Galactic Fried Chicken

I'll be real with you--this was some solid chicken, but "best ever"? Nah, not quite. It's definitely riding the hype train, just not all the way to the station. The chicken and fries were fresh, tasty, and paired nicely with the sauces, so no complaints there. The atmosphere, though? It felt like I stepped into a time capsule from the early 2000s. The glowing reviews had me curious, and while the food didn't blow my mind, it did quiet my inner skeptic.The service was great--super helpful--and shoutout to the kitchen setup. It was unlike anything I've seen in a restaurant before, which I thought was pretty cool. Nestled in a tiny building in downtown Covington, it's holding its own. Definitely worth a try, but keep your expectations on low heat.

Don't be fooled by its outdated exterior and odd theme--Galactic Fried Chicken is hands down one of the BEST restaurants out there if you're looking for a fried chicken spot that has both vegetarian AND gluten free options! Their jackfruit bites are out of this world (pun intended), especially with a hefty side of ranch, and their loaded fries are delicious as well. The entire place is great for those with celiac.I don't recommend their deviled eggs, however.Fantastic spot, super nice owner!

Went early / 11:15am prob when they opened. Tried to order a 1/2 chic however they said it would be 25 mins. Just didn't have the time. Ordered the chic tendors which came out pretty quick. Really nice size tendors! My only issue was the fact that i tasted a lot of celery salt in the breading, too much in my opinion.

At first I thought $12 for 3 chicken tenders was a bit pricey, however, they are huge-and tasty. Add $4 for a drink and fries you have more than enough food. In fact we had leftovers. And to boot the chicken is gluten free. I was told that people come from as far away as Indianapolis and Columbus, Ohio for their chicken. Wow. Although it looks like a hole in the wall it's not to be missed. By the way, there's a free public parking lot a couple of doors down.

I tried Galactic today for lunch with a group of friends and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely amazing. I got the wrap with fries and it was sooo good, made to perfection. The special sauce is to die for! Everyone loved their food and couldn't stop talking about it. Some of the group tried the deviled eggs which I heard were pretty good tasty! Giving 4 stars due to the ventilation in the building. The food is cooked in the main dining area and creates a strong stench. The chicken smell was in my hair and clothes by the time we left which is tough when you have to go back to work. Definitely keep that in mind if you plan to dine in and have plans afterwards!

Gluten-free fried chicken and fries are not easy to find in the Cincinnati area, but in Dayton Kentucky, it is bustling business! For vegetarians, dairy free diets or those with celiac disease restaurants like these are a godsend. The price is very reasonable, and portions are decent. Two adult women were able to split a 3-piece tender tray and a side of fries for lunch. I can't say the seasonings worked well for my palate, but my friend thought it tasted good, and the chicken inside was juicy. The fries were definitely overdone once toppings were added, I suggest ordering naked fries. The slaw was made with crispy cabbage that held onto the dressing well. The street nearly runs out before Galactic appears. It looks like a home with a restaurant stuck on the bottom floor-- because it is. Pop inside and sit down, then go to the counter to order when you are ready!

The chicken tenders were nothing special to be honest, but they also had a very unique taste so not terrible. Definitely not the best. yeah I would come here again just for the appetizers. The service is really good and the food did not take long at all so a pretty decent experience. The atmosphere was a very cool experience but very dark inside and smells weird. But I got over that smell for the delicious food.

Best fried chicken in the Cincy area! It's crispy & juicy, all the things you want in a good fried chicken dish! You'd never believe it but most of their menu is gluten free too! While I'm not gluten free myself, I love that I can bring friends with different diet needs and we can all enjoy together. Vegetarian? They've got you covered there too with awesome jackfruit bites.

I'm allergic to gluten and I LOVE this place. The fried pickles are delicious and I would eat them every day if I could! lol. My only recommendation would be to get the food to-go. The staff inside is wonderful and accommodating, however the place is kinda outdated and feels a little unclean. The one time we ate inside we agreed that we preferred it to-go.
