Twenty years ago, my colleagues working at the hospital with me in Avondale introduced me to Ambar India. I've been enamored since then, but as an NKY resident, the gaslight district isn't practical to access most days. The same family opened Guru India many years ago, and we've been blessed regularly with access to their delicious meals.I've not found a more buttery, savory, flavorful Chicken Tikka Masala in any US restaurant. I also find the Lamb Korma to be delectable. My wife's favorite is the chicken Jal-freze. Nan and Paneer Bhatura are both excellent, and we enjoy their KeemA Samosa appetizer when feeling particularly hungry.Dinner portions are enough for a meal and a next day meal or snack. Nearly every guest we've introduced to Guru has also become a regular.Excellent food!

We tried Guru India for a work party. There were 7 of us. When we walked in they didn't seem too excited that we were there even though we called ahead. This was my first time trying Indian food so I can't compare this place to any others. I really fell in love with the Naan. Small, quaint restaurant. Prices were decent.

I was in the mood for Indian food so I tried Guru again and it was delicious. I ordered the Aloo Mater peas and potatoes in a curry sauce. A side of naan bread completed the meal. My friend got the lunch special chicken curry and chicken tikka with naan rice salad and a samosa. The atmosphere is a little dull. Needs some vibrant colors. If you have a craving stop by

This was my first time eating here my boyfriend had eaten here in the past he said they used to have a buffet that was really good before covid I do like my a little spicy Indian food my boyfriend purchased a platter and shrimp and lamb Curry I had purchased a nan cheese bread with a medium chicken curry and we both shared a white rice it was really good the bread wasn't as cheesy as I thought it was going to be but the platter that we had gotten with the potatoes and the cheese Cube was really good my boyfriend doesn't like spice at all really I tried his food it wasn't that bad I wasn't a big fan of the sauce but the meat that came with it was really tender my chicken curry was also really good for it being medium it had just a little bit of a kick which was enough for me the owner was very nice he checked on us many times I believe his name was bobu he introduced himself and shook our hands very professional nice clean establishment you're in the area they're worth checking out.

I feel like I will love this place until I die. The food is just always so darn good. We have started a routine of pretty much getting some of the same things every time but we do try to mix it up every now and then. We usually always get the samosas and the dinners we get usually come with this other side dish of delicious fried things filled with potatoes and cheese and overall just yummy goodness. Wish I could tell you what they were. We tend to always get the Chef Thal plates. They're close to $25 but they are so good and typically always have enough left overs to take home. You get a lot with those plates so check out my pictures if you want to know more about what I'm talking about. It also comes with a little dessert as well. We have been coming here for years and continue to always come at least a few times a year! It's one of our favorites. Service is usually always friendly and it's a family-run place you can tell. You have kids working with grandparents and they are always making sure that we are taking care of. The ambiance has changed over the years but it's still good. They had a much larger location and looks like they put up a wall and divided it in half and are now in a smaller location. It's still big enough for all customers who want a table for the most part. They were able to downsize and probably able to better service their customers by doing so. Looking forward to many years to come!

Delicious! Great service (Babu was wonderful) and incredibly flavorful, tasty dishes. Naan, curries, and mango lassi all 5/5. We're from out of state but we can't wait to come back!

Very good Indian restaurant, i believe they have downsized went here a few years ago when it was larger.Started with Veg Samosa, was some of the best i've had. On the contrary the Daal soup was a bit watery for my liking. The Naan (which is a MUST at an Indian restaurant) was on point! they were huge and we got regular & garlic. Both were flaky and exactly what we were looking for. The chicken Tikka Masala was phenomenal got spice level 5 and it was not spicy at all (wish it had a little more kick). It was delicious nonetheless. Will for sure return again.

I can't recommend this place. The food is overpriced and very mediocre. I've had Indian food in a several other cities and states and they all blow this place out of the water. I had the Chicken Tandoori and Mixed Vegetables. My dishes came out quick, too quick. My dishes were warm but not hot, the chicken was dry, and the vegetables lacked the rich complex flavor I've had at other places. The curry was very bland. It was as if they had a bunch of these dishes already prepared and sitting back in the kitchen, drying out. The portions were not big either, especially for the price. My bill came out to $42 for what was essentially one mediocre meal with very little leftovers. The service was also impersonable. I don't get why there are so many 4 and 5 stars. You guys really don't know what good Indian food is.
