We stayed at the Gaslight for a surprise weekend getaway and it was everything we needed! Before talking about the accommodations, Maria is certainly the highlight of the Gaslight B&B. She was flexible with all of our needs, including a late check-in, an early checkout, and various dietary needs. She packed us a small breakfast for the road, which included homemade pastries, and a sweet note.We stayed in the Margaret Rose room, which was a well-decorated room with plenty of space. Notably the bathroom is across the hall from the bedroom, and could be shared with the Rebecca room but there was not an occupant in that room when we stayed. It is along the main path where other guests may use to get to and leave their own rooms. We did not mind this as we enjoyed the other guests, and they were not loud or constantly coming and going. The common areas are also very cozy, with a living room close by our room on the second floor and by the dining area on the third floor. Additionally, I believe all of the rooms are on the second floor and above, so this may be an issue if you have difficulty navigating stairs. It is in a great and safe location. We never had issue with street parking. It is a short distance from the Clifton neighborhood and the medical campus. Again, we are thrilled to have stayed here and would definitely come back the next time we visit Cincinnati!

Where to begin. The accommodations, the hostess, the location, the food? Sure, parking is on the street, but when everyone that walks by walking their dog, or heading to the local shopping and restaurant district,( maybe a ten minute walk), says hello, how are you? Do NOT worry about parking! The accommodations, I would describe it as eclectic and fantastic! Comfortable and cozy. You cannot ask for more or better. Where else can you go with fridges with drinks, snacks and common areas with tv and movies, fast wifi, weight room with sauna? Price for what you get is fantastic! Then there is Maria the owner and host. I have never felt more welcome in a friends home, let alone hers! Her breakfast is wonderful! You won't go away hungry or disappointed in anyway. This lady is the real deal, charming and witty, B&B stories galore. My wife and I did not get to meet Scott, her Husband. Not being a bid city fan, we're looking for reasons to go back to stay here.

We were looking to stay somewhere with a unique atmosphere, and the Gaslight B&B hits the target. Maria is an engaging, talkative host who is as present as you desire. Upon arrival, she gave us a quick tour and left us to our own devices. We stayed in the Rebecca room on the front of the house, with its high bed and big fireplace. It was very comfortable and quiet, with plenty of room to spread out and an armoire to store clothes in. We "shared" a bathroom with another room, however, the bathroom is off a central landing, and Maria is in and out cleaning after it's been used, so we never encountered the other guest. We also had a reduced rate because we shared the bathroom!Breakfast was a great spread in a comfortable third floor kitchen; I only wish I'd had more of an appetitie in the morning. There's a fridge on the second floor with refreshments that came in handy when we returned late one night, and when we departed for the road. We had a great time staying and are looking forward to trying out the other rooms. We like funky, older and restored houses, and the unique and quirky individuals who love and take care of them, so this was the place for us!Note: parking is on the street, and there's plenty of it in the neighborhood.

My husband and I had the best time here. Beautiful house and very comfortable! The owners were fun to talk to and present but gave us our space. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone. :)

Seriously??? First to review? OK then. When I think "Cincinnati", I think: historic, hillly, (some parts) charming, warm, friendly and inviting. The Gaslight was ALL of those things. Our host Maria was accommodating (we got in very late), attentive (whipped up a fantastic apple Dutch baby with sausage and fruit for breakfast) and very comfortable (heavenly king bed on the top floor of a passionate and quirkly(?) decorated palatial historic residence). We had a lovely short visit, it was a fair bargain and we'll definitely be returning!

Just finished our second stay at the Gaslight. Scott and Maria are great hosts, and Maria is a fantastic cook! We live only 15 minutes away, and enjoy going to the Gaslight just for an escape. The house is beautiful, and the furnishings are first rate. You won't be disappointed!

I have been trying for 4 or 5 days to make contact via phone and email but cannot get a response to make a reservation. I'm left to assume that the date and room requested is already booked and it's too much trouble to actually respond to let me know. So much for a night away on a very special birthday.

Our stay was fantastic. The host was very accommodating - even making a gluten free breakfast for us!The room was clean, adorable, and comfortable. We had our own bathroom on our floor which was very clean and cute.I love the windows and decor in this old house. They clearly put a lot of time and love into this place to make it the B&B it is today.I will be staying here again the next time I'm in Cincy!

What a wonderful alternative to staying in a hotel. Our room was comfortable and Maria, the owner, was so very hospitable. And her breakfast was so delicious including healthy options. We will definitely return the next time we're in the area.

I would love to give this B & B more stars, but with the Clifton House B & B just minutes away it is hard to.Owner cornered me at the doorway of my room and gave me the third degree about where my friends and I were having dinner. Asked why we chose the restaurant we chose. Asked why we didn't choose Olives. I told him my thoughts on Olives (not a fan). After, he informed me he owns Olives. It was just uncomfortable with him seeking out information right in the doorway of my room, for at least 5 - 10 minutes while I unpacked a bag. Then they asked us to not walk around in the top floor living room after 10 pm because their bedroom was right below us. And breakfast was meh.All in all, go to Clifton House. Much more refined service and a much more welcoming atmosphere.
