**** RECEIVED a message from business via FaceBook messenger. Not to happy with review. It was "OK" that's what 3* means( I call it like I see it and my 10 yo concurred)My 10 year old picked Goodbelly for lunch last Friday. He didn't want fast food. I knew they were a food truck and moved into brick and mortar. Place was kind of slow. Staff was attentive and after menu review, my son order the Grilled cheese sandwich, their hiuse made potato chips and an order or potato "Latkes"(3) with apple butter. I was hesitant to order as their Meat sandwich's had 6 oz of meet and was $12 more for another 6oz. My son's grilled cheese was made with Muenster cheese and he seemed to enjoy it. The house made chips were really salty. The potato latkies were crispy and also really salty but the apple butter help sweeten them. He gave me a bite of each and I concur with his assessment. The grilled cheese wasn't advertised as "kids/child" but that how it rang up. He had glass ice water.

Went in on a Saturday for a lunch date. Got there right before they had a rush - lucky Me!! I asked the nice person at the register what he recommended and he gave me a few options. I went with the signature Pastrami Ruben sandwich and it was AMAZING!! The also have fun pastries for dessert and different drink options. There's a ton of fun wall art to look at while waiting for your delicious sandwich. I'm already ready to go back!! The meat was well seasoned and hot, the sauce, cheese, and sauerkraut (stupid way to spell this food btw lol!) were prefect. It is a messy sandwich so have your napkin ready. The chips were hot and crunchy. Everything was great! Bathrooms are out the door and down the steps to the left.

Friendly service, clean and fun environment, and an excellent menu. The Reuben I had was great. I have to say that I am spoiled: my mother makes the best matzo ball soup on the planet. So their's didn't quite stack up, although the actual matzo ball was fluffy. But all in all Good Belly fills a void in Louisville, a large enough city to have multiple options for deli/Yiddish soul food.

The food is delicious! Turkey melt with cabbage is amazing. Their chips are so good too. We had the sparkling lemonade last time which was also refreshing. The staff is super nice too. One of our favorite lunch spots!

I recently visited Good Belly, a NY Deli-inspired sandwich shop known for their in-house corned beef and pastrami. Their commitment to made-from-scratch food shines through in every bite. Today's special was smoked brisket on toasted sourdough with house-made pimento cheese, and it was phenomenal. The thin-sliced brisket paired perfectly with the creamy, tangy pimento cheese.I couldn't resist taking home a dessert after eyeing their display case. The oatmeal cream pie was a standout--soft, chewy cookies with a delightful cream filling. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. I can't wait to return! Don't forget to check out their daily specials on Instagram.

This place is hiding in the Highlands right next to derby city pizza the old Dundee spot. They have a great cheeseburger. It's first come first serve, people were friendly. Burger was great. They just need to greet people better and have some sense of humor when customers enter the store. Nice place, great burger, but need to be more welcoming to all people. It's a very small restaurant, so it wasn't too loud or crowded.

It's Sunday morning and we're headed toward the Highlands and need to find a place for lunch. We don't visit the Highlands much so we're not very familiar with the local eateries in the area, aside from what I see pop up on Yelp. As we were going down the list I saw Good Belly and *bam* search was over. We hadn't been there before but all I could see was great reviews so it was a pretty easy decision. "Hey Google, navigate me to Good Belly Sandwich Shop". Google: "Sure! Handing off to Waze"I actually drove by it and had to drive around the block. There's this...mess of odd street angles of one way streets where Good Belly is located that would have probably been easier to navigate if I were more familiar with the area. No matter, when we arrived we were able to park right up front.Since we hadn't been there we had questions. There was a gentleman at the counter who gave us a well-honed tutorial about the menu. Good Belly's menu isn't extensive, but it's well-suited for their target audience and for the size of their operations. We were also told that just about everything on the menu is made on site, with the exception of some condiments and the breads. One of the sides was coleslaw and I'm a sucker for hand made coleslaw so I added some at the last minute.I had the Pastrami sandwich and my wife had the corned beef. The Pastrami sandwich was well-portioned and I didn't expect the combination of the horseradish sauce and the pickled red onion to compliment the sandwich so well, but it was FANTASTIC. The house-made potato chips were delicious and the pickles (also house-made) were probably the best pickles I've ever had. The coleslaw was *almost* as good as the slaw my mother used to make, so that's like getting a 98% on a test. It was e.x.c.e.l.l.e.n.t.Seriously. I would drive across 3 counties to get this sandwich.Everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly and you could tell that they loved what they did. In particular, Patrick checked on us several times and took the time to engage in some conversation and hooked us up with iced tea refills. Good Belly is delightfully decorated, but not *too* decorated. There's what appears to be a vintage cast iron fireplace and some retro-y, whimsical movie posters about.I 100% completely, utterly love Good Belly. From the staff to the menu to the fact that just about everything you eat was prepared on site, Good Belly is the quintessential of the Local Deli. They obviously take pride in what they do and they believe in the product they're selling. Name another deli that cures their own meets!...go ahead...I'll wait. We've got friends coming to visit in a few months and we just added Good Belly as a "must visit" while they're here.

I love it when you get a hunch and it just works out perfectly. Such was the case yesterday when I visited Good Belly after a day of enjoying Kentucky Kingdom. It felt like the kind of place where I could, if I lived in the area, become a regular, especially since I was made to feel at home by the "sandwich guru." (My nickname, not that of the shop)Nothing was rushed, and after some background information on some of the individual sandwiches, I went with the #3 Pastrami & Corned Beefon rye with mustard, and got the clarification that it was a spicy mustard, which is always my preference for such a sandwich. This tower of meat arrived warm and was exceptional from the first bite. The sandwich is searved with a pickle spear and some delightful homemade chips, which provided a nice crunchy contrast. Oh, and that mustard. Chock full of seeds and a wonderful bite. And can we just say that rye bread is underrated? Much love to that bread. This shop has a lived-in feel, and guests are provided with an opportunity to print out a selfie on the camera provided to leave their mark on the walls. All and all, the service, food and atmosphere are layered like a hand crafted sandwich, with the bread being the unique Belknap neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. I would most certainly make a return visit.

Quick service deli! Order at the counter then sit down and your food comes out quickly. The best deli you can find in Louisville. Super bright and clean place ! I need everyone to come here and support them for forever so it doesn't get closed down. I got the Pastrami w/ horsey, pickled onion, arugula and a side of mustard. A perfect sandwich! They care a lot about the quality of food they are serving.
