My mom was in town and we needed a simple dinner, so we ordered some takeout from Guanacos. We got 4 pupusas (pork and cheese, zucchini and cheese, and loroco flower and cheese) and sour cream. Sadly the loroco flower pupusa lacked the flavor it usually has and the coleslaw seemed to have no vinegar in it this visit-- the slaw wasn't its usual yellow color. However, even on a day where the usual quality wasn't there, the food was still so yummy and hit the spot. I love pairing the mild sauce with the sour cream and coleslaw and topping bites of my pupusa with it to give it crunch and tomato-y, creaminess. So so good. And at $4.25 a pupusa (which is filing enough for a small meal), it's a great deal!

Delicious! My recent lunch here was delicious! We each ordered the Pastelitos de carne and 2 Pupusas each. My husband had two bean pupusas and I had the bean and the cheese. I liked the bean better than the cheese pupusa but both were good. I thought the pastelitos were awesome! Such great flavor! We also ordered an Empanada to share. It's filled with plantains and topped with sugar. It was sweet and yummy! We both enjoyed our lunch! The cabbage slaw that's served with the pupusas is quite good too. I'll definitely stop in again and try out more of the menu.

Guanacos has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Cincinnati. If you are looking for authentic, flavorful food this is the spot. The staff is super friendly and helpful if you have questions about the food. The pork and cheese pupusa topped with the hot sauce (red bottle) is my favorite option. The mild sauce (yellow bottle) is also super flavorful, but the hot sauce adds a kick without being too much. We've brought a number of friends to this restaurant to try out something different, and everyone agrees that the food is great. Located just North of 275, it is out of the way somewhat from the "typical" food stops in Cincinnati, but it's worth the drive if you don't regularly make it up to Forest Park.

Wow!! This place is AMAZING! A authentic El Salvador family owned business. The customer service, food, decor, and atmosphere is so sweet, authentic, and awesome. From the moment we walked in they were treating us so nice and were so helpful. They just opened in March 2022. The food may sound like Mexican but it is different and so delicious! It's like apples to oranges, you just can't compare it. Both are great! We went there for my birthday lunch. They did not disappoint! We ordered: several Traditional Pupusas: Queso Con Loroco (cheese & Loroco Flower) $3.50, Ayotte Con Queso (Zucchini & Cheese) $4.00, Frijol Con Queso (Beans & Cheese) $3.00; Tamal de Pollo $3.00; Papas Locas (Fries, ketchup, mayo, & cheese) $4.99; Pastelotos de Carne (Corn pie filling with beef and potatoes) $3.00; Hortcha de Morro $3.50. Everything is freshly made to order served hot! With a smile! They also gave us to try for free: an Empanada (Plantain pie filling with milk); Nuegados Con Meil Cassava fried medallions served with traditional syrup); Cebada (refreshing drink from El Salvador made from natural strawberry essence and a blend of spices); and another Tamal de Pollo. Everything was so delicious! They went over the top! Yes, I recommend this place. It is one of my new favorites! We will be back! Oh, they do have a kids menu and some American food options for those not feeling so adventurous.

Wow! I've never had pupusas before and really enjoyed them! Also, apparently, there is peanuts in Salvadorian horchata and that makes it so rich and delicious. We had a late lunch around 2pm, so it wasn't crowded, but the service was swift and the food was amazing. I can't wait to come back for more.

The pupusas were a good size. Just super greasy and not very seasoned. I would get two with a meat or something. Mine were fresh, but they seem to take a while to prepare. Restaurant is ok not really a place I would go to sit down for a while. The salsa was way too hot for me unfortunately.

The atmosphere is as you would expect from a converted Panera. The food was excellent. We ordered just about everything on the menu and it was all good. Flavors are definitely different than Mexican cuisine, but not so much that you would be put off by it. The staff was very attentive and friendly and I will be going back there with my family.

Our waitress took the time to explain everything on the menu, down to the flavor profiles so we knew what to expect. We ordered a variety of food: pupusas, tamales, sopa de res, etc and a horchata and a passion fruit drink. Every bit of it was AMAZING. We would order it all again and try more things the next time!
