Emporium Wines & the Underdog Cafe

I wish we had gotten food here, but just stopped in for coffee and tea. Their to go beverages were well priced and so good. We also got coffee beans and it was nice that they sold them in smaller packages so you could mix and max the different roasts and try multiple of them. They were freshly weighed and the names were handwritten so you knew that they were fresh and local, rather than sitting on the shelf. Their wine selection looked extensive, but we did not get anything. It was super cosy on the inside.

Yellow Springs, OH - visited charming Yellow Springs on a chilly Black Friday with the family. Needed a hot drink to warm up and this cozy cafe fit the bill perfectly. Cookies and other baked goods drew us in from outside. We sampled a carrot cookie, chai cookie and chai lattes. While we waited for the drinks we perused the local beer selection which included some THC options for those who don't have workplace drug testing. Chai lattes were served up by a friendly and efficient staff member. We sat in the cozy cafe area surrounded by gorgeous quilted artwork that was for sale. The lattes were hot and perfectly spiced. The chai cookie was our favorite of the options we sampled. Bill came to just under $20.00. Great price and really good quality. Would definitely return when next in the area.

Love, love this place. Quaint, unique, and inviting. It takes the meaning of "local" to another level. Yes, they sell beer and wine here, and that's a great reason to come. Even better is the second half, the Underdog Cafe. They have the best coffees and teas. The Chai Latta is one of my favorites. Absolutely, come for breakfast. Open til noon. The breakfast burrito is the most popular item. But the filling salted rosemary breakfast biscuit is the bomb! Your choice of protein. If you want more or less, they also have awesome muffins and cookies. You can't beat the price here, especially for the quality. Wooden tables and chairs. The walls are lined with books covering many interests. Order at the counter, get a number and food will be brought to you. Also, when done bus your table. The service here is fast and friendly.

This is such a cute, casual little place. Really disappointed in the quality of the coffee but I enjoyed my rosemary salt biscuit sandwich. Great alternative to waiting in line for breakfast a couple doors down in this popular city.

Best breakfast burrito available on planet earth. I love it here. Fast service, good coffee, nice atmosphere, clean, tidy and cozy. Great wine selection for takeout as well. I love this local business.

We've stopped here on both of our visits to Yellow Springs. Absolutely love their breakfast selections and love that they have vegan options. We've had muffins, pasteries and vegan biscuits and gravy, all of them were delicious! We also enjoyed our coffee drinks from their as well. It does take a little time to prepare food but we love looking through their wine selection during that time as there are lots of unique options.

I loVe this place. It's a little "old school", kind of quirky and has an earthy cafe vibe. Just tried a to die for Coconut, lime, blueberry muffin. I was a little hesitant to try it, but I'm glad I did! And, had a blueberry scone the other day that was divine..

I can't gush enough about how much I love this place. There is a wide assortment of tea and coffee for a ridiculous amount. When I'm visiting YS, I take every opportunity to stop by, grab a chai, and eat a yummy veggie scramble. I am obsessed with these decadent bars that travel so well, my carry on bag is always filled up a few of these on the way home. But the fresh baked options available daily usually include some gluten free options, too. Only recently I learned the books in the side of the eating area are available for purchase for $5. Take a moment to browse through the beer and wine selection, because there are some good finds, and GREAT prices.What I love most about Emporium is the sense of community each time I'm in there. There are poetry readings, musical performances, groups playing games, chess lessons; and I'm always greeted with smiles from the staff and customers alike!

Fluffy loves to hop down to the Empo on Sunday mornings for coffee and vegan carrot cake.
