All beers served here are brewed right there in the back. Our non-profit org (Centerville Education Foundation) hosted an event here, and it was wonderful. It's a great little venue for about 40 people. They allowed us to bring in our own food, and also allowed us to project content onto their many TV screens. Nick, the owner, as well as the other people who work here are all super friendly. There is a lot of aviation-related knick-knacks and trivia hiding in this place, and Nick will be sure to talk your ear off about them if you ask.The only downside is the location, which is in a dying strip mall in Centerville. But the interior is beautiful.

Heavier Than Air Brewing is a great little brewery in Centerville! All house made brews with an homage to Dayton's local connection to all things Air Force. The service is wonderful, just ask for a sample if you wanna try anything before committing to a full glass. All beers are awesome but for me especially I love the JP-7 which a really great West Coast style IPA. I absolutely recommend the Heavier Than Air brewing Co. and always enjoy my time here.

A couple of issues in ascending level of concern. First, the beer. Just not good. I got the "award winning" McCook's Lager. It tasted like old leather. The best thing I tried was a mead... on tap from another brewery. Now, the second issue. My wife told me after we left that the bartender made her feel really uncomfortable. Apparently, while I was closing my tab he was ogling her in creepy fashion. Do with this what you will, but we won't be going back.

Stopped in after a game of laser tag for my partner's birthday. I had never heard of Heavier Than Air Brewing so I was excited to try a new brewery. They have a limited list and do not serve food so if you are coming in just be prepared for that, but they are located directly next to submarine house if you do get hungry. I ordered the earn your wings black currant ale and it was okay, but I did really enjoy the cookie stout my partner ordered. I would definitely come back and try some more beers another time especially when they have new experimental beers on tap.

Where do I start. We came by this place one night on a whim during the COVID restrictions. We really like the idea of being able to support the local businesses, especially the craft microbreweries. This is not too far from our house so it had the potential of being a regular place for us. And it has... Great beer and super welcoming owners. A few times we just came by to grab a growler or two, other times to get a growler to go with the take-away food we bought elsewhere, and now a couple of times to hang out at the bar (for SpaceX launch attempt and the actual launch to the International Space Station) with appropriate "social distancing". In addition to being very pleasant people to talk to, the owners also very much appreciate the history of aviation, the contributions of Dayton, and the future of space and exploration.Go check this place out. You'll become a regular, too!

Another great stop on our quest to check out all the up and coming breweries in the Dayton-Springfield region!! We arrived late Sunday afternoon, and although the small, storefront location was "taken over" by a monthly (weekly?) trivia contest, we still felt welcome, well taken care of, and even managed to join the tail-end of the competition!! Good service, convenient location, nice set-up, along with some great brews. Bob enjoyed his flight, and we're both hoping to return soon (without having to answer a bunch of TOUGH trivia questions!!!) Give 'em a try!!

Heavier Than Air Brewing is definitely an a-okay brewery. Honestly, we felt super unwelcome and like the bartender didn't want us there while we were there, so we only spent enough time to get a flight and then skedaddle. It has a cute interior design theme and it's a nice space, but I just wish it had felt better to be in it. PROS:-Location is super pretty on the inside. It's definitely a smaller taproom, but on your walk to the restrooms, you'll see the entirety of the brewing equipment too. The facility is open and clean, and the entire place has an airplane/flight theme which is really cute and appropriate for Dayton. I loved the look of the place - especially with all of the natural light. (They also have two or three TVs that had sports playing if you're looking for that.)-Private parking lot outside. If you have a DD, you'll be good for easy access.CONS:-We really, really weren't into the atmosphere here. We walked into an empty brewery, and the bartender seemed really, really annoyed that we were there. I'm not sure if it's just his personality as he never did anything *overly* rude or anything, but our interaction did not leave me feeling particularly welcomed here.-Beers were okay. They definitely tasted exactly as described, but I didn't feel like anything was too creative or unique here. A decently good selection, though, if you just want a decent beer to sip on.

I have driven by this place SO MANY times without even realizing it existed. We stopped by to get a stamp on our Dayton Ale Trail passport (Do it! You know you wanna....)This was so good! It's a little place in a strip mall next to (gasp!) Submarine House. Their beer menu is short but it was surprisingly diverse (and heavy on the IPAs, which I lurve). We got two flight, which encompassed their entire beer menu. Ya'll. I liked almost everything. There were some stouts and a crazy malty double IPA that I'm repressing, but there were some things I liked I didn't think I would. I loved that they gave you oyster crackers to help clear your palette between tastes. Service was quick and friendly and though it's small there were lots of TVs, if you need entertainment or like the sports ball with your beer. I was pleasantly surprised and have a feeling we might be back...a lot.

What a great little brewery. Beers were good and the bartender was fantastic. Didn't catch his name but he's an engineer and he was SO SWEET. Made the experience so much better!! Would definitely come back hoping he is there to greet us!
