tables and chairs in a restaurant

I came here because I bought a Groupon coupon last year. It took me a year to use it and I really wanted to check out the Saturday night seafood buffet before my certificate expired. With one week left on the certificate, I was disappointed that I couldn't fit the Saturday buffet in my scheduled and ended up there on a Sunday night. Luckily I didn't go out of my way to make it on a Saturday night because there is no longer a Saturday night seafood buffet. The restaurant is at the marina, which seemed appealing, but there is no view at all, which was disappointing. The food was good, I got the Sunday special - 12 oz prime rib for $15 and was happy. I wouldn't mind trying the Saturday night surf and turf sometime. I was a bit surprised that on a Sunday evening at 7:00pm we were the only customers. I don't think anyone was even at the bar. The service was very good. Overall, it wasn't as nice of a restaurant as I though it would be, but I left full and happy.

We walked in at 11:00am sat down & waited... There was 4 waiters standing behind the bar. Finally after sitting there 10 minutes my husband walked up and was told they do not open till 11:30. Ok fine... At least come over and tell us. We had been there for brunch before so assumed it would be the same... But when they finally brought the menus over everything was $15 or over... Crazy for lunch in a tiki bar!Never again...

Came here for the seafood buffet (available every Saturday evening in the summer) and walked away full, but unimpressed. The food: lots of fried options (shrimp, scallops, calamari, etc.) plus a few fresh things (peel & eat shrimp, oysters, snow crab legs), one 'catch of the day' fish, a couple of red meat choices, and a few veg/potato options. The fried food was very heavily breaded and progressively lost luster as it sat out--scallops were the best of the available options. The peel & eat shrimp and crab legs were some of the best choices there. The 'catch' was salmon, cooked to a level of inedibility that was actually an insult to the fish. I personally didn't bother with the non-seafood items, so no comments there.I wasn't brave (or stupid?) enough to try raw oysters from a buffet (in Ohio), but my husband knocked a few down and was not a fan. They also bring out a few things to eat buffet diner individually to start--a small cup of clam chowder (one of the best things we had there), a 'stuffed lobster tail' (just mushy breading, no actual lobster meat detected), and a roll. Other details: the restaurant is located at the Four Seasons Marina so it's nice to see the boats when you're walking in, but the dining room doesn't take advantage of the view at all (feels quite subterranean in there). Service was friendly, but lagged a bit at times. One odd quirk of this buffet is that fresh plates are brought to your table vs. being available at the buffet. The buffet is $35 per person, all you care to eat, but you can get discounts from the local Reach magazine or www.restaurant.com. I didn't have very high expectations walking in, but the experience didn't even quite live up to those unfortunately. I have had seafood buffets done very well so I know it's possible (even in landlocked areas!), but it just wasn't the case here.

I absolutely love this place for one reason only: LOCATION.The restaurant sits off the marina and you can watch people load up into their boats and wonder what kind of job they must have to be able to afford a boat. The restaurant feels very Jimmy Buffet which is ideal when you are craving a getaway but are still stuck in Cincinnati. In fact, the last time I was here there was a Jimmy Buffet band performing during dinner. It was wonderful- summer music, perfect night to eat outside and by the water, with a beer in one hand and a burger in another. I will say that the food is a little expensive and the cost of the booze is insanely outrageous. I cannot agree with buying beer in a can for $4.18. That is absurd, so I caution you to go to happy hour somewhere else and then come here. As for the food- it is a little expensive but I will say that the burgers are really good. I ordered a burrito the first time I came here and was a little iffy but I am glad that I came back to give it a second chance. I did like the service here as well. The wait staff is very diverse and I thought it was interesting to see a 14 yr. old boy and a woman in her 60s working side by side. But they did it and all my food came out on time and was delicious. I would recommend anyone coming here and grabbing dinner. Come on a day that is not that hot because it is all outside.

The place is small and quaint, which is a nice change to the upstairs restaurant. The place seemed a little under-staffed when we were there but the waitress seemed to make sure we didn't notice. we tried the sampler appetizer for $10 to share between 3 of us and were appalled at the baby plate of fried tidbits we got! It was a good appetizer, but we expected it to be much more for that price. We were very worried about the portion size of the entrees we were expecting. But when our meals came, we were happy to see they were generously proportioned and very good. In all, we left thinking the place was ok and that we were happy to have tried it, but that we probably wouldn't be back anytime soon. And where is the river view their advertsing speaks of??? Only a view of the cove and marina!

I will give this place 1 star because I would actually come back for a beer. My boyfriend and I had dinner here this evening and it was less than satisfactory. First of all, when you order a $15 crab cake, you shouldn't expect it to be mostly fried batter. However, that was the least of it. I got the grouper taco, or shall I say, shredded cheese taco with under seasoned fries grouper. My boyfriend ordered some kind of fish burger, which wasn't as terrible, but still, under seasoned and not so tasty. My dish was $14 and his was $15 and on the bill they charged 2 extra dollars for the shitty sandwich. I truly wanted to say something, but the bf just wanted to pay and get out of there. I've been to the pelican reef restaurant in Anderson and thought that their food was great! They should just take over the restaurant and make a killing. Plus, the meals were served with plastic wear? Why don't they just call it what it is and charge $5.99 per meal, except I think long john silvers would have been more appetizing. Woof. Waste of some great dining space.

My husband surprised me for my Birthday by taking me to the Four Seasons. What a waste of money! We opted for the buffet since it had different types of fish and shrimp. We should have know that it wasnt going to be good since there was only a family of 3 there on a Friday night. The food obviously had been sitting out for a while. Everything was cold and tough and it looked like the tarter sauce had been sitting out for a few hours because it was yellow. With the buffet you get a bowl of clam chowder and I'm guessing it was a stuffed lobster tail. The soup was fine but the lobster was disgusting. The price of the horendous meal...$34.99 a person! It wasnt listed on the menu and thats our fault for not asking but we had heard such good things about this place that when we got our bill we were sick!. We will never go here again and I'm guessing by the size of the crowd it wont be in business much longer!
