The cozy is a staple in Chillicothe! The most loyal regulars, great staff and the cozy burger is awesome! Well worth a stop!

Best dive bar in Chillicothe, and this blue-color factory town has plenty of dive bars! That being said, to truly enjoy and appreciate this spot you need to keep your expectations in check before you visit. Don't expect a long list of craft beers, signature cocktails, wine flights, gourmet appetizers, yada yada yada. What you do get is cold beer, strong drinks, the best freaking burger within 50 miles, dim lighting, neon beer signs, loud juke box (with a lot of base) and a loyal local following. Long live The Cozy!

As previous reviews have stated this is a local dive bar. I went for lunch. Service was prompt to come to my table but I had to ask for a menu. I ordered the potato soup and a cheeseburger. The potato soup was ok but the cheeseburger was delicious. Food came out very quick. I was not clear I had to pay at the bar and my waitress did not come back and check on me so service could be better. Worth a trip for the burger for sure.

I know Yelp doesn't exactly have an active following in Chillicothe, but I can't believe I'm the first one to review this place. The five stars are for their eponymous burgers. I've spent years eating them, yet I cannot explain why they are so perfect. Made from the humblest ingredients -- factory-made bun, ground chuck, iceberg lettuce... you get the idea -- they're sublime. The place itself is friendly, albeit a bit too full of NASCAR memorabilia for my taste. If I didn't know the place, I might be a bit scared walking in, but the people are friendly and the food is excellent. They have a massive display refrigerator with dozens of types of bottled beer, which is good since there's no draught beer here. Another oddity is a dearth of fried food. The closest you'll get to fries is a bag of chips. Locals swear by the potato soup (only available on Fridays), but I advise you to get a Cozy Burger or two with everything on it. Maybe you can tell me what makes them so damn good.

Back in mid-1960s when i was Sports Editor of the Chillicothe Gazette, the Cozy Inn was the hangout for the county's high school coaches & sports fans & had the greatest hamburgers I've ever tasted. People used to call me Wimpy, like the Popeye character, because I ordered so many of them. John Dennis was the owner then & assumed his old grill was responsible for the taste. Whenever I think of Chillicothe, I think of Cozy & hamburgers. After 50 yrs & umpteen owners, don't figure burgers R as good now, but the memory remains.

Had the Cozy burger - not bad at all. Bottled beer selection was good but the wife ordered a Cosmo and the bar keep didn't know how to make one. Oh by the way....maybe they could join the 20th century and start taking debit and credit cards. The one man band was pretty good.
