I loved this hotel! It is fairly no frills, but it is beautiful. It's a converted 1800's cotton mill and you can still see a lot of the original infrastructure. They had a little pamphlet in the lobby saying that the building sat empty from 1980-2020 when it was converted into a hotel. There are huge 9-foot windows everywhere. Saying that our rooms had tall ceilings is an understatement. I also loved the artwork that had so much local flair. I was ready to move in. The staff were all friendly and the hotel was fairly quiet overall. They have a large conference space downstairs. They were hosting some sort of event so parking was pretty tight when we came back from dinner, but otherwise the parking lot and hotel were easy to get to. Plus, it had an awesome view of the Ohio River. The breakfast was a little basic, but I think we just had such high expectations because everything else was so amazing. But it was complimentary so can't really complain.

The rooms were super clean, and comfortable. The history of the place is awesome. The front desk guy had tons of knowledge and was willing to share when they weren't busy. I will be coming back when the weather is warmer to explore the town a bit.

What a nice property! Located in the site of a former 1884 cotton mill, this hotel preserved much of the history with original support beams and ceiling beams and images from the past. We enjoyed amazing views of the river and the nearby bridge. Breakfast lacked a few necessities (bagels but no cream cheese, for example) but it did the job. Staff was great (they always greeted us when we walked in), and there is a nice bar near the lobby. Overall a great place to stay when visiting Madison!

The historic mill has turned into a Fairfield. The tall windows and ceilings make it an excellent hotel to get some cool boudoir photography done. The rooms are spacious and clean. They kept the original wooden ceilings.

This is just a review of opening day at this hotel. I am not staying but visiting. The views of the river and proximity to downtown Madison are fantastic. This hotel is a game changer for downtown Madison. The use of an older building with a nod towards the history of the building is tremendous. Building is from 1880s. Old beams and huge windows. 9 suites that are at least double normal room size. A conference meeting area for several hundred people. Looking forward to staying here and putting family here for future stays in Madison. Highly recommend.

We recently visited Madison, Indiana over the weekend to attend a wedding and the Fairfield was part of the package we chose. I will say I'm so glad we chose it. The Fairfield is right on the Ohio River and just a short walk to the main street, which has a lot of charm. The hotel itself is very clean and very modern. There's a bar that's open from 6pm-11 or 12 and a gym room that has a great view of the Ohio River. What's interesting besides the tall ceiling room we got was the TV allows you to use streaming!!! Yes, Hulu, Netflix, HBO max etc (BTW just couldn't get YouTube to work) but that's huge for travelers to be able to watch their own streaming shows on the hotel TV. And to be honest, I usually use my phone or tablet most of the time, so nice touch Fairfield. The TV even has your name on the screen when you first enter the room. All in all, great staff, great amenities and a decent breakfast (they had almond milk). It's pretty affordable and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Give it a try.

This hotel is brand new, it is a refurbished Cotton Mill of 1884. They did a really good job keeping the integrity of the original Mill. The ceilings in the room are high, giving the room a nice feel. We paid extra and got the riverview; 8 foot tall windows and a nice chair with ottoman to view the Ohio and the barges. There is a large window sill you can sit on as well. We enjoyed walking Madison, Indiana historic area. Ate at the Off Broadway Taproom, and the Red Pepper. Good pub food, reasonable prices. It was a great two days. There is a breakfast, typical of hotels. From 6-9 pm there is a full service bar, typical prices. As we were leaving I saw a plague showing the hotel was owned by an LLC Cotton Mill and operated by Dora Hospitality Group. I worked for Dora and our children were assisted in College by the Dora Foundation. It was fun to see they are doing well in the Hospitality area.

Wow is all I can say. The 5-star reviews on the hotel website are true. We were impressed by this brand-spankin' new hotel on the site of a thoughtfully refurbished cotton mill. We appreciated that so many elements of the original building remained. Lots of photos and history throughout the lobby and conference center. No mention of it on the website but the hotel has a decent lobby bar. Great for out of towners but even locals would enjoy. We booked direct through Marriott and were impressed with the ability to check in on our way into town and use our phone as a key, completely bypassing the front desk. Of course, the front desk staff was very friendly in our interactions. We enjoyed the free breakfast which was served buffet style. Very kid friendly with a walking path and park next door (bring your own cornhole bags!) We'll be back!

Beautiful hotel right by the river. You can easily walk right out of the building and take a walk by the water. Rooms were clean and spacious with high ceilings and large windows that let in sunlight during the daytime. Dining area was also spacious which allowed you the opportunity to spread out and have some quiet in the morning.

Pretty hotel. No sound proofing. Also no quiet hours policy. Very loud party on Halloween night. Not a quiet place to sleep.
