truck craze like I am, if you see Hungry Bros parked I suggest you try it.

So glad Hungry Bros came to my office for food truck day! It's clear that their Kevin Bacon Ranch is the most popular (seasoned waffles fries topped with ranch, chicken, and of course, bacon) but I opted for the chicken curry pita (served with a side of waffle fries). This was delicious - the flavors of coconut, cilantro, and scallions blended perfectly together! And the waffles fries are amazing, the seasoning reminds me of Arby's curly fries. Definitely check this truck out when you get a chance!

I was really looking forward to trying the Dirty Fries, (formerly known as the Vladimir Poutine.) Unfortunately the Dirty Fries were not on the menu tonight. Since reviews for those fries are actually what drove our attending the Food Truck festival in Blue Ash, I knew I still wanted to try something. We ended up settling on fries that were topped with Mac and cheese. I do not remember the name of them. They were supposed to be topped with bacon as well, but we ordered them without it. The fries themselves were delicious. They are a seasoned waffle fry. Fries were large in size, and held up to the toppings. I would give the fries by themselves 4 stars easily. Part of what brought our experience down a star was the mac and cheese on top. Plain noodles topped with cheese sauce did not really work as a fry topping. It was not really Mac and cheese. More macaroni topped with cheese sauce. It resulted in some bites having plain noodles with only a bit of cheese. The other part that brought this review down a star was the service. While I do not expect much in the way of customer service from food trucks, the woman taking orders made it seem like ordering was interrupting her conversation with whomever was cooking inside. The whole transaction seemed to be interrupting her conversation. If we were somewhere where Hungry Bros was, I am still curious enough to try the Dirty Fries. Hopefully I will get to try them, and will be able to update this review.

I've been waiting to try the award-winning fried cheesecake from the Hungry Bros for a while now. I had tried to order it a month or two ago at an event in Milford, but it wasn't on the menu that night, so I was very excited to see them at the CFTA event at Summit Park last Friday.Honestly, that excitement didn't last long. The woman who took my order and money was not very friendly. She was have a conversation with someone in the truck pretty much during my entire transaction and she looked pretty irritated I was even bothering her.We got our cheesecake pretty quickly, but the attitude of the woman in the truck felt very much like, "take this and go away." Would it have killed her to wish a good evening? Or told me to enjoy my dessert? Whatever.I liked the cheesecake ok, but it wasn't all it's hyped up to be. Plus I don't think the graham cracker crust fries well at all. I kept getting these bites of just goop that tasted like underbaked pie crust. So either they didn't cook it right, or the crust was the culprit. Either way, not my favorite texture. Based on the friendliness of the staff alone, I don't think I'd be back to this food truck.

Horrible service. Ordered at 8:21. Repeated number to make sure it was correct. Never got a text. Knocked on glass at 9:03. They said they were closed. I said I ordered at 8:21. He shut the glass on me. I knocked again and said, dude I already paid and left a 20% to boot. Him and the cashier had a few words and then he said, just make his sliders! He made them, I walked away. They were intentionally soaked in burger grease! Look, either offer me a refund or make the sliders. Also, the back and forth was extremely unprofessional. Also, what restaurant closes at 9:00 PM on a Thursday, during Bengals prime time!?
