Visited Hitt's Pro Shop recently to shop for a custom drilled ball. When discussing my casual use and wants out of a ball I was given a few options. Now, since I'm such a casual bowler I was tempted to go for the markdown balls but couldn't find a color I wanted from the selection. Found a nice black and gold ball in which my hand and finger positions were measured and marked on the ball. Returned a few days later to pickup the ball and looking forward to breaking it on soon.

This is the best place in Greater Cincinnati to get all of your bowling needs met. Three generations of the Hitt family and they are all amazingly knowledgeable and personable. Josh and his son Austin are almost always there. They have great hours and will get you the perfect ball with professional fitting and drilling. I highly recommend them!

Beware! I purchased a bowling ball at Hitt's from Josh Hitt on July 15, 2023. I am a female and when I bought my ball from Hitt's, I was never asked about speed or my bowling style. I wanted a ball that hooked to improve my handicap. After several months of using the ball, I took lessons from a Bowling Pro since my scores had dropped from 170s to 130s. The Pro watched me bowl and commented that the speed in which I throw the ball is taking the hook out. I would have to throw slower to achieve the hook in this particular ball. The Pro also mentioned that the shiny ball surface made the ball slide. My bowling style would benefit from a sanded surface ball. I went to Hitt's yesterday to see if Josh would discount a ball that is best suited for my style of bowling. I explained the issues with the current ball. He agreed with the previous Pro and stated "most women don't throw that speed". To be able to use the ball Josh Hitt sold me, I have to slow down my speed and change my natural rhythm that then throws off my balance. When I asked for a discount or other compensation to purchase a new ball, he would not commit to any discount but wanted me to "schedule an appointment" to watch me bowl. When I asked why I should schedule an appointment to pay full price (another $200+) for a ball without a discount, when it should have been done right the 1st time in July, he became angry and said there was nothing more to discuss. Josh said he had great reviews to which I replied, "That is why I came here in the 1st place". Unfortunately, it seems that it was more important to sell a ball instead of selling me the right ball. My husband stated he believes that it is because I am a female, that a man would have received better customer service. I would agree. Initially, when I picked up my ball in July, the fingertips used were too big. I brought the ball back and Josh agreed that his son Austin had put the bigger size in since they didn't have the correct color of inserts in stock. Did they not think I would recognize that? I guess Josh also forgot that he was the one who gave me the business card for a bowling pro.

This is the best bowling pro shop in the area without a doubt. I walked in as a beginner trying to get my first ball drilled. Very very friendly and willing to work with any level of bowler. Took extra care to ensure everything was measured/ fitted correctly, threw in a free grips and had it done before my next league game. I passed 4-5 pro shops on my way to this one and won't look back. Would highly recommend - also call and get pricing on ball before ordering online as they offer free drilling on any ball bought from them!

My 11 year old son has been VERY into bowling recently, so we decided to treat him to his own ball. We drove quite a bit to get to Hitt's and it was worth every dollar of gas! We really don't know anything at all about bowling, other than my son loves it, and not only was Josh the owner absolutely the most helpful person ever, but the costumers were amazingly friendly and helpful as well! My older son is also in the market for some bowling supplies and we'll absolute make the trip back to this store!

I have been bowling since I was 3 years old. With a family full of bowlers I practically grew up in a bowling alley and around pro-shops but I have to say this is the best experience I have had. All the credit goes to the owner Josh, who is incredibly nice and really knows his business. I was able to ask him all these nerdy/techincal/dumb bowling questions that have been bugging me without feeling like a weirdo. Josh did a great job on the ball re-drilling that brought me in in the first place and even fixed my span a little since it was wrecking my fingers. I thought that I needed a completely new drilling on the ball but Josh left the thumbhole since it didn't need to be re-drilled and that would make it cheaper for me; talk about taking care of your customers! When I told Josh that we'd be back soon because my boyfriend would need a new ball he even worked out a nice deposit deal on top of his already great prices (there really are some great ball/bag combo, and end of season prices in there). I believe he also does clinics or lessons as well and after judging by his knowledge and enthusiasm about the process and techniques, I'm going to assume those are probably pretty great too.
