The "extras" plate has lot, but the beans have a tough crust on top.

Hard shell tacos. The shells were so stale they were chewy and the ground beef was burnt to a tooth-chipping crisp.

Think I've ever b4. I'm not a local so it took me a while to pull up which Elsa we went to. Had been before a couple times and really hard to hear in the front dining room. The multiple TVs and just noise level. I know that's kind of a downer, but sometimes I really wanna hear the focus. I'm with. This visit I found the chicken fiesta or chicken Taco Bell absolutely delicious. Super fresh and tender, grilled chicken chunks and nice variety of ingredients. The chili cheese dip or queso dip excellent but it really big bowl so best with three or more eaters. Service excellent.

Microwaved Mexican food . It seemed more like a sports restaurant with a wide array of options on their menu. But the "Mexican" was clearly microwaved because there were bubbles in the beans. Won't be returning.

My family and I were so excited to try Elsa's for the first time after moving into town. Our expectations for it were pretty high walking in. Unfortunately, they were not met.The first impression was good; a cozy but still large restaurant with enough tables to go around for the many people wanting chips and margaritas on a Monday evening. Our waitress took a minute to bring out our chips and salsa, and took even longer before asking us for our drinks. I just ordered water, unlike my sisters, who ordered lemonade and a Shirley Temple, and my parents, who ordered margaritas, one regular and one a Bad Juan. After about 5 minutes, our drinks were brought out. According to my family, they were nothing special. My dad, who ordered the Bad Juan, said it was unexpected. He said it tasted like tequila, and nothing else. Sadly, this is not the worst part of our trip to Elsa's. Our experience only got worse from there. After about 5 more minutes, our waitress finally asked us for our order. I was concerned that she wasn't getting our order correct because she didn't write any of it down. I decided she probably knew what she was doing, so I let it go and ordered a cheese quesadilla with both Mexican and Cilantro rice on the side. I was very excited to try both. Unfortunately, it took around 15-20 minutes until our food was brought out. This was disappointing, but not as disappointing as the mistakes made with our food. For starters, they brought out my 8 year old sister's food on a super hot plate. A separate waitress did a good job switching her dish to a cooler one, which I thought was a smart move. The second mistake was that my quesadilla had chicken in it. It was a great quesadilla nonetheless, but I was disappointed that it was not the way I had ordered it. The final mistake was that they brought my dad's dish out with flour tortillas. They did correct it, but if that was my celiac little sister's, they would have had to remake it. I was not impressed.Even though they got the orders wrong, I was still eager to try the quesadilla to see if it could save Elsa's. It reminded me of a Tropical Smoothie Cafe quesadilla, just greasier. It tasted just fine, but nothing revolutionary. I wasn't a fan of either rice, too. They both were super hot and had a weird aroma, and this is coming from a girl who is not picky what so ever. I couldn't bring myself to finish either rice.We left unsatisfied and disappointed. My older sister also got a stomach ache from the enchiladas she had.Overall, Elsa's is overhyped with poor food and a long wait. We were disappointed in the wait time and quality of food. I would spare yourself the trouble before going to Elsa's.

Every time that I come to Dayton, Elsa's is a must! The Bad Juan margarita is like none other. You will feel a little buzzed after one...definitely after two! The food is always great. On this most recent visit, I ordered the pretzels as a starter and the steak fajita bowl as my entree. Needless to say, I forgot how large their portions are! The food was delicious, but I ended up packing a lot of it to go. If you are by yourself, you may want to order the half option if it's available.

Not a good experience:1. The dining area and restrooms were dirty.2. The food was less than mediocre and so so bland. And, the burrito I got was swimming in water.3. The service was non-existent. Took forever to put in our order and then our waitress disappeared. Don't go.

Awful!! Dirty, dark and food is terrible. The chips and salsa are "serve yourself" and the table the chips and salsa are on is covered in filth. I saw patrons reaching in to grab chips with bare hands. We should have just stood up and left, but unfortunately we didn't. I told my husband right before our food was delivered that I hoped we didn't get food poisoning. To top it off, the service was awful! It took forever to get drinks refilled, and our food came cold. We will never, ever go back. We tell everyone we know to avoid this place!

We had a party of five and all of us really enjoyed the food and service! Plenty of vegetarian options for those of us who are veggie, and we really enjoyed the strong margaritas! I got the tostada and it was super good and way more food than I could finish.

It was okay. Nothing special about the food or the atmosphere. Our server was a sweet young lady. The food was not picture worthy. It seriously just look like someone slapped it on a plate. Probably will not be back.

I used to live in the Dayton area and am back for the first time in 8years. I loved going to Elsa's, and I'm glad to say it's still as good as I remember. We went on a Friday night-not too rowdy, but definitely a great amount of customers and "buzz" in each room. Our server, Rhonda, was excellent-friendly and patient with our indecisiveness. The food was great and the Bad Juan's are even better! Thank you for a great dinner!
