El Valle Verde is a terrific find in a scuzzy area. It has very authentic tasting food and margaritas. The restaurant is attached to a grocery store. It doesn't look pretty but give it a chance. The price is pretty cheap but it doesn't have cheap taste. If you come across this place you probably would have the urge to drive past it. It's not a pretty area and there's usually sketchy people outside. The food is good enough that it should be given a try. It's attached to a Latin grocery. There's interesting things to look through after you eat, like lots of fresh produce. In the restaurant part of the building is a counter where you order. The waitstaff isn't great with English so you have to speak clear to them. It's kind of a small dining area. There's a bathroom that doesn't lock. It sucks but all this makes it seem more authentic. The menu has lots of pictures you can point to. I had the chips and guacamole. It's about $3 for a side of guacamole with lots of chips. The guacamole has great spice. It also has a good margarita selection on the menu. These are about $5 for a regular. It had a salty flavor even though the rim was wiped off. This is supposedly the authentic taste. If you like real Mexican you can't get more authentic. It's in a scary area but it's pretty safe earlier. The street has some parking areas along it.

Great vibe. Fresh wall paintings and the locals joint. You definitely know good Mexican when it is easier to order in Spanish. The attached grocery store is spot on. Whether you are going for lunch or after work margaritas, this place won't disappoint. They have excellent presentation of the food, and the flavor hits Home. It's not fancy dining by any means, but it feels like home to me.

Absolutely fantastic food! There is a bit of a language barrier but it's honestly not too bad. The food was amazing, and you could tell it had been freshly made. I got the tacos and they were fresh and light. Will def go back!!

This restaurant has a lot of kinks to work out. The service was overburdened even with just a few customers (can't fault the one waitress who also served as bartender). The tacos were under-seasoned and mediocre. The chorizo in one taco was burnt, the steak in another was cooked fine but had little to no flavor. The al pastor taco was the best of the bunch but that's not saying much. The interior of the restaurant still looks like a German place (I never visited the prior occupant restaurant), complete with a couple German beers on tap and German-beer-branded glassware. They do have a couple of nice flatscreens places strategically. It was clear that things weren't fully up and running yet, and the prices were extremely reasonable, but compared to other amazing Mexican restaurants around town with great food, decor, service, and prices, I can't recommend El Valle Verde at this time.

I eat her for lunch during work pretty often with my coworkers. The restaurant is attached to the grocery. It's definitely authentic Mexican food (lots of people speaking Spanish around you in here, which is a good sign!). The people that work here are always friendly, and the food comes out very quickly too. The lunch specials are all less than $10. I normally get the green enchiladas, which are very yummy. Their burritos are also good, and if you're feeling adventurous (and don't mind bad breath) you can get the menudo which I'm told is delicious. The price-point is good, and it's authentic, but inside the restaurant is not exactly the cleanest or prettiest. I come here for a quick lunch, but I would steer clear if you're looking for a nicer experience.Overall, very authentic, tasty Mexican food in a small local business. It's kind of a dive, but still good for a quick bite.

This place is only a mile from me and I'm ashamed it took me so long to check it out. If I spoke Spanish I would rate it a 5 but ordering was somewhat hindered by the lack of English on the waitresses end. I got almost everything I wanted and what I got was fantastic. The chips were fresh and verde sauce is probably house-made. I had a platter containing a pork chop, refried beans, rice and a salad of sorts. It was even garnished with a large grilled jalapeño. I also ordered a steak burrito that was so large half of it was my lunch the next day. They also serve mexican beer and that made the dining expierence complete.

Wow, I hadn't been there since they were a little hole in the wall, now there's a full grocery store, a bakery, and the best butcher shop. Unbelievable how much they have grown.Went to the restaurant also and food was excellent with great service.Had the chicken soup with a whole drumstick & thigh in the broth.Hubby had tacos al pastor which he said were great, friends had tacos with carnitas, and super nachos, super nachos covered half the table.Very nice, will definitely be back. We brought tons of pastries, try the cheese tarts.

A rollercoaster of expectationsWe read the reviews and everything sounded amazing. Our curiosity piqued after a couple glowing Nextdoor reviews. So we went. Expectations were pretty high. After the drive down Vine Street, the expectations were tempered a bit. There are some terrifying meth creatures out and about in that neck of the woods. The menu looked like every awful Americanized Mexican restaurant menu out there. The chips were ok. Maybe a little stale. The salsa was literally tomato soup. Not kidding. Tomato soup. Expectations were rock bottom. We ordered one Huarache and 3 shrimp ceviche tostadas. When they arrived they looked amazing. Exactly like the picture on the menu. Both meals were delicious. The staff was extremely nice. And the artwork on the walls was indeed good.It was an experience and the food was good/delicious.
