We had so hoped that this newest addition to authentic Mexican food in our area was going to be good, but, alas, it was not. Although they have an interesting menu that includes pupusas (El Salvador) and huaraches, the food itself was less than nothing special. Fairly or not, I judge a Mexican restaurant by the refried beans and rice. In this case, the beans were grey and bland, and the rice was unexceptional. In fact, both arrived at our table cold, really cold, like refrigerator cold. It is important to note, that the prices are incredibly high. A single quesadilla without rice and beans was $14.00. Same for a huaracha. I also must agree with the other reviewers. We have been to taquerias all over Cincinnati and this was certainly the most uninviting for gringos. I do speak Spanish, but that made little difference. The service was terrible, the other clients were clearly miffed at our presence and, as others note, it took much longer than it should have to bring the food out, and then, it was cold. This might be a decent take-out place, where you bring the food home and warm it up, but, otherwise, it is not the joyous, welcoming experience of, say, Taqueria Mercado, or El Gran Valle Verde in Hamilton. But, that's ok, for the majority of the Spanish speaking people at Valle Verde III, it was clear that they were happy to be there among their friends and there should be places where their comfort is more important than mine.

Great find!!! They are also open on weekends. Cashier was attentive. Not sure about the other reviews.

I loved knowing this is right around the corner from me so would be convenient. I always get the ceviche. Unfortunately I do not know Spanish well so much too often I'm ignored and can't try the menu. I get it just disappointing.

I was so delighted when I discovered that el Milagro tortillas were being sold in this grocery store. As a recent Texas transplant, I had been missing good Mexican food and had high hopes that the cafe would be my new go to. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The service was not very friendly and I had a very long wait for the food. I would recommend ordering online unless you speak Spanish as the cook/ order taker spoke little English and did not take my order correctly. The kitchen is open and the cook did not wear a mask while working and many of the customers did not wear masks either. I had ordered a torta with beef Milanesa. When I got it home, half of the sandwich had chicken milanesa and the other half was carne asada. The beef was tough as nails and the tacos al pastor were not what I am used to. Weird bright orange color. I'll continue to visit the grocery store but will keep looking for good authentic Mexican food.

Delicious authentic street tacos. I had the carne asada tacos and got both the red and green salsas to top them with. Delicious!! And only $2.. made with a smile and quickly as I waited! New spot for me.. I'll be back! Also the grocery store is great, I bought some gelatin desserts and some salsa. Good prices :-)

The food is awesome, but as other reviewers have stated, the service is not great, particularly if you're a non Spanish speaking person. However, I didn't get the same vibe as others that if you're not Hispanic they ignore you, there's just simply a language barrier leading to limited communication. As for the food, it's amazing. Definitely the best tacos I've had in Cincinnati by a long shot! Yes the wait was a bit long, but worth the wait.

They've since taken over the Chinese restaurant that was next store and turned it into a taqueria. The tacos have gotten better and the options are more abundant. Overall, a good improvement.

I went in this location yesterday to purchase chicharron I end up getting a few more items and actually spent like $52 . I asked the cashier did they have guac if I can purchase a he said yes very polite and pointed at the restaurant I went there and asked if I can purchase a side of guac the guy was translating to the women @ the register she looked at me very nasty with a distasteful look and told him no if I'm not purchasing any food when I just spent over $50 in the grocery not sure what that was about I will not be back and I will be telling all my family and friends about my experience she even continued to speak in her language with a attitude I'm disgusted I am a black women I had my children with me she shouldn't be even greeting any customers her attitude was very distasteful I thought the grocery and the restaurant was together they are connected so if I spent money there isn't it beneficial to the restaurant as well she wanted me to purchase a whole meal bc a side a guac alone I couldn't the other customer he was a Mexican he looked at me and shook his head like companies like this shouldn't even be kept up in business I did have my scrubs on maybe she was intimidated I'm not sure but I will never spend a dime of my hard working money here again only reason I didn't refund my items was bc my babies really wanted their things I had already purchased

As others have mentioned in other reviews here the customer service is the worst. Prepare to be ignored while you are at the register waiting to pay.I saw someone else's review mentioning how he was left waiting 30min while the staff was attending other customers that had ordered food after him. His assumption was that because he was white he was ignored. It has nothing to do with race. Trust me. This is the way customer service is in Mexico. I am latino and the guy at the register stopped in the middle of ringing me up because he got a phone call about someone wanting to place an order for some tacos so he left me a the register and went to the kitchen to ask what kind of tacos they had on the menu that day. While he was gone the line at the register just kept growing and the guy came back, not before stopping to talk to a couple of other people that worked there on the way to the register. There was nothing prompt about his attitude. The people in line behind me were hispanic as well and they didn't seem to mind the wait. This is just the way things are done in hispanic countries. It's annoying they bring that cultural behavior here.Regarding their food. As a hispanic I can tell you that their food is definitely not authentic. It's very greasy, there is nothing authentic about it, maybe the ingredients but the preparation and taste is not authentic.Someone else here mentioned a bad experience because of the language barrier. That is not the reason either. I speak spanish and couldn't get a straight answer when I asked once about how often during the week does the baker bake fresh bread. They just didn't have a clue.To anyone coming to this store keep in mind that they are own and operated by low level educated people from what I have seen. Don't expect decent customer service from this place because the people working here simply don't know what customer service is to begin with. They do sell authentic Mexican items though but most of them you can find at Jungle Jims if you are willing to make the trip. I think it's a trade off between convenience and customer service experience because the only other mexican store that I can think of is in Springdale which is a bigger store but very similar to this one in terms of customer service and then Jungle Jim's which is definitely a much better customer experience but it's far out there. At this point I'm not sure if the review should be 5 starts because if you are looking for a place that offers an authentic Mexican experience in terms of customer service then THIS is the place to go. You are guaranteed to experience authentic frustration as if you were at a store in Mexico.Unfortunately, since they seem to be the only store in the area that offers a variety of mexican products I don't think they care much about the reviews here on Yelp when they don't have a lot of competition.

I've only been there once but the torta carnitas is absolutely the best sandwich I've ever had. They will be a regular stop for me. It's also kinda of fun to browse the market while waiting for the food.
