Honeywood

I haven't reviewed this place in over seven years. If they are still busy on a Wednesday for lunch, you know that they must do some things right!I really enjoyed it and the menu has changed some, but not too much. I was disappointed that they don't still have the Shady Lane Salad.

I have enjoyed honeywood for brunch previously so we gave it a try for dinner. Service, despite the restaurant being half full, was very very slow. It took almost 45 minutes to get our entrees after it had taken 20 minutes to get our appetizers. Appetizers were good. The oysters were flavorful and the sweet potato beignets were fantastic. My husband got the short rib which was a tough piece of meat surrounded by what felt like a LOT of butter in the grits. So much so that it was a surrounded rim of butter. I got the fried catfish which while tasted good, was about 60% batter. The shrimp and grits and smash burger were ok. We opted not to do dessert as it had already taken so long for the food. I want to give honeywood another chance but with all the new businesses in Lexington, it may take me a while to swing back around.

Dining at Honeywood was a delight. This is a posh restaurant with a classy ambiance. The food is excellent. We came here a year ago and I got the burger which was excellent. This past fall, I opt for the stuffed cabbage special which was wonderful. Both times my wife had gotten an assortment of vegetarian apps to make up her meal and she really enjoyed them. The service was great both times we ate here. We'll be back when we're in Lexington again!

It has been a few years since we went to Honeywood, but we have always thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Service and food were excellent. Started with the complimentary hummus and chips, then we ordered a soup of the day (potato), ceasar salad, beef short rib with cheesy grits, steak frites, and brussel sprouts with hot honey and bacon. We also tried The Honeywood cocktail. They were all delicious and we left stuffed. We did take an order of bread pudding home for dessert, but it was not my favorite. Prices were more than reasonable. We will definitely be back soon.

Food was amazing and Kelsey is the BEST! Must get the 4:00 Platter. So much delicious food. But leftovers make a great To Go Box

Somehow or any other I never end up with photos of food! We love the southern comfort food at Honeywood; it's a more upscale venue, so perfect for date night, and the food is always amazing! I LOVE the beet salad and the southern snack board is great... though shaved ham is not my idea of country ham.Drinks are always flavorful and service is great - especially Corey!

Not a lot of veggie options but what they have are good. Beetloaf is pretty good and so is Tofu fry. Beignets and salads were good too but they can definitely improve on the service!

This place was recommended to my mom (who is gluten free) and I so we drove over for an early dinner. It was around 5pm and we were seated right away. Our server was attentive and prompt, and checked on us regularly. The food came out in a well timed manner. Everything was delicious! It was getting packed by the time we were finished so I'm glad we were there early. I would definitely return!

Nice place to grab a well prepared cocktail and delicious food. We sat at the bar and ordered the Korean chicken tenders as an appetizer and split the pork chops. All the food was great! Check this place out but you may need to call ahead and get a reservation.

Service was real good. The appetizer was good. But the steak frites lacked In my opinion. The meat was too tough. I ordered steak medium. It was cooked close enough. I never said anything about it. And proceeded to try to cut a portion to eat. I was like did I grab a butter knife instead of steak knife? No I had steak knife. But I was having terrible time cutting it. I knew then I was going to have rough night. I'm guessing it was just a bad piece of meat. I don't know if I will go there again. But my wife had the burger as well as my daughter. They both enjoyed their meals. They offered to get me another one. But family was already done by then. If I had pressed I probably could have done it differently but I didn't feel the need to make a big deal out of it.
