Ordered from the "Freakin' Rican" Puerto Rican food truck parked locally.Called ahead to ask questions about the menu and the owner (Adrian) was very helpful and accommodating. I asked about spice because my wife has a very acute/sensitive palate. His food is seasoned/flavorful, but not spicy.Ordered Pernil (seasoned pulled pork) meal, which included Spanish rice and beans. Wife ordered beef empanada and fried mushrooms. Taste and quality of food was VERY good. Quantity and value was good also. Service was EXCELLENT! After I placed my order Adrian (owner) asked if I was the one who called about spice, to which I confirmed. He brought me out a sample of both the ground beef and shredded chicken prior to preparing my wife's empanada. I confirmed it was definitely flavorful but not spicy, so continued with the order as submitted. After he brought my food to my car, he also gave me a gift card (photo attached) for a 'free meal' to bless someone in need. My Pernil was delicious and my wife's very discerning palate declared the food VERY good as well. SUMMARY: Hard working and generous local restaurant owner making good food and helping the community. RECOMMENDED!

This food truck visited the Wilmington Thousand Trails RV Resort on a Friday evening where we are staying for 2 weeks. And we absolutely loved it! We got the beef empanada plate with rice and beans and the ....'fancy' French fries. Ha I can't remember what they were called but they are bomb!!! Fries with chicken over them with shredded melted cheese, mothered in ranch, and banana peppers! Yum! The food was seasoned well and nice and hot! We waited maybe 10 minutes for our food and paid $35 for a huge portion of the fries, the 'plate' and 2 sodas. A little pricey in my mind but once we tasted the food it was worth it! Would eat here again if they visit the rv park again!

I am originally a Puerto Rican from New Jersey and decided to moved to Dayton, Ohio. I was so happy that I found someone who cooks Puerto Rican food in Dayton, OH. The first time I purchase food from Freakin' Rican was in December 2023. They probably was having a bad day but the 3 orders I purchased had no taste (no homemade sofrito taste). The taste was bland and the alcapurrias had fingerprints on it. I couldn't finish it and had to throw it out. I decided to give them another try. I purchased chicken empanada and rellenos de papas, again they probably was having a bad day because the empanada was so dry and the rellenos de papas was given to me burnt and very salty. I am disappointed with this food vendor. To me this is NOT Puerto Rican food or the chef is not Puerto Rican.
