Glenwood Inn

Love Wednesday nights! Fried chicken dinners and cold beer. The atmosphere is always good and service is good. EXCELLENT crisp fried chicken.

The Glenwood Inn is fairly close to my house and we had never tried it so we thought we would give it a go for lunch. We got there at 20 after 11:00 on a Saturday and started to sit down at the bar and the bartender asked if we would be wanting food and we said yes. She said well we don't have a cook they have not showed up nor have they called. They were supposed to be there at 11:00. She said she did not know anything about the kitchen and could not prepare food. So we ended up leaving and headed to Rushville to have lunch.

This place is awesome! The food is good and the beer is cold. The Glenwood Inn is under new ownership and they are doing a great job. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It is a good old-school neighborhood bar.

Jalapeño cheese poppers were still frozen. Not sure if she popped them in a microwave or what. The highly acclaimed tater tots were ok. Service not good. At all. Waitress/bartender gave me a 'look' upon coming to our table. Just me and my husband. No smile that she gave towards me. It's pretty much bar food in a bar. Since we weren't the town locals we got ignored most of the visit. We may try to come back for the fried chicken down the line. Just hoping we can get better service next time.

Finally made it in to try the fried chicken and was not disappointed. May have been the best fried chicken I've had!!! Two thumbs up!!!

If fried chicken were pizza the chicken here would be the equivalent of an amazing slice of NY pizza! When the grease/juice drips down your arm, you know it's gonna taste like heaven. The seasoning is just perfect and the sides taste like Sunday goodness. Stop in any day of the week and try the daily specials. Wednesday and Saturday are my pick for the fried chicken special. The atmosphere is quaint and friendly. Watch a game on tv or shoot a game of pool while you're here. They also have free wifi. A series must when you're in the Glenwood area.

I have been visiting Glenwood Inn frequently over the past year. Each day of the work week a specialty meal is provided in the cozy town-bar of Glenwood, IN. It is a local favorite and I have found that the food is very delicious and I have looked forward to stopping in for carry-out on my favorite nights to visit each week. Glenwood Inn is definitely a treasure and should be part of your itinerary when passing through this quaint and friendly town!

Fried chicken is the best!!! Also the mushroom and swiss burger and chicken livers and gizzards are to die for!!!
