Desi Bites - Cincinnati

Amazing and authentic South indian food here.The irani chai was well balanced and tasted exactly like we get in Hyderabad. The mysore bonda were perfectly spongy and tasty.

Their chai is the best in Cincinnati! They're always super busy but for good reason :)

My family and I were craving Indian cuisine, so I decided to give Desi Bites a try. I was so glad I did!Desi Bites is about 45 to 50 minutes from where I live. When I arrived to the area, I was surprised to see a busy Indian grocery. The parking lot alone was full, which is a very good sign. I ordered the Shrimp Biryani Family Pack from their website, and received updates while they were preparing my food. I had received a text saying my food was ready, and just in time.I was beginning to get some stares from some of the patrons as I waited in my vehicle. Desi Bites is located near the entrance of the grocery store of similar name: Desi Plaza. There were many people in the store and also the restaurant; it almost seemed overwhelming. I will say this, the restaurant and outside were clean, and that make me feel better. I waited in line for at least 15 minutes, (due to an elderly gentleman), but was taken care of immediately afterward. The friendly young woman told me my order was finishing up and made sure to check it was accurate. I arrived home and the food was still hot, even after a 50 minute drive!Everything, (from the shrimp and rice to the sauces), had wonderful flavor.My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal! I highly recommend anyone try Desi Bites in the Desi Plaza. The food is absolutely EXCELLENT!

Eh! Being an Indian, I do like trying out Indian restaurants to revisit home. This wasn't it. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great.Since a friend and I were craving chaatt (it's a kind of snack that's savoury and sweet and tangy), so we ordered bhel puri and papdi chat. Bhel puri is a snack that's made with puffed rice and mixed with spices and onions. Papdi chaat has a crunchy puri that's fused with onions and spices and yogurt. Both were okay. My bhel puri had "puri" missing and papdi chaat got really soggy by the time it was delivered (yep, UberEATS order). All in all, okay. I've not tried the curries and Biryanis to review yet.

A decent place next to an Indian grocery store. Then have most of the regular items and there is a chat stall outside. The food was decent nothing out of the ordinary. My fried chicken Biryani was a tad bit burned. The chai was very good. The place is ok clean and the service was minimal to non existent.

A+ food. some of the best since i arrived in cincinnati. somoza chat was very good and not spicy at all. the paneer tika dosa was like a huge savory crepe. delicious. looking forward to trying again

I love this tiny spot attached to the Indian grocery store. One order of their delicious chicken biryani is at least 4 servings for us. I want to try their samosas and dosa. The chicken 65 is a little to spicy and seasoned for me. We love the paneer makhani and chicken makhani or butter chicken.

I've ordered Mutton Haleem - it was one of the best I have tasted so far . Well spiced and yum.

Their food is amazing , one of the best indian restaurant I tried in cincy. They have the best biryani , curries , and dosa . Food has good flavor

It is a decent place but have had 2 situations where the carry out food that I ordered turned out to be well below my expectations. In the first instance, the goat biryani (family pack) was burnt badly that I had to throw away half of it. The second instance my wife ordered the same item and this time we got chicken biryani instead of goat biryani. I recommend that anyone getting carry out check their order before you leave the premises to ensure that you get what you paid for and not food that is incorrect or not good in quality. These mistakes can be fixed easily IF they accept them and take the time to ensure quality food.
