El Toro Express

Not bad...El Toro Express is pretty much another version of Chipotle or Hothead...The food was good (not great), reasonably priced, friendly and prompt service, and the restaurant is clean. I probably prefer Hothead over El Toro Express, but if you're looking for quick respectable "To Go" Mexican, the stop would be worth it.

Tried the new El Toro Express recently. It's okay. I ordered delivery, and there doesn't seem to be a way to order just rice and no beans. It comes as a burrito or bowl "with rice and beans." Not sure if it's the same when ordering in the restaurant.They could definitely take some pointers from Chipotle on how to wrap a burrito, because this thing just fell completely apart and turned into a fork and knife situation. The burrito is large, but messy. The overall ingredients weren't correct either. Not sure if they just really skimped on everything besides the rice and beans, or if they just completely made it wrong. I honestly couldn't tell. Definitely lacking flavor. The nacho chips are nothing special. The queso is pretty bland. Some jalapenos would help spice it up, but as is it's just okay. Sorry the pictures aren't great. It matches the experience I guess. ‍

Amazing alternative to chipotle or hot head. Better than both and less expensive to boot.You decide on your "base" like a quesadilla or nachos or a bowl, or in my case, the fajita combo, then decide on your protein and your toppings. I had the grilled chicken fajita combo with Mexican rice and beans. The person I was eating with had the chicken bowl and added El Toro's delicious queso for a small upcharge. They do offer both regular and frozen margaritas. We tried the frozen strawberry and it did not disappoint.

I only ordered 3 Tacos Al Pastor and they hit the spot. Service was great. Owner was extremely friendly. Ambience is super casual and welcoming. I'll definitely be back to try out more on the food menu and perhaps some margaritas. They also serve beer.

Holy! I am going to have to sit back and really think about what I just experienced. This place was so good I don't know if I believe what my senses are telling me right now. It's strait up in the worst part of town also, like everything around this place is a tragedy and then there's a El Toro Express that is ran by God just sitting there. The food here is just Mexican quick prepare that tastes unreal. I suggest a high recommendation on the pork whether it's in taco form or burrito/bowl form. Usually, I don't go the pork route, but I tried it all and they clearly know something everyone else doesn't know about it. Everything sitting out is so fresh. The rice is top tier Mexican. Special shout out to the way they have their taco system set up. They give you rice and beans on the side and then you pick all the other stuff you put on your tacos and yeah that's a good taco perfect, yet simple. Also, that has no business being that good of a deal. I had two full meals for like $23. Just don't even go to other places it's not worth it, this place will change the standard. The employees were super nice and amazing. English was not awesome. If these people were illegal immigrants then I'm cool with them taking the country over. Every part of this place was very clean and nice. I was going to just hit up the drive thru here because it's an express, but I'm glad I went in. They really did a great job with the interior of the restaurant. I loved the art work that was put up in there and the vibe. Great decorating and spacing. Something wild is that they had outlets at every table? I wasn't planning on making a yelp review today, but this place was too good to not.

Great authentic food with very reasonable prices. And by the way, Taco Tuesday's are the best hands down!!

Amazing food! Amazing experience! The men were very nice to us. The food was fresh and way cheaper than chipotle or hot head. Will definitely go again. Had for leftovers for dinner - still good and fresh.

The lady that took my order was making and running the register with the same gloves on and then got offended when I asked her if she could change her gloves....

Delicious food I really really like the food and I love the service even more. It's a drive-through, which makes it even more convenient.

Awesome food with the quality & quantity for your $! We have been there 2 weeks in a row now & recommend it highly!
