Gyro Palace

We ordered through DoorDash. The majority of the food was good, and would be even better if we dined in. We ordered gyros, chicken shawarma, moussaka, fries, dolmades, falafel, hummus, fried mushrooms, and the three meat platter. The good: gyros, three meat combo, chicken shawarma, and falafel.The almost good: Greek fries, they would have been really good if we dined in, but we didn't, and the dressing made them very soggy. The flavor was great though. I suggest having the vinegar based dressing on the side for take out orders. The ok: tzatziki sauce (bland), hummus (bland), fried mushrooms (greasy), dolmades.The bad: moussaka, it had noodles, and no eggplant. It was pastitio not moussaka. It was dry and pretty unappealing. I am not a picky eater, I couldn't finish it. I would try it again if someone else wanted to go, but otherwise, I probably won't be back.

I'm Greek so I'm pretty snobby about my Greek and Mediterranean food but my boyfriend and I came here for lunch for the first time and it was really good. For fast Greek food, I was happy with it. I ordered the chicken kabob sandwich on pita and he had a chicken and beef gyro on pita, which they cooked fresh in front of us. My pita was warm and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. They also put cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, lettuce and Tzatziki sauce on top. I also got grape leaves and we shared some delish seasoned fries to go on the side. We also got an Oreo mousse-cake for desert and it was good!It is a good location right near campus and surrounded by other good food places. It is also right near the bars, and open until 3 am!!!! Perfect for some late night munchies. I would definitely come here again and was impressed by the options.

It is always great food. Every time that I go into Dayton I always get Gyro Palace and the only thing I can say is I need to get a Dayton more often

I would have given Gyro Palace 5 stars a few months ago, but my last two meals have been incredibly disappointing.  The first strike: I ordered Pastitsio, which usually comes with béchamel sauce.  I've ordered it before, but there was no béchamel sauce this time.  Instead, there was an overabundance of tomato sauce.  The second strike: today I ordered Moussaka, described on their menu as "Sliced eggplant baked in a ground beef sauce and then smothered in a thin béchamel sauce."  Sadly there was NO eggplant! Once small consolation is that the fries were pretty good.Dare I try them again? I'm not sure.

The gyro was really great. Meat was cut thinner than I'm used to, great sauce, tomato and onion. Greek salad had Romain lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, olives and a great Greek salad dressing. The spinach pastries were really flavorful with onion and garlic flavors but kind of small. They delivered it quickly. *no silverware or napkins, I'm in a hotel and travel with a fork but if you don't it could be a problem!

This was a terrible experience!I ordered the moussaka, French fries, and a medium coke.The moussaka was microwaved, old tasting, and flavorless.I took 2 bites and promptly left the restaurant totally disappointed.The French fries were laden with some type of "Old Bay" type seasoning and I could not eat them as well.Please save your $16.50 and go to a good restaurant.

I met a friend here for lunch on a Friday in mid/late January. Not quite sure where their official parking is....but I found something and didn't get a ticket or towed thank goodness. Two people working and a lunch rush meant things movies quite slow. A third person eventually came to work the register, but she rang things up incorrectly at least twice during our wait. But I enjoyed my gyro and Greek fries. The portion of meat I got was pretty huge! The sauce/seasoning for the Greek fries was just a little heavy on the lemon for my tastes, but still enjoyable with everything else. Greek isn't really my thing. But I'd be fine with returning here if I have another friend express that's their preference. I do wonder if their baklava or baklava cheesecake is any good....

Exceptional place near UD. Have been recommended by a friend. This place did not disappoint. I got the 2 meat combo Gyro(5/5)- if you can tolerate spicy (get the spicy sauce on top). The meat was super tender and the portions are decent. The fries are amazing. Crunchy, fluffy and a hint of spice. The falafel was also good. Made to order (They should add a tiny bit of spice to it). Overall a great place. I would definitely go again.

We were expecting a sit down dining experience vs. cafeteria food. To be fair we left without trying the food.
