Hands down the best lunch spot in Hamilton. The staff has a fun, friendly, family vibe. You feel like you are eating out of someone's home kitchen. Highly recommend the ox tail, snapper, and mofongo.

This corner shop is quaint, cozy and full of small town charm. It has a friendly atmosphere with a gracious hostess, and people seem to know each other, or engage in friendly conversation. They don't have a fixed menu. Stop in to see what they have on special today!Dirty rice, pintos, tostones, empanadas, Latin American sodas, and fresh made drinks like tamarindo. You can even get wings or fried chicken on rice with pintos and gravy. The food comes out fast and fresh, for carryout or dine in. They even have a small diner counter you can sit at while watching telenovelas and listening to Latin music. While there isn't a wide selection for vegetarians, you can certainly find some tasty options, then cover them in picante sauce. I had the cheese empanadas, rice and beans, tostones, and a tamarindo. It's a lot of food at a very reasonable price. Here's their Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/Deliscafe34It shows up on Google Maps as "Dominican Restaurant."They describe it on Facebook as "rich Hispanic food with Dominican Creole seasoning."

I ordered the shrimp mofongo to go. I walked in for the first time and it really doesn't look like much from the outside, or inside. The knock in stars has everything to do with environmental factors. You see piles of towels pressed against the windows, and clutter everywhere behind the counter. As I sat at the small bar/cash wrap waiting for my food to be prepared I looked down and there was a mound of ants on the floor. The man working didn't notice because he was too busy on his phone - he barefoot greeted me until I asked him if it was the menu that was on the wall and then realizing I'd never been before, he reviews the menu items with me. The ladies in the back in the kitchen were talking amongst themselves and taking selfies and on FaceTime. I saw bags of regular frozen shrimp and other frozen foods you can get at the grocery store being pulled out of the freezer. I wanted to leave .. but I wanted to be able to review the food. Being I am from NY where Dominican food is on many blocks and the restaurants take pride in their quality and fresh ingredients - I may be a slight snob around this type of food. The mofongo and frozen shrimp were just "aight". The service was poor. They actually had a man who looked like a street person come flag me down to come in and get my food (I had to sit in my truck after the ant colony and to not see anything else and lose my appetite). I don't really recommend this spot - BUT - I know it's one of a kind and I am all for POC Business Owners. The the Owners: please clean up - close the store for a day and do a thorough cleaning of the spot before the health department does. Get some bug repellant and remove the Christmas clutter and old remotes and towels stacked up as that is where bugs will colonize. Also, look into fresh ingredients to make your recipes pop! The sauce was great.

Stumbled upon this cute little restaurant. My gf had just moved here from Chicago, so she was missing some home cooking. By far the best Dominican food we've ever tasted. The space is small with only 4 tables and a bar with a diner feel. There was about 3 people working when we were there. The service was OK considering the amount of customers and servers. The menu is written on a glow up board towards the back. We got the fried chicken, pork chops and mango smoothie. The food came out fresh and delicious. It's safe to say we will make the trip put here more often.

Amazing food!! I tried calling and their phone doesn't work, are they still in business? I'm freaking out because I would be super sad if they close. Does anyone know if they are still in business. Thanks!

I had easily one of the best restaurant experiences of my life here. The server was incredibly knowledgeable and patiently described many delicious-sounding options to us, then brought us a taste of the oxtail so we could make an informed decision. She was friendly and fun, but the food itself was also exceptional. The oxtail was so tender and perfectly spiced, the guisado had an incredible sauce (definitely get with onions and peppers!) and the dirty rice went perfectly with everything. My husband loved his plantains with the mayo ketchup, and we both adored the passion fruit juice!Go check this place out!
